Chapter 1304: 423. Demon God Host

“`

“Huh? What is this aura?”

Noland Lee’s brow furrowed tightly, feeling the aura was both familiar and unfamiliar at the sa ti.

Within his detection, five energy fluctuations with intense oddities appeared in the battleship’s laboratory.

They were emitting an aura filled with a destructive desire.

Anyone who touched this aura would imdiately transform into a pure killing machine.

...

Many guards around the laboratory weren’t fast enough to evade, were eroded by the aura, with their flesh rotting and their appearances horrifying, with blood streaming from their eyes, frantically attacking everything around them.

The problem was, the dium through which this aura was transmitted was not the air but mind power.

It was a direct ntal attack on the spirit.

The ard crew had no psychic defense tools.

After encountering such unpredictable ntal attacks, they were all affected, and there was no way to reverse or heal this in a short amount of ti.

Oddly enough, the ship’s robots were unhard.

Lacking a “mind,” they naturally lacked the dium for the dangerous aura to erode.

However, the deranged ard crew mbers obviously would not spare the robots.

They attacked them ferociously regardless of whether they were friend or foe, and even the walls and ceilings of the ship’s corridors were not spared.

Noland Lee cast “Mind View” toward the laboratory, quickly scanning the situation inside.

The source of the aura was the brains of the Artificial Angels controlled by the Demon Brain Race.

The Dark Priests studying the brains weren’t mad; they were the culprits behind all this.

They had set up so sort of ritual array inside the laboratory, coating the walls and floor with a black, paste-like substance, forming intricate Magic Array patterns.

The Dark Priests locked the laboratory door from inside and then a small group of them reinforced the door to prevent the crazed crew from rushing in.

Another group ford a circle around the five brains at the center of the Array, murmuring, chanting sothing with a strange intonation.

Thick black fog surged from the center of the Array, contaminating the brains controlled by the Demon Brain Race, slowly staining them black.

Noland Lee discerned part of the mystery.

The source of the aura that attacked the crew mbers’ minds actually originated from the black fog within the Array, not the brains controlled by the Demon Brain Race.

The five brains rely used their own mind power to spread the aura beyond the laboratory.

So, the real cause of the crew’s frenzy was the Array set up by the Dark Priests.

Destroy that thing, and the ard crew would probably recover.

Noland Lee intended to destroy the Array, but not to save the ard crew, who were at odds with him.

What truly motivated him was that Array itself.

It was gradually transforming the five brains into pure black.

Once the brains turned completely black, they would be absorbed by the Array and teleported light-years away.

One might wonder how Noland Lee knew the purpose of the Array.

Well, of course, the Dark Priests “told” him.

Noland Lee understood the conversation of the Dark Priests through the “Universal Communication Technique.”

In essence, they were taking alternative asures to transport these five Artificial Angel brains controlled by the Demon Brain Race to the main camp of the Dark Divine Cult.

At the main camp to receive the brains was a High Priest of the Dark Divine Cult.

Since the High Priest had a Dark Deity sealed within him, the Deity’s aura inevitably leaked out whenever the High Priest made a move.

This situation spread through the brain’s psychic powers, causing disturbances.

Now, the most pressing matter for the Dark Priests was to ensure the Ceremony proceeded safely and correctly.

The slightest deviation would at best result in the Array exploding, destroying every living target in the laboratory, and at worst, causing the Deity sealed within the High Priest to go berserk, tear the High Priest apart, and co to this place through the ritual array.

In any case, just hold on, hold on, and hold on a bit longer.

Once the five brains are teleported away, the Dark Priests would quietly proceed to the Upper Deck, take the shuttle, and leave the battlefield.

All these critical contents, mixed with so curses against the attackers, were filtered out by Noland Lee.

Shaped by the principle that whatever the enemy least wants to happen is exactly what one should make happen, Noland Lee decided to go for a big play.

At this mont, the corridor outside the laboratory was in chaos, a perfect ti to fish in troubled waters.

Without a word, Noland Lee targeted a corpse leaning on the laboratory door and unleashed “Evil Blast.”

“Boom!!”

With the enhancent from the “Heart of Magic,” the power of “Evil Blast” was beyond comparison to the past.

An unexpected explosion not only wiped out the crazed crew mbers nearby but also deford the laboratory door.

The door bent, the gap widened, and a more intense dark aura surged out, rapidly spreading along the corridor.

The Dark Priests in the laboratory were startled, almost forced to interrupt the ceremony.

By the ti they regained their composure, the deeper reaches of the corridor outside were already filled with roars and the sound of dense footsteps.

A large group of ard crew mbers eroded by the aura was racing toward the laboratory, attacking everything in their path.

Coincidentally, the teams of ard crew who were originally going to intercept the Player in the cargo corridor had just been affected by the aura.

They suddenly changed direction and rushed towards the laboratory, completely forgetting their original task.
