Chapter 1037: 323. St. Dillan Fire
“Kindhearted wizard?”
The leader of the Earth Vein wizards froze in place.
His face, patched together with clay, showed a bewildered expression.
Noland Lee nodded calmly and said,
“Yes, it’s … I am Ferrero, a hired wizard. The ones beside are my companions, Kenda and Ritz.”
The first few words Noland Lee spoke were directed to the Dusk Giant within the Earth Vein wizard leader.
...
The latter part of his sentence, however, was a conversation with the Earth Vein wizard leader himself.
Ferrero, Kenda, and Ritz were nas he had created on the fly for his three “persons”…
So-called “hired wizards” were those who, after graduating from wizard students, specialized in carrying out hired tasks.
Such wizards belong to no wizard forces and generally value money over loyalty.
The Earth Vein wizard leader felt a bit strange upon hearing Noland Lee’s self-introduction.
It was rare to see high-level wizards serving as hired wizards, let alone three who appeared to be Saint-level wizards all at once…
Upon further thought, the Earth Vein wizard leader realized.
This might be an intentional ploy by the trio to conceal their true origins.
With this in mind, the Earth Vein wizard leader curbed his probing gaze and turned to bow respectfully with a low profile, saying carefully,
“Thank you for lending your assistance, all three of you. I am Gretel Earthvein, a Sixth Ring Battle Wizard from the ‘Pillar of Ley Lines.’ Please accept this token of my gratitude; it is what you three deserve.”
Gretel Earthvein took out a small bag of magic gems and handed them over to Noland Lee with both hands.
Noland Lee took them nonchalantly and said,
“You will be delayed for a bit, as I have sothing to discuss with the being inside you.”
“Yes, Your Excellency, as you wish,” replied Gretel Earthvein, reaching into his robe and handing a pendant to Noland Lee.
He tactfully moved his team aside into a nearby passage, not eavesdropping on the conversation between Noland Lee and the Dusk Giant.
Noland Lee cast “Mind Induction” on the pendant, establishing a ntal bridge to avoid any unwelco listeners.
“How have you been lately? Have you found a way to leave the Tatis Empire?” Noland asked straight to the point.
“Thank you for the advice you gave before, Ferrero. ‘Pillar of Ley Lines’ has now entered the Tatis Empire. I have negotiated with them a thod to escape from the Empire…”
The Dusk Giant was initially pleased, but then his tone changed, revealing his distress,
“However, this thod is arduous. I need a stable carrier to hold my soul and extraordinary traits, or it could lead to calamity.”
“A stable carrier… what do you an? Do you need a powerful magic orb?” asked Noland, puzzled.
After a slight pause, the Dusk Giant sighed,
“Ah, no, magic orbs are not sufficient; it has to be a sub-dinsional plane. Only by utilizing the power of space to construct a sub-dinsional plane can it withstand my soul and extraordinary traits.”
Noland blinked, impressed, and a question crossed his mind,
“How then does the Tatis Emperor bear your soul and extraordinary traits?”
The Dusk Giant explained,
“In the center of my head is an amber-colored organ called the ‘Mind Core.’ It’s the carrier for my soul, the source of extraordinary power, and the physical embodint of Pri Material. The Tatis Emperor has taken control of my Mind Core. Only by transferring the extraordinary traits and soul within the Mind Core to a sub-dinsional plane can I regain my freedom.”
“Oh, I see.”
Noland understood now.
Hadn’t the Assassin Angel ntioned a sub-dinsional plane called the ‘Steel Forest of Mortal World’?
Noland almost thought that the Tatis Emperor had such a plane in hand.
Now it seed that the Mind Core held by the Tatis Emperor was the restraint upon the Dusk Giant.
“So, what are you doing here?” Noland inquired further.
“I want to transform this pollution zone into my sub-dinsional plane,” the Dusk Giant answered honestly.
Noland’s mind trembled…
The Dusk Giant had the ability to build a sub-dinsional plane from a pollution zone!
My goodness.
And you just co out and say it?
You’re truly frank, aren’t you?
Compared to that, the Assassin Angel was like squeezing toothpaste, always liking to keep people in suspense.
The Dusk Giant was much better; he spoke his mind without beating around the bush.
Nice, the Dusk Giant was soone Noland could get along with.
After contemplating quickly, Noland asked his third question,
“Do you know the Assassin Angel?”
“I do not. Who is that?”
“You don’t know?” Noland was clearly surprised.
“Yes.”
Noland pointed to the dried blood on the ground,
“Then do you know to whom these dried bloodstains belong?”
The pendant hovering in the air swayed slightly, as if scanning the dried black blood,
“I do not know… but, I sense so extraordinary presence.”
Noland nodded thoughtfully.
He extended his right hand in front of the pendant, revealing the “Divine power runes” given by the Assassin Angel,
“Do you recognize this?”
The pendant moved closer for inspection,
“No, I do not recognize it.”
This was getting stranger and stranger… Noland stored away the “Divine power runes,” rubbing his head in confusion.
It was known that Blood Binder Zudak, Assassin Angel Gallobelia, and Osmisgard Duskgiant were all mysterious big shots from outer space.
But why did the Dusk Giant not know the other two, while the other two seed to know each other?
