Chapter 809: 256. Optional Betrayal_2

“`

“I’ve found that Wizards are quite fond of using energy thods to attack their enemies. So I thought, an Energy Neutralization Pulse Wave Projector should suit you. The materials used for this device aren’t as special as those for the Shipborne Shield Generator, but it’s very, very complicated to build. I need to collect a lot of energy data to make it work.”

Noland Lee’s eyes lit up even more as he looked at Nolin.

Having such a scientific expert on his side, his work on creating science-oriented magic products was well covered.

Noland Lee even thought that if only Nolin had a soul, how great it would be. He could then use a soul contract to bind her to his “chariot.”

“Let’s do this, Nolin,” Noland Lee pondered aloud:

“According to the application submitted by the Deep Sea Branch to the Wizard Enforcent Departnt, you can stay here for up to a month. Within this month, I will bring over the alternative to the Synthetic Human Main Control Chip and help you try to transfer the personality data onto this device.

“If everything goes smoothly, your personality data and technological docuntation will continue to reside in the Deep Sea Branch. I will create Loymin’s personality data to occupy the Synthetic Human Main Control Chip and have it replace you back in the Enforcent Wizard’s Prison Cell. How do you find my arrangent?”

Nolin’s expression was excited:

“Great! Thank you, Sir!”

“Hmm, if there’s nothing else, then I’ll be leaving.” Noland Lee patted the Soundbox and Light Projector on the tabletop:

“These two devices will have to wait for Selena to co and take them away.”

“Alright, Sir,” Nolin promptly said:

“There’s sothing I think I should inform you about.”

“Hmm? What is it?” Noland Lee asked.

Nolin said:

“Forty-five hours ago, while I was working on the Soundbox and Light Projector, a few Academy Wizards who were assisting appeared in this Laboratory.

“They brought the materials I needed. From one of them, I detected strange energy fluctuations that must have been caused by so sort of magic energy.

“Since my sensors do not have energy data for the magic domain, I couldn’t discern what these energy fluctuations represent.”

“Strange energy fluctuations…” Noland Lee muttered to himself then asked:

“Do you rember the appearance and the na on that person’s badge?”

Nolin nodded:

“Yes, Sir. That person was a young male Wizard with a badge bearing the na Marslank. He’s about one seventy-four ters tall, with short dark brown hair and a flat nose.”

“Alright, I’ll rember that. I will look into this,” he said.

Noland Lee rubbed his chin, contemplating whether the Dread Sail Wizards, who had been inactive for a while, had finally grown impatient.

With the Dread Sail Intelligence System’s network across the Suman Archipelago, it wouldn’t be difficult for them to figure out who was recent;y uncovering spies for the Charnel Family.

Through tailing, surveillance, and extensive inquiring, it could be discerned that the achievent belonged to Noland Lee Jarvis, the First-ring Enforcent Wizard.

If the Dark Scale Elder, who commanded infiltration operations, was cold enough, making use of important spies placed within the Academy, they could still find out Noland’s latest moves.

The Deep-sea Wizard nad Marslank could well be a nail that Dark Scale Elder had driven into the Academy.

If…

If the truth were indeed so, then it would be a ‘Big Big’ question mark whether the Core Circle was still a haven untouched by strife.

Because all Wizards who had access to Nolin and the Magic Laboratory had been selected by Selena’s second brother, Sidney Palmida.

Sidney Palmida was the Deputy Principal specifically in charge of academic affairs.

If even soone he selected was a spy, one could only imagine how many more there were infiltrating the Deep Sea Branch.

Noland Lee might have to personally take command to ensure that there were no faults on the personnel side.

After leaving the Magic Laboratory, Noland Lee activated ‘Soul Perception’ with Selena and recounted the matter about Marslank.

While Selena was serious, she also raised another guess:

“Jarvis, could this have sothing to do with my second brother? I didn’t ntion it to him when I applied for Nolin’s assistance from the Law Enforcent Departnt, but the magic experints led by Nolin in recent days must have involved my second brother. After all, those Deep-sea Wizards assisting Nolin can be said to be my brother’s students…”

“You think he’s sent his students to pry into secrets?”

Noland Lee complained dissatisfiedly:

“Why doesn’t he just focus on managing the Academy’s educational affairs instead of ddling in our business?”

Reminded by Selena, Noland Lee also felt that Marslank seed more like Sidney Palmida’s scout than a Tide Spy.

Sidney Palmida was also tasked with the developnt and refinent of Deep Sea Spells.

What Noland Lee could be certain of was that it wasn’t Selena who spilled the beans to Sidney Palmida; it must have been the latter who deduced sothing from Selena’s recent actions, prompting him to send a Deep-sea Wizard to investigate.

“Selena, I have to say this upfront,” Noland Lee spoke through ‘Soul Perception’:

“Considering that in the future you will need a legitimate reason to explain how you ca to possess the Spell to subdue Sea Monsters, we have always followed the procedural requirents of the Law when engaging Nolin to produce experintal apparatus.

“This is not an illegal magic experint; it is also protected by Ulnas Rings No. 2, No. 4, and No. 6.”
