Chapter 1243: 397. Special Mission_2

“`

Noland Lee pondered for a few seconds.

The To Angel had preserved his Passive Deconstruction Ability, and now he had brought out the “Heart of Magic,” an incredibly precious object, which clearly indicated that an interstellar journey against the tal Creation Group was inevitable.

Moreover, Noland Lee had a premonition that he might have to leave the Inner Cosmos soon, otherwise, the To Angel would not have given him these two treasures on the spot.

“When do I depart?” Noland Lee asked.

The To Angel said:

...

“The sooner the better. From what I have learned, the tal Ancestor Dragon is about to assemble a whole Anti-magic tal army with the help of the Death Steel Legion and the Undead Cult. It will not imdiately attack Spinning Continent. For it, building a stable passage between the Inner and Outer Space within the Pollution Zone is the priority. With such a passage, Synthetic Humans within the tal Creation Group can continuously enter the Inner Cosmos and expand the Anti-magic tal army. During this ti, Dark Deities resurrecting one after another will also join the tal Ancestor Dragon’s camp, bolstering its power.

“Although the Dark Deities also want to dominate the Inner Cosmos, this does not prevent them from cooperating with the tal Ancestor Dragon to first drive and Nyrephale away. Because only in this way can they get access to the ‘Wizard’ Core of the Plane, and thereby take control of the Inner Cosmos.”

Thinking, Noland Lee asked:

“Can Dark Deities produce Soul Energy en masse like the tal Ancestor Dragon does?”

“They can. But their thod is not as imdiately effective as the tal Ancestor Dragon’s.”

Noland Lee asked again:

“Then can you do this? If you can, couldn’t you and Nyrephale use the massive Soul Energy to create your own extraordinary army?”

The To Angel and the Assassin Angel looked at each other. After a mont of silence, the To Angel explained:

“I, the Assassin Angel, and Nyrephale, the three of us believe that the Star God will eventually appear in the Inner Cosmos. When the Star God appears, a cleansing of the disruptors of Order will be inevitable.”

Noland Lee understood.

They were concerned about the Star God settling scores afterward.

Beings like the tal Ancestor Dragon and the Dark Deities that trampled on Order after the Star God’s disappearance would certainly be annihilated upon the Star God’s return.

Whereas beings like the To Angel, the Assassin Angel, and Nyrephale, who were more compliant with the Order of the Star Palace, could avoid capital punishnt and might even be rewarded by the Star God for their rits in restarting the Star Palace.

It made sense.

The Star God was a being capable of taking on many, so it wouldn’t be easy to kill.

If He was out of touch now, it was very likely that He was traversing ti and space, gathering a great army from history, planning a counterattack.

In the end, it was the prestige of the Star God left behind in the past that made beings like the To Angel think He could return and rebuild the Star Palace, so they were acting so cautiously.

Seeing Noland Lee lost in thought, the To Angel said:

“Before you leave the Inner Cosmos, you can seal off the Sub-Dinsional Plane. I know you have so conflicts with several Transcendent Wizards. No worries, I will handle the diation. Those Transcendent Wizards have unlocked the first of the fate shackles with the help of the Core of the Plane, but the remaining four shackles have not been broken. The ‘Wizard’ Core of the Plane can still restrict their actions. Also, your companions cannot leave the Inner Cosmos this ti, but when the ‘Wizard’ Core of the Plane is ready to enter Outer Space, we will preserve their mories, so you can rendezvous with them in Outer Space.”

Noland Lee nodded and said:

“It seems you have thought of everything for .”

“Yes, I must do this,” the To Angel said:

“The personnel for this task must be soone both the Assassin Angel and I trust, and not targeted by the tal Ancestor Dragon. To ensure you are without worries, I have taken care of everything in advance.”

Noland Lee thought for a mont and then said:

“I have one final question.”

“Please ask,” the To Angel said.

Noland Lee asked:

“Was Noland Lee your na before you beca an angel?”

The To Angel shook his head:

“`

“No. My na was Blape Fane when I was a mortal, and since becoming an angel, I’ve seldom used that na.”

“I suppose this is the first ti you’ve heard the na ‘Blape Fane,’ which is normal. To prevent any issues with my reincarnation work during the soul fusion phase, I deliberately concealed my true na, which is ‘Blape Fane,’ and instead referred to myself as ‘Noland Lee Jarvis.’ This allowed my soul to rge perfectly with ‘Noland Lee Jarvis,’ without any sense of division.”

Noland Lee indeed had no recollection of the na ‘Blape Fane.’ He took a deep breath and said,

“Alright then, I will go now and say goodbye to my companions.”

The Scroll Angel made a beckoning gesture:

“You can also enter and leave the Sub-Dinsional Plane from here. Once you’re ready, co here, and I will arrange the ritual array for you, using the power from the ‘Escape’ Core of the Plane to send you out of the Inner Cosmos.”

Noland Lee sensed the stars above, silently uttered “enter the Sub-Dinsional Plane,” and disappeared into the library illuminated by the white fog.

After Noland Lee had left, the Scroll Angel waved away the bookshelves piled with books around her, summoning a round table and chairs, and inviting the Assassin Angel to sit down.

The Assassin Angel asked,

“Why did you leave the Passive Deconstruction ability to that mortal? The digitized Panel Information crafted by the Star God and your Active Deconstruction Ability should be more suitable for him to destroy the tal Creation Group outside.”

The Scroll Angel conjured up tea and desserts with Divine Power, while saying:

“I have a use for keeping the Active Deconstruction Ability, Berya. For a long ti, we have been accustod to basking in the luminous glow of the Fire of St. Dillan, but we have never truly sought to understand its essence and history. I want to use the Active Deconstruction Ability to delve deeper into the Sacred Fire.”

The Assassin Angel did not sit, but stood and asked,

“Since when did you start having such thoughts? I find the exploration of the Sacred Fire to be a form of blasphemy.”

“I know, I know, but I must do this,” the Scroll Angel said after taking a sip from the teapot.

“Do you think that I have been secretly transferring the Light of the Sacred Fire to that mortal, allowing him to grow rapidly?”

“What else could it be?” the Assassin Angel retorted.

The Scroll Angel put down the teapot, looking intently at the other:

“No, I have not transferred the Light of the Sacred Fire to him. Never.”

“What… what?” The Assassin Angel was taken aback and stunned.

“Yes, you heard correctly, I have not gifted even the slightest bit of the Light of the Sacred Fire to that mortal. His growth was entirely his own. This shatters our previous understanding. It is the first ti I have discovered that a creature’s extraordinary strength can grow rapidly without the Light of the Sacred Fire.”

The Scroll Angel spread out her hands and said to the bewildered Assassin Angel:

“You and I are used to absorbing the Light of the Sacred Fire to maintain our lifespan and increase our extraordinary power, always living under its illumination. Suppose, and I just suppose, if so creature were to walk the extraordinary path without ever using the power of the Sacred Fire from beginning to end, wouldn’t this prove that the Sacred Fire is not essential to us?”

The Assassin Angel took a couple of steps forward, coming up to the table, and asked:

“Are you certain that mortal hasn’t absorbed the Light of the Sacred Fire?”

The Scroll Angel raised a hand to her head, with a very certain tone:

“One hundred percent certain. Rember what I told you? That mortal retains the mories from before I beca an angel. Among those mories, there is no trace of the Sacred Fire, so he has always had no concept of it. To absorb the Light of the Sacred Fire, one must first be filled with respect, even worship. But that mortal won’t do that; he harbors only doubts and curiosity about the Sacred Fire and naturally cannot absorb its Light.”

“So, are you implying that we could also gain extraordinary power without the Sacred Fire?” asked the Assassin Angel.

“That question is not important. What’s important is that we have extended our lives relying on the Sacred Fire until now and don’t have the courage to stop absorbing its Light,” the Scroll Angel explained.

“We cannot be sure of what would happen if we stopped absorbing the Light of the Sacred Fire. We might devolve into mortals in an instant, or we could die imdiately. In a sense, by giving the Passive Deconstruction Ability and ‘Heart of Magic’ to that mortal, I also want to see how far he can go on the road without fire. If he becos an existence like us, that would an…”

The voice of the Scroll Angel trailed off, and she paused for a few seconds before continuing:

“That would an the Sacred Fire is perhaps a conspiracy, a sche set by an ancient being so old that we cannot verify its origin and are left to accept its deceit as truth.”

The library fell into utter silence.
