Her figure was very slender, even thinner than the last ti he had seen her, with a frailty that made her seem like a paper doll, ready to be blown away by the slightest breeze.

She hung her head low, her long hair falling down, hiding her face. He couldn’t see her expression, but he felt her body trembling, as if she were crying.

Shi Che’s brows suddenly furrowed, a trace of deep sorrow flickered through his eyes, and his hands slowly clenched tightly.

Why was she crying? Why was she upset? Was it because of him...?

The man guided her to the passenger seat, opened the car door, and Ling Chuxia sat down. Then he jogged to the driver’s seat, got in the car, and they slowly drove away.

Shi Che’s gaze seed fixed on that scene, motionless for a long while, until finally, the monitoring personnel beside him, seeing him like this, couldn’t help but step forward and called out softly, "Young Master Shi?"

Shi Che didn’t respond, and the person called out several more tis. Shi Che’s rigid eyes moved slightly, and then he straightened up, the sadness and pain in his eyes instantly retracting, returning to his usual expression. His gaze was still on the screen and his lips moved slightly, his voice hoarse, "Take down the license plate number."

"Yes, Young Master Shi."

The monitoring personnel quickly took his place, rewound the footage, and Shi Che stared at the black Audi, his dark eyes flashing with extre annoyance.

That day, he had clearly seen that Audi, had glimpsed a familiar figure in a flash. If only... If only he had been more attentive, perhaps he wouldn’t have missed his chance with Chuxia.

-

Since the surveillance footage was a bit blurry, and the car was parked partly in a blind spot, only half the license plate was visible, making the complete number indiscernible.

This made it exceedingly difficult to identify the car’s owner, and finding Ling Chuxia’s current whereabouts would take a lot of ti. However, from the visible half of the plate, it was imdiately clear that the car was from Lin City.

So, Ling Chuxia had gone to Lin City, the four-hour drive to which had turned Shi Che’s world upside down in his search for her.

But having even the slightest clue was better than knowing nothing at all and searching aimlessly.

Xiao Zhao gripped the partial license plate number, confidently promising, "President Shi, I will do my utmost to investigate. I will certainly find out where Young Madam is!"

"Mhm."

Shi Che nodded, quickly signed a docunt, closed it, and handed it to Xiao Zhao before slightly parting his lips to speak, "Starting tomorrow, push back all my appointnts."

Xiao Zhao was taken aback, "President Shi, you an...?"

"I’m going on a business trip!"

"A business trip?" Xiao Zhao’s eyes widened in surprise. Why suddenly a business trip when there were none scheduled? And how could President Shi be in the mood for a business trip at a ti like this?

Shi Che thodically nodded again, speaking calmly, "Wasn’t there a company in Lin City looking to partner with us?"

"Yes, but you had previously turned down that partnership proposal, hadn’t you?" Xiao Zhao replied instinctively, pausing mid-sentence as a sudden realization flashed through his mind.

It seed President Shi wasn’t just anxious; he was incredibly urgent.

He couldn’t wait for the investigation and was preparing to go there himself to find Young Madam!

What could Xiao Zhao say at such a mont? Of course, he simply nodded and responded, "Yes, President Shi, I will delay all your upcoming schedules. Please rest assured and go on your business trip."
