Chapter 1224: 389. Shadow Thief

“Tarsali really has patience…”

Wizards sward into the subway. Yet, in the dusty city area, the figure of the tal Ancestor Dragon did not appear.

Noland Lee silently watched everything from behind the scenes.

Through his Magic Vision, he confird that the last batch of anti-demon materials had been delivered to the train.

Just as the wizards entered the subway entrance, the train loaded with anti-demon materials had already departed.

The fastest wizards could only see the train’s tail lights and the barrage of shells and energy beams coming their way.

...

Those wizards who dove underground, mostly Seven-Ring wizards, cast spells that were strong enough to overturn the entire underground track and train.

After several massive underground explosions occurred, the Death Steel Soldiers on the train were blown off their feet.

However, the Death Steel Soldiers sustained no casualties.

Their bodies had undergone a magic modification to perfectly adapt to high-intensity combat involving magical elents.

Regardless of the type of magical energy, none could truly harm them.

The Death Energy that could strip away the life force of living beings only left scorched marks on them.

When struck by Thunder and Lightning Energy, it transford into nurous small electric snakes that quickly dispersed and vanished into thin air.

As for Fla Energy, it could not even ignite or lt the Death Steel Soldiers.

The few energies that could actually restrict the Death Steel Soldiers involved Kinetic Energy, such as Rock and Soil Energy and Wind Energy.

Gradually, the wizards entering the underground realized that the advantage was not theirs.

They ca with ferocity, intent on overturning the enemy, but now they were being suppressed by the nearly completely magic-immune Death Steel Soldiers with their guns and cannons.

Worse still, there was a sturdy transparent barrier around the periter of the underground space containing the subway tracks.

This barrier was even stronger than the hemispherical barrier protecting the city area; despite repeated magical bombardnts, it stood firm.

It prevented wizards on the ground level from digging through the ground and lifting the entire underground space to the surface, as well as dispelled the thoughts of wizards underground from breaking through the earth to return to the ground.

Thus, the wizards on the ground could only enter the underground through the subway entrance to provide reinforcent to the increasingly retreating frontlines, while those underground had no choice but to retreat the way they ca, escaping the predicant.

But entering this underground space was easy; leaving it was difficult.

The tal System Wizards above had pushed close to the subway entrance and magically blocked all escape routes from the subway entrance.

anwhile, Death Steel Soldiers lingering on the surface also gathered near the subway entrance, forming an extrely tough defensive line.

Whenever the Nine Circles Wizards tried to use powerful Sub-dinsional Summoning Spells to forcibly shift the battle situation, wizards of the tal System in the sky would always preempt them, using tal Magic to wash over specific areas and block the ergence of the Sub-Dinsional Plane.

As this give-and-take continued, the Scales of battle unknowingly began tilting towards the tal System Wizards and Death Steel.

More and more wizards found themselves trapped underground, unable to comprehend why just three to five hundred tal System Wizards outside could confine them deep underground.

Noland Lee, however, saw everything very clearly.

Although the buildings in the Root Server Urban Area had collapsed, the will of the tal Ancestor Dragon was still present.

Invisible energy waves continuously shot out from the ruins, flowing into the bodies of the tal System Wizards and significantly enhancing their tal Magic.

It could be said that any tal System Wizard picked at random could dominate a Nine Circles Wizard in a one-on-one battle.

From an outsider’s perspective, Noland Lee quickly realized what the tal Ancestor Dragon Tarsali intended to do!

This old dragon planned to use Death Steel and the tal System Wizards to trap and kill this large group of wizards underground!

But were the Death Steel Soldiers and tal System Wizards on site enough?

The group of wizards underground, although disunited and each hiding their ultimate techniques, did not use them yet.

If truly cornered, wouldn’t they unite and break out in a concentrated direction?

As Noland thought about this, he saw several teor-like objects with trailing flas, descending from the sky and crashing into the city ruins.

Once the dust slightly cleared, the teors revealed their appearances.

They were bulky air-dropped troop transport ships, purely made of tal and shaped like chicken eggs, apparently over a hundred ters in diater.

After landing, these troop transport ships opened like blooming flowers, discharging wave upon wave of Death Steel Soldiers who joined the battle.

Once all the Death Steel Soldiers had disembarked, these landing-capable vehicles did not take off; instead, they began to transform with clanking noises, from blooming tallic giant flowers into four-legged tallic Giant Apes.

Cannon muzzles, three ters thick, extended from the backs of the tallic Giant Apes, aiming at the fiercely contested subway entrance.

After a brief charge-up, the giant cannons fired with a deafening blast, unleashing three-ter-diater laser beams toward the subway entrance.

Several wizards near the subway entrance, lacking in strength, had their Magic Shields penetrated by the laser beams and lted on the spot.

Their grueso deaths tightened the hearts of the remaining wizards.

But as the wizards prepared to counterattack and break out, they horrifiedly realized that the endless streams of laser beams filling the subway entrance showed no signs of stopping.

The wizards had to use all their strength and defensive asures to barely keep the laser beams contained near the subway entrance.
