Mars grinned, "Hee hee! I like you, sister!"

He was pondering: Sister doesn’t like Daddy, what should I do about that?

At four in the afternoon, Laura Quincy left The Hawthorne Villa. Mars stood at the door reluctantly holding her, saying a lot—mostly about her coming early next Saturday morning.

Laura nodded in agreent, "Okay, sister promises you."

Only then did Mars watch her leave. Daddy said that he must take it slowly with her, and cannot scare her away from coming again.

Daddy is so clever!

After Laura left, she called her boyfriend Jasper Hawthorne, "Jasper, let’s have dinner together tonight? I haven’t seen you for more than a week, I miss you..."

Jasper’s tone was not as cheerful as she imagined, "Laura, I have so work to do tonight, you know my job often requires to work overti."

Laura felt a bit disappointed but didn’t insist, "Hmm, rember to eat."

Jasper responded, and after hanging up the phone, he t the eyes of the woman across from him, "Haven’t explained it to her yet?"

His eyes flickered, "I will find a chance to tell her."

Serena Jennings smiled, "That’s good."

Laura glanced at her phone, feeling a bit downcast. Lately, her schedule and Jasper’s never align. When he’s busy, she’s free, and when she’s not available, he has ti.

Sigh...

As it was still early, she called her best friend Nina Pierce, and they arranged to et at a café on the corner of the shopping street.

While waiting for her friend, she idly stared out the window and seemingly caught sight of a back figure very much like her boyfriend Jasper.

She couldn’t help but stand up, shocked to see a woman holding onto his arm next to him, she hurriedly grabbed her bag, intending to chase after them to find out more...

Just as she reached the door, she bumped into Nina who was coming in.

"Laura, what’s wrong?"

"I...seed to see Jasper."

Laura’s face was uncertain, looking a bit unsure and unwilling to believe it was true.

Nina could only comfort her friend, "Laura, maybe you saw wrong."

Laura nodded with a heavy expression, "Maybe! It was just a back view, after all."

The two sat down again, but Laura seed distracted. Seeing her friend’s state, Nina suddenly recalled seeing a familiar silhouette in a movie they watched last ti, which very much resembled Jasper Hawthorne...

Not sure whether or not to ntion it.

Nina stirred her coffee spoon, "How long has it been since you two last t?"

Laura bit her lip, "It’s been over a week, I guess! Last night, he said he was waiting downstairs at my place, but I had already promised Little Mars to have dinner with him, and yesterday was my first day as his tutor. I didn’t want to break my word to a kid... I wanted to et Jasper early today, but he needs to work overti."

Nina stayed silent for a while, "Laura, is there sothing going wrong between you two?"

Laura shook her head, "I don’t know either. We were fine before, it’s just been the last week or two that..."

At the sa ti.

In the fifty-ninth-floor office of the Aegis Group building, Jason Hawthorne was listening to a report from his special assistant Mason Cross.

"BOSS, lately young master Jasper and the third young miss of the Jennings Family have been getting closer, apparently showing signs of developnt."

"Oh? It seems he’s planning to follow the family’s arrangent and give up on... Laura."
