Chapter 872: 272. Technology Assistant 2
“Due to constraints with materials and infrastructure, the torpedoes I’ve hastily assembled may fall short in terms of effective range, by about 80%, leaving them with just a 1,000-ter effective range,”
“With your magic accomplishnt, you can definitely use magic to replicate this kind of torpedo.”
Nolin spoke in a desiccated voice using the pronunciation matrix, but the admiration and respect in her tone did not match the quality of her voice, fully coming through nonetheless.
“What about the third plan?” Noland Lee asked.
As she wrote down the plan, Nolin introduced it:
“The success rate for the third plan is 90%, and it’s sowhat less difficult to prepare than the first two.
...
“Let confirm with you once more, when facing sea monsters with a ‘Heart of the Sea Monster,’ most of your ntal magic spells beco ineffective or weakened. But the ‘ntal Illusion’ spell isn’t affected by the ‘Heart of the Sea Monster,’ correct?”
“Yes,” Noland Lee lightly tapped his chin.
Nolin used “Mind Capture” to place the written plan in front of Noland:
“Then I suggest you take a look at the design docunt for this technological creation.”
Noland picked up the docunt.
Pointing at the blueprint with her pen, Nolin explained:
“This is a Gavabo Capacitor Pack developed by the tal Creation Group.
“It can maintain a high energy level while discharging according to power demands at any given ti.
“Generally, it’s used as ammunition for a shipborne electric arc projector. In extre circumstances, it can also forcibly drive a paralyzed ship’s micro-motor.
“Your expertise in magic and alchemy is the most outstanding I’ve seen among all the wizards.
“I believe you can use your knowledge of magic and alchemy to craft this capacitor pack into so kind of chanos. By adding ‘ntal Illusion’ to these chanos, they should be able to approach the Queen’s Domain relatively easily and strike a fatal blow to the energy nodes.”
Nolin paused:
“This plan only has a 90% success rate. It’s mainly due to the sea monsters’ heightened sensory abilities in the underwater environnt. You must let the chanos get close to the Queen’s Domain and initiate the injection program before ‘ntal Illusion’ is exposed.”
Noland lined up the docunts for all three plans, his gaze sweeping across them.
Hmm…
Not bad, not bad.
With Nolin around, taking on the Queen’s Domain seems much more assured.
Nolin had laid out the differences and rits of the three plans in the most unvarnished way, with no intention of hoodwinking Noland.
The plan involving constructing an underwater magnetic field was out of consideration. Just detailing the uses and manufacturing process of the magnetic field device had taken Nolin over thirty pages.
Clearly, that plan wasn’t doable for the ti being.
Noland turned to look at the simplest of the three plans and activated the Deconstruction technique.
[System ssage:]
[Deconstruction Success!]
[Your degree of deconstruction of the “third plan” has reached 100%]
[Here are the results of the deconstruction:]
[1. Details of the plan:…]
[2. The results of deconstruction interact with your scholarly skills.]
[The outco of the interaction is as follows:]
[Na] Capacitor Package Device Spirit (temporary na)
[Usage]
1. Power Supply
Can custom output thunder and lightning energy in terms of strength, frequency, and duration.
2. Jet
Consu all thunder and lightning energy, ejecting a high-impact lightning energy ball.
[Alchemy Plan]
Alchemy Material: 3 kilograms of all-purpose tal powder, 300 grams of pure clear reagent, 1 kilogram of thunder beast’s storage electric gland powder…
Alchemy Symbols: الطاقةالكهربائيةالتفاف…
Alchemy Formula: Omit
Plan Success Rate: 35%, corresponding to your “Alchemy Symbols and Array/Formation Studies” level.
…
Ah~
Another production plan for a quasi-technological product is in hand~
Looking at the tal sphere before him, Noland’s eyes lit up, his admiration and satisfaction unmasked.
Feeling his gaze, Nolin twisted the tal sphere slightly and asked respectfully:
“Sir, are you satisfied with my plan?”
“Very,” he answered.
“Thank you for your approval. I will serve you wholeheartedly. I am delighted you have treated with an equal soul contract, rather than forcing into an unequal one through deceit and oppression. Your sincerity and tranquility make feel truly human, not just a tool…”
Nolin went on and on like a flood, pumping out flattery effortlessly.
Noland accepted it as his due.
He deserved it.
In a world where extraordinary power can bind a soul and dominate will, most wizards opt for contracts that place them in an absolute position of control to manage summoned creatures, magic servants, pets, and even humans beneficial to them.
A plethora of spells that cut out emotions, shield the mind, and edit mories ensure that those treated unfairly do not feel the least bit of injustice.
A few simple, illicit spells are enough to strip a toolman of all negative mories and emotions.
In such a case, why bother about the feelings of a toolman at all?
Sparing ti to appeal to emotions when one could simply wave a hand, employ a few illegal spells to erase the emotional turbulence and bad mories of the other party.
By contrast, the asures taken by Noland Lee were inefficient, unreliable, and fraught with the threat of betrayal.
But as a foreigner who had received a proper education before crossing over, he inherently rejected the use of cold and harsh asures to enslave soone who could coexist amicably with him.
