Chapter 1060: The 331st Hypothesis of “False” Planes

The third ti he entered the Land of the Crownless, Noland Lee felt at ease, as if he were returning ho.

The omnipresent purple fog swirled around him, enveloping his consciousness and brushing lightly against his soul, conveying the silky sensation of a veil.

Not sure if it was an illusion, Noland noticed that the sensory experience in the Land of the Crownless felt much more refined than his previous two visits.

The purple mist churned and coalesced into a humanoid form, and the Assassin Angel appeared before Noland as a Mist Man.

Noland Lee had used “Divine power runes” to destroy most of the Essence of the Bloodbinder’s Corpse, leaving only a very, very small piece for Nabby.

The Assassin Angel deed this action “not a failure.”

...

Does that an the task was successful?

Noland held his breath and focused, patiently waiting for the Assassin Angel to speak.

After about half a minute, the Assassin Angel suddenly asked Noland a question:

“What is a deity?”

Noland combined the knowledge he had learned from Omar Goddard and tentatively replied:

“The controller of a sub-plane that is recognized by the Supre Star Palace is known as a deity.”

The Mist Man ford by the Assassin Angel nodded almost imperceptibly:

“A superficial but correct narrow definition.”

The Assassin Angel asked another question:

“Which ca first, the sub-plane or the Supre Star Palace?”

This… this is worth asking? Noland thought for a mont and said:

“It should be the sub-plane that ca first. After the Extraordinary took control of the sub-plane, differences erged within the group. Those willing to join the Supre Star Palace beca deities. Those unwilling were suppressed by the Star Palace within the sub-plane.”

The Assassin Angel made no comnt on Noland’s answer, but simply asked:

“The origin of the sub-plane?”

Noland figured the question was a test of whether he rembered the necessary key points of knowledge.

He steadied his mind and said:

“Sub-planes are created by powerful Extraordinary beings. Dusk Giants see sub-planes as their hosteads, Wizards treat them as their territories. Therefore, the Extraordinary are not only the pioneers of the sub-planes but also their architects.”

Noland thought his answer was spot-on, but the Assassin Angel shook its head indifferently:

“No, completely wrong.”

Noland’s brows furrowed, confused.

The Assassin Angel stated calmly:

“Sub-planes existed first, and then ca the Extraordinary. The Extraordinary are the puppets, the servants of the sub-planes.”

The sub-planes controlled the Extraordinary?

Noland’s eyebrows knitted together tightly.

What did that an?

The Assassin Angel raised its arm made of purple mist and cast a layer of haze toward Noland.

The fog enveloped Noland and transford into a kaleidoscopic dynamic scene before his eyes.

The scene depicted a man-made Ecosystem Warehouse.

The Ecosystem Warehouse, shaped like a cylinder, stood erect on a tal base with hard to identify material.

The inside and outside of the warehouse were separated by a thick layer of Transparent Glass, preventing any circulation of air and water.

The warehouse hosted a miniature ecosystem within, complete with a lawn, rockery, little stream, woods, and a light source.

There were grass, trees, stones, and water, but no animals.

At that mont, a chanical Arm suspended from the Ceiling of the warehouse placed a few Rice-sized bug eggs onto the grass.

From the mont the eggs appeared, the speed of the scene on the display dramatically accelerated, playing back at a rate of at least a thousandfold.

Unknown white larvae erged from the eggs, and after developing and growing, they turned into beings with wings, resembling bees.

These winged insects collected various natural materials within the warehouse and built their “hos” on a small tree.

That was a Beehive wedged between the branches.

The scene paused at that mont, focusing on the bees entering and exiting the hive.

The Assassin Angel asked:

“What do you think these animals are?”

Noland said:

“Bees.”

“No, they are a man-made sub-species combining the genes of mantises and bees.” The Assassin Angel zood in on the display, showing the “bees” with mandibles identical to those of mantises.

Noland raised his eyebrows, finally noticing that these creatures only sowhat resembled bees in pattern and wing shape, with the rest of their parts similar to ordinary mantises.

“How does a creature created by a Gene Editor know what kind of ‘hostead’ it wants to build?” asked the Assassin Angel.

Noland pondered for a mont and replied:

“It must be an instinct encoded into their genes.”

The Assassin Angel continued:

“Who entered the instinct to build a specific ‘hostead’ into the animal’s genes?”

This question was akin to asking about “the origin of life.”

Noland touched his head, recalling the many discussions he had seen before crossing over.

So perspectives erged from a purely materialistic angle and delved into the molecular level.

Others were more classical, attributing the origin of genes to so-called Deities, and this connected with many ancient doctrines.

Considering that the Assassin Angel was discussing topics related to “Extraordinary” and “Deities,” Noland deliberated and finally provided an answer:

“Um… could it be that the legendary Creator God wove the genes of animals? Is it He who determined each animal’s instinctive behaviors and ultimate destiny?”

The Assassin Angel nodded, but then shook its head:

“Conservatively correct, but not comprehensive enough.”

With a wave of its arm, the Assassin Angel dispersed the scene in front of it and instead constructed a massive and complex 3D model.

Noland’s pupils slightly dilated, and his breath caught.
