Chapter 1404: 463. Infinite Illusions_3

The Mist Man’s silhouette laid Noland Lee upon a planet coated in reddish-brown soil.

“How are you feeling? Any better?”

Supported by the satin ribbons of purple mist, Noland Lee steadied himself, letting out a long breath and shaking his head slightly to clear the lingering dizziness:

“Are you the true form of the Assassin Angel?”

“Yes, it’s . I know who you are.” The Mist Man’s voice took on a note of gratitude:

“After I escaped, I acquired mories related to you from my avatar. I know the sacrifices you made to help free . I’ll repay you.”

...

Noland shook his head vigorously a couple of tis, feeling much better.

He rubbed the center of his forehead and said:

“So you are the true form of the Assassin Angel? We succeeded in rescuing you? What did I see before, then?”

“Listen, Mortal,” said the Assassin Angel:

“While you were conducting the Ceremony, you fell into an illusion created by the brainstem. Using the Ceremony, the Soul Construct of ‘Command’ and I saved you from the illusion. Whatever you saw or heard in the illusion, do not believe it. You must not believe it. The illusions spun by the brainstem have a high status, and they weave false information that is fully convincing based on your mories. Once you start believing what the illusion shows, you’ll beco a puppet controlled by the Extraterrestrial Eternity.”

“Illusions… Extraterrestrial Eternity…” Noland’s eyes displayed a vacant look, montarily confused about the relation between the illusion he saw and the Extraterrestrial Eternity.

Wasn’t the illusion created by the Angel of Heart’s brainstem?

Isn’t the Angel of Heart a mber of the Supre Star Palace?

Then why would an illusion created by the Angel of Heart sway one toward the camp of the Extraterrestrial Eternity?

Perhaps sensing Noland’s confusion, the Assassin Angel spoke:

“I must tell you so facts, the absolute truth of history.”

Hearing the heavy seriousness in the Assassin Angel’s voice, Noland imdiately focused his mind to listen.

The Assassin Angel continued:

“It’s true that the Star God secretly asked about handing over the Sacred Fire to the Extraterrestrial Eternity, and it’s true that I was expelled from the Inner Cosmos and sealed in the Outer Space. However, these are not the entirety of the true history.”

The Assassin Angel paused:

“Before I joined the Supre Star Palace, the Star God and I privately devised a self-rescue sche.

“If either of us were to be contaminated by the Extraterrestrial Eternity and unable to speak out for so reason, we could each send the other to a prearranged safe zone as a signal that we retained a sliver of sanity, in hopes that the other would help us escape.

“After I opposed the Star God’s decision to give the Sacred Fire to the Extraterrestrial Eternity, the Star God sent to the safe zone of our self-rescue plan—a ti loop Cage prepared by Senati in a remote corner of the Outer Space. This act indicated that the Star God had already been contaminated by the Extraterrestrial Eternity at that ti, but still retained a bit of clarity undetectable by the Extraterrestrial Eternity.

“After being sent out of the Inner Cosmos, I was ostensibly imprisoned in Senati’s ti loop Cage.

“But in reality, under the cover of Senati, I began to covertly investigate the cause of the Star God’s contamination and attempted to rescue Him.

“Just as I identified the Extraterrestrial Eternity’s spy within the Star Palace and was about to collaborate with trustworthy mbers to launch a rescue mission, the Extraterrestrial Eternity launched a sudden attack, manipulating the Star God to provoke strife and wage war against the Deities.

“I will not describe the battle in detail; instead, I can tell you the final outco directly.”

Pausing briefly, the Assassin Angel spoke with a grave voice:

“The first mber of the Star Palace to be infiltrated by the Extraterrestrial Eternity was the Angel of Mind and Fantasy, Vaana. Using the collective illusions created by Her, She subtly expanded the ntal Pollution of the Extraterrestrial Eternity, controlling many Deities, and even the Star God inevitably fell under the influence.

“At the mont the Star God went to war with the Deities, Vaana discarded her Disguise, transforming into the Hysteric Brain of the Extraterrestrial Eternity.

“The Hysteric Brain, together with the Extraterrestrial Eternity, killed Gilenz, dismbered the Angel of Space and Gravity, and seized a portion of Gilenz’s authority.

“The Star God fought desperately, reclaid so of the authority from Gilenz and Vaana, then disappeared one after the other along with Senati.

“In order to cover the retreat of the Star God and Senati, I was sealed inside the brainstem of the Hysteric Brain, forced to be imrsed in endless illusions.”
