Chapter 881: 275. Magical Advantage_2
“When controlling the magic access ter, I need to consu about 20,000 to 30,000 points of computing power per second to exchange for the 40,000 points per second computing power output of the magic access ter. If you give so ti to optimize the interaction array of the magic access ter, I should be able to reduce the computing power required to control it to 10,000 points per second, or even just 1,000 points per second. That would an I’ll be consuming 1,000 points per second of computing power to get 40,000 points per second from the magic access ter.”
Nolin adjusted his glasses and placed his hand on the glass ball of the access ter:
“Sir, the potential of the magic access ter is trendous. Its production difficulty is far lower than that of tal Creation Group’s Array Computer.
“If we extrapolate from the developnt trajectory of the Array Computer, there are two future directions for the developnt of the magic access ter.
“First, is to increase the computing power output level and data storage capacity of a single magic access ter. This requires you to create more and more powerful magic crystal tubes.
“The second direction is to form an access ter matrix using multiple magic access ters. The layout pattern of the matrix can be distributed or centralized.
...
“Considering that you are the creator and owner of the magic crystal tubes, I suggest adopting a centralized layout pattern, which is to use one Level One Magic Access Instrunt to control many Level Two Magic Access Instrunts connected to it.
“The Level One Magic Access Instrunt is for assigning work tasks, while Level Two Magic Access Instrunts are specifically for processing tasks.
“Under this layout, we only need to control the Level One Magic Access Instrunt in order to command a large number of Level Two Magic Access Instrunts.
“For every additional Level Two Magic Access Instrunt, our overall computing power output level and data storage space will increase accordingly.”
Noland Lee listened and nodded slowly in agreent.
By contrast, Selena, who didn’t understand computer systems very well, was a bit confused.
Noland Lee explained to Selena:
“Think of Nolin as a wizard specializing in controlling Magic Servants, take the Level One Magic Access Instrunt as her Magic Circle to control a large number of Magic Servants, and the Level Two Magic Access Instrunts as the Magic Servants.
“Adding Level Two Magic Access Instrunts is like increasing the number of Magic Servants. Nolin, as the commander of the Magic Servants, only needs to distribute work tasks through the Magic Circle.
“But Level Two Magic Access Instrunts are not exactly the sa as Magic Servants. Magic Servants cannot command Magic Servants, but Level Two Magic Access Instrunts can command Level Three instrunts, and the Level Threes can command Level Fours. Is that right, Nolin?”
Nolin nodded:
“Yes, Mr. Jarvis is correct, that’s what I an.”
Fortunately, Selena was a powerful woman owning many Magic Workshops; with Noland Lee’s explanation, she understood the usage of the magic access ter.
Then, she asked a question that hit the nail on the head:
“You two, I want to ask, why don’t we just use Magic Circles and Magic Servants to provide services for us?”
Selena crossed her arms, propping up the full moon, her brows slightly crinkled in confusion:
“Just as I control Magic Servants to build Island 33, I only need to command the Magic Servants with my thoughts, and they will carry out the tasks I’ve laid out according to my will. This magic access ter… um… it seems other than solving so computational problems for us, it doesn’t have other uses, does it…”
Noland Lee knew that Selena would ask this.
He reached into his Magic Pouch.
A shiny object appeared in his hand.
“Selena, what would you do when I cast the Soul Stagnation Field?”
Noland Lee shook the crystal in his hand:
“Magic Servants require a soul to drive them. All I need to do is unfold the Soul Stagnation Field, and within its range, all magical things will be paralyzed.”
Selena raised an eyebrow:
“You an to say that the magic access ter isn’t affected by the Soul Stagnation Field? But didn’t you use the Shaping Energy Technique to make the magic crystal tube? Logically speaking, the magic access ter, which relies on magic crystal tubes, should also be driven by your soul, right?”
“That’s exactly the issue,” replied Noland Lee as he securely stored the crystal and then took out a Soul Stasis Pendant:
“Let’s do an experint, Selena. What do you think will happen when I place so many Soul Stasis Pendants on the magic access ter? Will it be paralyzed, disintegrate, or operate as normal?”
Noland Lee tied the pendant to the magic access ter.
Sothing magical happened, the magic access ter, driven by Magic Energy, was not forced to shut down.
It showed no reaction and remained operational.
“How can this be…” Selena was stunned.
She summoned a Magic Servant with the appearance of a water vortex, took a pendant down from the magic access ter, and hung it on the Magic Servant.
“Pff~~”
The Magic Servant shrunk like a deflating balloon and vanished with a puff of White Fog as the pendant clattered to the ground.
Looking back at the magic access ter with the pendants still attached, it was completely unaffected by the ‘Soul Stagnation’ effect.
Noland Lee picked up the pendant from the ground and tied it to himself.
The System sent a prompt, reminding him that he was under the ‘Soul Stagnation’ effect and had temporarily lost his Spell Casting Ability.
“You see, Selena. Even if I have lost my Spell Casting Ability, this magic access ter can still operate normally.”
