Chapter 1361: 446. The Great thod of Disconnecting
The Redemption Angel Group controlled the Akas Star Field.
The Winter lon and Kelp brothers were making preparations for the upcoming battle.
After only half a day of training, their character panels had a new profession added:
Registered Pilot of the Angel Enterprises Alliance.
The impact on their attribute bonuses wasn’t particularly noticeable for now, with only an improvent in their perceptive abilities.
Its primary function centered around spaceship driving privileges.
...
Registered Pilots of the Alliance could pilot six types of escort ships, three types of battle cruisers, and one type of battleship.
The escort ships included assault, repair, drone, engineering, logistics, and special ops, all sharing a similar appearance of silver-white short daggers.
The three battle cruisers were designed for missile attacks, interceptions, and counter-surveillance, each sporting the look of a silver-white knuckleduster.
There was only one type of battleship, naly the laser battleship called Arbitration, equipped with two heavy laser turrets and ten secondary guns.
Winter lon and Kelp couldn’t pilot a battleship just yet, as they had only unlocked the escort ships.
But!
Redemption Angel Group would fully reimburse the players for the loss of their ships and experience!
This was much, much, much better than anything the United Bureau had to offer~
“I’m feeling pretty good~~ The Alliance’s treatnt is really nice~~”
“I’ve got this feeling that if word about the treatnt here gets out, soon many Great Guilds will lead all their players to join the Alliance,” one murmured.
The players about to depart were excitedly exchanging loud conversations.
Among the crowd, Winter lon and Kelp were continuously using the ga’s built-in recording feature to docunt the scene.
To avoid their voices interfering with the video, they chose to communicate by typing ssages in a chat group.
Winter lon: Indeed, the Alliance’s treatnt is really too generous. They not only reimburse us for all battle damage but also send monsters straight to us for the slaughter. Honestly, if I were a guild master, I’d definitely join the Alliance without a second thought. Just the compensation for my guild mbers’ battle losses would save a lot.
Kelp: If you ask , the treatnt we’re getting here is probably not even half as good as the Captain’s. He is being trained to be an Artificial Angel Pilot. He must be killing twice as many monsters as we do every day~
Winter lon: I’d say five tis more. And who knows what other benefits there are.
Kelp: Hehehe, I get it~
Winter lon: Those who know, know~
At this mont, Cucumber Slice had just recovered from the pain of the synthetic cerebrospinal fluid injection.
He saw the chat history in the group, his mouth twitching as he typed a ssage:
“What the hell are you two laughing about? Quit it and talk about the detailed battle plan.”
The first part was Cucumber Slice complaining about Winter lon and Kelp, and the second part was speaking on behalf of the big GM.
The GM was currently playing the role of the Dean of the Black Hole Magic Academy.
Whether or not the GM could obtain the detailed plans for the Alliance’s attack on the academy from the backend, Cucumber Slice thought it necessary to gather so intelligence for him.
After a few teases from Winter lon and Kelp, they got down to serious business.
Winter lon said:
“Captain, let tell you. Our mission is hit-and-run. I’ll just show you the details of our task, and you’ll understand.”
Winter lon opened the task panel, took a screenshot, and sent it to the group.
Cucumber Slice took a close look.
Well, I’ll be.
Destroy an Undying’s ship, reward 1 point.
Salvage recovery of the Undying’s materials, reward 1 point.
Administer an injection causing death to an Undying and bring back its corpse, reward 3 points.
Capture an Undying alive and deliver it to the Alliance, reward 10 points.
…
Altogether there were a dozen or so rewards listed, each and every one related to the Undying, without fail ntioning the words “Undying”.
It appeared the Alliance really intended to pit players against each other, commanding one group to attack another, stirring up infighting amongst players.
Angel Enterprise Alliance, that’s quite the move.
“Big guy, would the Alliance usually issue such tasks?” Cucumber Slice asked inwardly.
Noland Lee replied:
“Of course not. ‘Starry Sea’ focuses on universe exploration and fair competition. Even if there’s conflict between players, they’re encouraged to settle it in the Arena. Missions like these, stirring up civil war among players, are all concocted anomalously by the AI.”
Cucumber Slice felt slightly relieved but still concerned, so he said:
“Big guy, then do we have any way to stop this infighting among players? The treatnt and tasks from the Alliance might soon be broadcast by the dia.”
Noland Lee replied with a calm smile:
“Don’t worry, Cucumber Slice. We’ve already discussed our strategy.”
Indeed, the strategy had been discussed, and it was in union with the United Bureau and the Order Plane’s Core.
The top echelons of the United Bureau had so knowledge of the secrets of the Undying and also so recognition of the existence of the Order Plane’s Core.
Noland Lee had a brief but exceedingly amicable eting with both parties.
He made two requests.
First, any disputes occurring near the Black Hole would be resolved by the Black Hole Magic Academy, and the United Bureau need not intervene.
Second, the United Bureau would withdraw all its spies from the Lisom Star System where the Black Hole was located, to prevent collateral damage in the upcoming events.
The United Bureau accepted Noland Lee’s requests and had already withdrawn their agents—whether players or NPCs—from the Lisom Star System. They promised to only observe the situation near the Black Hole via satellite and not to dispatch any Security Guards to enforce the law.
