Shi Che seed not to hear her, his eyes dark and intently fixed on a certain spot. After a while, he slowly loosened his grip on the towel and then nodded faintly.
Manager Chen took two steps back and then turned to leave the private room.

Ling Chuxia leaned on the washbasin, staring at her own reflection in the mirror. Her eyes were large and empty, with a look of panic at the bottom. She didn’t understand why she should be afraid of Shi Che.
She and Shi Che had divorced, and they had already gone their separate ways. No matter how much he disliked her, that marriage was over, and she had paid a painful price for her mistakes. They were clear with each other now.
Now, upon seeing him again, she should not be frightened but rather face him head-on with her head held high, and perhaps casually say hello.
But... even she couldn’t lie to herself, she knew why she was scared. It wasn’t Shi Che she feared, but herself... afraid that the heart she had barely managed to control would uncontrollably beat for him once more.

She suddenly turned on the faucet, caught the cold water in her hands, and splashed it forcefully onto her face, again and again.
Manager Chen walked towards the restroom and finally saw Ling Chuxia by the washbasin near the restroom entrance. She quickly approached, her eyes on Ling Chuxia, and spoke sternly, "Ling Chuxia, once you’re ready, hurry back. What are you spacing out here for?"
Ling Chuxia hadn’t expected Manager Chen to co looking for her. She was startled, then her eyes slightly brightened. She truly didn’t want to face Shi Che and wasn’t able to continue the al. She wanted to leave.
She turned to face Manager Chen, bit her lower lip lightly, and spoke in a low voice, "Manager, I actually have sothing to tell you. I suddenly feel a bit unwell, can I leave first?"
Manager Chen seed to have anticipated her words. She didn’t respond imdiately but instead arched her eyebrows, countering with a question, "Ling Chuxia, do you know President Shi?"
Her words were direct, without any beating around the bush.
Ling Chuxia’s expression turned serious, and she opened her mouth to deny it, but before she could speak, Manager Chen continued, "You don’t need to deny it. Anyone could see that sothing is off between you two. Tell , what is your relationship?"
Ling Chuxia’s hands unconsciously tightened on her skirt. She lowered her eyes, and her voice grew even lower, "Manager, I really don’t know President Shi."
"How co? Do you still want to lie in front of ? Do you not want to work anymore?"
Manager Chen suddenly raised her voice, causing Ling Chuxia’s heart to reflexively tremble, yet she still clenched her teeth and refused to yield.
Manager Chen wasn’t really trying to give her a hard ti, just to scare her a bit. Not expecting her to be so stubborn, she narrowed her eyes and looked Ling Chuxia up and down. The more she looked, the more familiar she seed, "Looking at you now, it seems I’ve seen you sowhere before."
Manager Chen thought hard, then her eyes suddenly brightened, "You, you... aren’t you President Shi’s fiancee that was supposed to get engaged? It was in the newspapers before!"

Shi Che sat on the chair, the scene of Ling Chuxia being scalded by the tea involuntarily surfacing in his mind. Her dress was short, and she must have scalded her skin. His eyes darkened fiercely, ultimately feeling uneasy, he stood up and headed towards the restroom.
