With Li Yun, Ye Fei quickly arrived at the headquarters of the Lingyun Society. He first greeted Zhang Yide, who was sitting there, and then went down to the basent with Li Yun.

This basent, which was originally used only to store so items and occasionally to secretly deal with hostile elents, had now been listed by Zhang Yide as the top priority of the Lingyun Society. Not only had many guards been added, but the masters created by Ye Fei before had also been deployed in rotating shifts to defend it secretly.

It could be said that even Ye Fei himself was not absolutely confident he could break into this basent without alerting anyone. This made him extrely satisfied because those masters had been implanted with orders of absolute loyalty and were thus completely trustworthy.

After sending Li Yun into the large, box-like instrunt, Ye Fei and Zhang Yide sat down beside it. Since the last ti he had created those masters here, Ye Fei had not returned to the Lingyun Society headquarters, so it was only now that Zhang Yide had the opportunity to report to him about the club's recent affairs.

However, Ye Fei was a complete outsider when it ca to running underworld operations, and with Zhang Yide—who had spent most of his life in this industry—handling things, he had no worries. He simply let Zhang Yide speak briefly.

Once he learned that the Lingyun Society had completely eliminated the negative effects caused by Ye Yu previously, he didn't let him continue and instead asked, "Grandpa Zhang, how's the matter with the Qinglong Gang?"

"Haha, with those masters you created, plus the help of those bald guys, the Qinglong Gang was simply no match. They've been completely defeated, and most of their original mbers have already been absorbed by us." Speaking of this, Zhang Yide couldn't help but get very excited. When Ye Fei had first decided to go all out against the Qinglong Gang, he had been worried that the Lingyun Society might suffer heavy losses. However, he hadn't expected they'd completely crush their opponents with hardly any effort. It made him feel as if he were witnessing the dawn of Lingyun's rise.

Ye Fei had already anticipated this outco, so he wasn't as excited as Zhang Yide. He just smiled and said, "Since the Qinglong Gang is finished, we should go ahead and recruit all the other small gangs. They may not be strong, but if they start causing trouble, they could beco a real headache."

"Really?" Zhang Yide was even more excited after hearing Ye Fei's words. Though he himself had no major ambitions, unifying Wanghai's underworld had been Mr. Ye's dream back in the day. As Mr. Ye's most loyal old brother, he naturally saw it as his own mission.

During Mr. Ye's and Ye Lingyun's ti, the Lingyun Society had been Wanghai's largest gang, but had never achieved full unification.

In Ye Lingtian's era, things had only gotten worse due to Ye Yu's interference. But all of that was in the past. Now, with Ye Fei in charge, Lingyun would surely achieve sothing unprecedented. How could he not be excited?

He patted his chest and promised, "Boss, don't worry. In less than half a month, I, Zhang Yide, will make sure there isn't a single gang in all of Wanghai besides our Lingyun Club!"

"Good. Once unification is complete, bring the recruits here. I'll help them undergo body transformation!" Ye Fei's ambitions differed from Zhang Yide's. While Zhang Yide only sought to unify Wanghai's underworld, Ye Fei intended to control the entire supercity, with its population of nearly ten million. His ti in the prival forest had solidified this goal.

Though world domination was still far off, his base—Wanghai—needed to be fully secured as soon as possible. He wanted to create an absolutely safe environnt for his loved ones, free of any outside influence. To that end, he planned to turn all newly recruited mbers into masters who were absolutely loyal to him. He believed that with tens of thousands of innate-level super masters defending the city, it would be impossible for any outsider to interfere.

As for the side effects, Ye Fei didn't care at all. When it ca to soone like Li Yun, Ye Fei would consider his feelings—after all, Li Yun was a comrade-in-arms and a trusted elder. But as for outsiders, especially forr enemies, Ye Fei had no reason to care. Once the command was implanted, they would beco absolutely loyal, and naturally wouldn't rebel due to any lingering ideas.

An hour later, the indicator light on the box turned off. Ye Fei knew that Li Yun had completed his transformation and opened the box from the outside.

Li Yun jumped out, stretched his arms, kicked his legs, and asked in disbelief, "I'm really okay now?"

Ye Fei smiled slightly and said, "Of course you are. Or do you think this is a dream? So, Uncle Li, how do you feel?"

"Different?" Li Yun hadn't really paid attention to his physical condition, but now that Ye Fei asked, he clenched his fists and suddenly laughed. "It's very different. I feel like I could take on an armored vehicle singlehandedly!" Excited, he perford a few sorsaults. At that mont, he looked less like a middle-aged special forces captain and more like a child who'd just gotten a new toy.

Take on an armored vehicle? Why not just say he could fight the Transforrs? Ye Fei couldn't help but feel a little speechless. But he understood Li Yun's excitent—after all, when he had first gained his power, he had acted similarly. And Li Yun hadn't even been able to move before this.

After Li Yun recovered, Ye Fei didn't take him away imdiately. While one of them was a soldier and the other a "thief," they were both on the sa side now. Letting them grow closer would benefit them both—at the very least, it would give Zhang Yide one less thing to worry about while dealing with other gangs.

It was nearly dark when the three of them erged from the basent. Ye Fei hadn't planned to go to the military district again, but an unexpected phone call changed his mind.

Seeing Ye Fei take the call and then get into the car, Li Yun couldn't help but ask, "Who was that? Weren't you going ho?"

Ye Fei pulled a bitter face and said, "It was Aunt Dongfang. She found out I took you away without her permission, and I'm afraid she's going to give

a hard ti."

Li Yun frowned. He knew Dongfang Ruolan well. She was a serious person—especially when it ca to her career. After he'd returned to Wanghai, she had personally overseen his treatnt.

Now, without her approval, he had accepted a treatnt from Ye Fei, who had no dical experience. She'd likely view it as reckless and irresponsible. "Then I'll help explain it to her," he said. "Anyway, I've recovered. I think Doctor Dongfang won't be too hard on you."

"No need, I have my own way." Ye Fei quickly replied. The bitter expression he had just shown was mostly a joke. He had plenty of ways to deal with Dongfang Ruolan. Though she was stern professionally, she was relaxed around family—especially with Ye Fei and Ye Yunqi. In fact, she was sowhat doting. As long as he acted cute or begged a little, any anger she had would disappear in no ti.

Ye Fei had this confidence because of the Dongfang family's relationship with his own. Twenty years ago, Dongfang Ruolan had lost her entire family in a tragic incident. The old patriarch of the Liu family had taken her in out of respect for her father, with whom he had been close.

As a result, she beca like a sister to the three Liu sisters—especially Liu Yiru, who was the sa age as her. They were even closer than real siblings. Having never started a family of her own, she treated Liu Yiru's two children like her own.

Although Ye Fei was confident, Li Yun still called his daughter, Li Xiaoyan, to let her know he had recovered. He also asked her to inform Dongfang Ruolan and Miao Xin. Then he started the car and headed for the military area. Now that he was healthy again, he naturally wouldn't let Ye Fei—who didn't even have a driver's license—take the wheel.

As soon as they entered the military hospital's gate, a petite figure rushed up to et them. It was Li Yun's daughter, Li Xiaoyan. Behind her was the smiling Miao Xin.

Though she had received the call earlier, Li Xiaoyan still found it hard to believe. It wasn't until she saw her father looking as energetic as ever that she was finally convinced. Overjoyed, she threw herself into his arms and giggled, "Dad, you're really okay? Congratulations!"

Li Yun patted her head lovingly and smiled. "Yeah, I'm fine. I have to thank Xiaoman for that." He was growing fonder of Ye Fei by the minute. Inwardly, he sighed—it was a pity Ye Fei was already engaged, or he would've been the perfect match for his daughter.

Li Xiaoyan was, of course, grateful to Ye Fei. But when she rembered how he had ignored her that afternoon, she couldn't help but feel a little annoyed. Seeing that her father wanted her to thank him, she quickly changed the subject and said to Ye Fei with a hint of gloating, "Aunt Dongfang is waiting for you in her office."

Ye Fei pretended not to believe her and turned to Miao Xin instead. "Is Aunt Dongfang really waiting for ?"

Miao Xin nodded. "Yes. My godmother asked

to bring you up. Let's go."

Ye Fei smiled and followed Miao Xin into the office building. Watching him ignore her again, Li Xiaoyan was so annoyed she wanted to kick him—but was stopped by her father. She had no choice but to angrily follow him to complete his discharge procedures.

Dongfang Ruolan's dical skills were inherited from her family, and she was the absolute top expert here, so she had excellent accommodations. Her office was a large private room on the second floor.

Miao Xin brought Ye Fei to the door, then stopped and whispered, "Go in yourself—be careful." She knew her godmother's temper well and suspected Ye Fei might get hit. Even she didn't know why she cared about this boy she had only t today.

Ye Fei smiled at Miao Xin, pushed the door open, walked in, then casually closed it behind him and looked toward the woman inside.

It was, of course, Dongfang Ruolan. She was seated at her desk, writing sothing with her head lowered. A few strands of long black hair draped over her cheeks, hiding half her face. But even the visible half was stunningly beautiful. She wore a loose white top, which still couldn't conceal her alluring figure—especially her current seated posture, which bent her body into a seductive curve.

Although Ye Fei had always known she was as beautiful as his mother, the last ti he saw Dongfang Ruolan was a year ago—at a ti when he couldn't appreciate beauty. But now was different. Staring at the stunningly sexy woman, he couldn't help but freeze, his gaze lingering on her ample breasts and full hips, accentuated by the way she was sitting.

Dongfang Ruolan had been born into a dical family and had trained in internal arts. Though her skills were focused on healing rather than combat, they had made her far more alert than ordinary people.

She had noticed Ye Fei the mont he entered. The reason she hadn't acknowledged him was because she had been deliberately ignoring him—she was still angry. In her view, Ye Fei had recklessly treated Li Yun despite having no dical qualifications. Although the results had turned out well, she couldn't easily let it go.

But after a long mont of silence, Ye Fei still hadn't spoken. Dongfang Ruolan finally gave up on ignoring him, set down her pen, and turned around—only to et his hungry gaze.

Fortunately, Ye Fei quickly looked away once he noticed her attention. Dongfang Ruolan didn't think much of it, but continued to look at him with a cold expression.

Looking at her face again, Ye Fei found himself distracted once m
