Chapter 1340: 437. ‘1’ is the limit_2

The Scroll Angel spoke while using white fus to construct a three-dinsional image, restoring the likeness of the Star God of that ti.

This was a humanoid creature, around two and a half ters tall, with four limbs and a brain, its body proportions similar to that of a normal human.

Compared to ordinary people, his distinct features were his skin color and the diamond-shaped crystal on his forehead.

The Scroll Angel introduced:

“The original na of the Star God was Gionax, from the Bephata Star System, which is also located at the boundary between Outer Space and the Barren Universe. The Bephata People living in the Bephata Star System have skin as white as paint. The diamond-shaped crystals on their foreheads are their brain’s cortex exposed, which helps them dissipate heat from their brains during rapid thought processes.

“The thinking and technological levels of the Bephata People were much higher than that of my planet at the ti. Back then, they could already pilot ships traveling through space.

...

“According to the Star God, before coming to aid my planetosphere, their own had been fighting the Night Spirits for half a year. Upon discovering the invasion of my planetosphere by the Night Spirits, they imdiately dispatched a fleet for reinforcent, or to evacuate the survivors, in order to preserve the seed of our civilization.”

The Scroll Angel paused, laughed lightly, and said:

“Guess what energy the Bephata Fleet that ca to rescue and my family used to fight the Night Spirits?”

Noland Lee pondered for a little while and ventured a guess:

“Could it be Pure Light energy?”

“Hmm, you guessed right.” The Scroll Angel replied:

“When the Star God ca to my rescue, he was only 8 years old, yes, just 8 years old, an age that would be considered a minor in any humanoid species. Yet in the Bephata Starfleet, he held the position of Fleet Commander. His significant achievents at such a young age were because he used his own ti-traveling abilities to go back to an era where ‘Pure Light’ commanded Sacred Fire, and he sought the ‘Pure Light’ Plane Core as his ally.”

The Scroll Angel continued:

“The Star God surrendered the Pure Light energy he controlled from his temporal journeys to the Bephata Federation and always tightly controlled the output of this energy. Within the entire Bephata Federation, he was the only one who could produce Pure Light energy.

“However, as you know, the ambitions and greed of mankind are never restrained. Even when facing external enemies, the Bephata Federation was rife with internal strife because the Star God controlled the Pure Light energy and was unwilling to relinquish the source of that power.

“After a series of internal splits and struggles, the Star God was ultimately forced to flee. After evacuating us, the Star God ordered the fleet to jump away from the Bephata Federation to a distant star system. From then on, he separated from the Bephata Federation.”

The Scroll Angel paused, then changed the topic:

“What happened later would take a long ti to tell. I could talk with you for ten days to half a month just to make clear how the Star God led us in establishing the Supre Star Palace, and yet, this part of the story is not the focus.”

The Scroll Angel stated:

“The real key point is that every Plane Core that controls the Sacred Fire develops a thod for distinguishing Extraterrestrial Eternity. During the era of the Supre Star Palace, to prevent any Extraterrestrial Eternity from infiltrating the Star Palace, the Star God developed a verification thod using himself as the anchor point. Suppose a Deity or an Angel was suspected of being Extraterrestrial Eternity. The Star God would take matters into his own hands and traverse to the past of the entity in question, ticulously searching for clues of their consumption by Extraterrestrial Eternity.”

Noland Lee nodded thoughtfully, echoing:

“That sounds like a very reliable thod. The Star God’s abilities are indeed useful, not only for replicating deities but also for tracing origins and investigating the past. No wonder you all recognized His rule.”

“Yes, but there’s one thing I’ve always been puzzled about.” The tone of the Scroll Angel beca sowhat elusive as if recalling sothing.

Noland Lee asked:

“What’s baffling you?”

The Scroll Angel replied:

“I don’t know why the Star God suddenly changed his mind and decided to actively hand over Sacred Fire to the Extraterrestrial Eternity.”

“Hmm, that is indeed puzzling.” Noland Lee mused and then suddenly had a brainwave:

“Hey, could it be that the Star God traveled back and saw the process by which Sacred Fire was born?”

The Scroll Angel did not imdiately respond, falling into contemplation instead.

After nearly half a minute, he finally said:

“When the Supre Star Palace was established, all of us, myself included, witnessed the Star God engage his traversing ability toward the Sacred Fire. Just like when he traversed to the past of other Life Creatures, the Star God’s body disappeared from our space-ti. Normally, his traversals would make him vanish for less than a second, but that ti, the traversal lasted half an hour before he reappeared in front of us, his expression one of disbelief. He said that he couldn’t trace the origins of Sacred Fire at all because no matter how far back he traveled, Sacred Fire always existed.”

Noland Lee furrowed his brows, sowhat puzzled, and asked:

“Does the Star God know how far back he traveled that ti? Or, during the traversal, how did He ascertain the year after he had traveled?”

The Scroll Angel replied:

“The Star God once told us that during his traversals, a sequence of numbers would appear in his mind. He regarded this row of numbers as the years of the Universe. If he went back to last year, the number would decrease by one. In his pursuit to track the origin of Sacred Fire, he traveled back hastily to the year when the sequence of numbers turned to ‘1’, yet he still encountered Sacred Fire.”

Noland Lee asked:

“Then why not ti travel an additional year forward to see what happens when the numbers reset to zero, or even beco negative?”

The Scroll Angel shook his head:

“It’s not that the Star God doesn’t want to, but he simply can’t. He can only travel up to the year marked by the number ‘1.’ That’s his limit.”

Noland Lee had nothing to say.

There was a montary silence at the scene.

After a little while, the Scroll Angel said:

“During the ti you were gone, I used the ability of Active Deconstruction to attempt to deconstruct the Sacred Fire.”

“Oh? Were there any results?” Noland Lee asked curiously.

The Scroll Angel shook his head regretfully:

“I will transfer the deconstruction results to you; take a look for yourself.”

Noland Lee relaxed his mind.

The Scroll Angel raised his hand to touch Noland Lee’s forehead.

A dense mass of white filants appeared before Noland Lee’s eyes, undulating slowly like waves.

“What are these?” Noland Lee examined the white filants without any clue.

The Scroll Angel said:

“These are the Deconstruction Results I obtained from deconstructing the Sacred Fire. There are no characters, no images, just these constantly undulating white filants.”

Noland Lee couldn’t make any sense of it after a while and instead asked:

“Then did you use Harmless Deconstruction or regular Deconstruction?”

The Scroll Angel replied:

“I understand your point. I used regular Deconstruction. There isn’t the slightest trace related to ‘Extraterrestrial Eternity’ on the Sacred Fire, and the consumption for Harmless Deconstruction and regular Deconstruction is the sa.”

Noland Lee asked again:

“So how many Energy Points are needed to completely deconstruct the Sacred Fire?”

The Scroll Angel gave a wry smile:

“Infinite.”

Noland Lee raised his eyebrows in astonishnt and exclaid:

“Infinite?!”

“That’s right, infinite,” the Scroll Angel spread his hands:

“It could be that the Sacred Fire itself cannot be fully deconstructed, or perhaps the Sacred Fire is in a state of constant growth. In any case, the feedback I received after initiating Active Deconstruction was that I would need to consu an infinite number of Energy Points to completely deconstruct it.”

The Scroll Angel raised his index finger, his tone becoming sowhat grave:

“Do you know? In all my years as an angel, this is the second object I have encountered that requires infinite Deconstruction Consumption. Can you guess what the first one was?”

Noland Lee had no idea.

The Scroll Angel said:

“It was the ‘Fractured Dinsion,’ that chaotic space beyond the Barren Universe. Its Deconstruction Consumption is also infinite.”

The Scroll Angel sighed deeply:

“Now I sowhat understand why the Star God suggested entrusting the Sacred Fire to ‘Extraterrestrial Eternity.’ These two things that both require an infinite number of Energy Points to deconstruct clearly have so internal connection.”

Just as the Scroll Angel finished speaking, a dark purple shadow suddenly erged from the ground nearby.
