John lifted the cup of tea in front of him and took a light sip, "Instinct rules out any possibility, and it’s impossible to make any definitive judgnt. That’s psychology, it’s not clearly defined, but rather varies from person to person."

He paused, "But one thing’s for sure, Laura Quincy really resists the profession of psychologist. She’s now labeled like this, extrely antagonistic towards . It’s indeed difficult to proceed with subsequent treatnt."

For a mont, the room fell into silence.

John spoke again, "For now, we can only have Mary accompany her more, and perhaps start treatnt once she trusts Mary."

Jason Hawthorne furrowed his brow, "Will this work?"

John sighed, "Other than this thod, there’s no better option right now."

Jason: "..."

In the evening, Laura Quincy took out her phone to charge it. She had expected that after turning it on, she would receive calls from her dorm mates, as she had missed classes for several days.

But—

There were no missed calls from Yasmine Thorne and the others on her phone...

She found Yasmine’s phone number and dialed it.

After ringing for over forty seconds with no answer, the call automatically disconnected.

Laura was a bit stunned, had Yasmine gone to work part-ti at the KTV again tonight?

She imdiately dialed the dormitory’s landline, after it rang for a while, soone finally answered, "Who is it?"

Hearing such an unfamiliar voice, Laura was a bit surprised, "Is Shelly Shaw there?"

The person on the other end grumbled impatiently, "Who’s Shelly Shaw? You’ve got the wrong number!"

Then, with a "pop," they hung up.

Laura couldn’t believe it and checked the phone number again, it was correct! It was their dorm’s phone number, how could there not be soone nad Shelly Shaw?

There were four girls in their dorm, all from different majors. She was closest with Yasmine Thorne because they often went out together to work part-ti.

Shelly Shaw was from Port Sterling, an only child, pampered and raised, her family was wealthy. She studied fashion design, and her dream was to establish her own personal clothing brand.

That’s why she had so many clothes, always walking around like she was at a fashion show, she was also the fashionista of the dorm, cold and aloof, she got along better with another girl from Suthern, Shannon Young.

Shannon Young, a girl from Suthern, with a strong accent in Mandarin but very fluent in Cantonese, had a sister married to a wealthy businessman in Port Sovereign, so she considered herself quite remarkable, always talked about various luxury brands, very snobby.

She looked down on Laura and Yasmine Thorne for working several part-ti jobs all the ti, and she always hung around with Shelly.

After reminiscing, Laura dialed the dorm’s number once more, and it was the sa voice as before, "Hello? Who are you looking for?"

Laura took a deep breath, "I’m looking for Shannon Young."

The person responded, "You’ve got the wrong number! There’s no Shannon Young here!"

Laura hurriedly said, "Excuse , is this not dorm room 302?"

The person nodded, "Yes, it is!"

Laura asked again, "Then what about Yasmine Thorne?"

The person was growing impatient, "Honey! You really got the wrong number! Don’t call again!"

Then, with a "pop," they hung up again.

Laura listened to the "beep-beep" sound coming from her phone and sat stunned on the bed for several seconds. What was going on?

There should be her, Yasmine Thorne, Shelly Shaw, and Shannon Young living in dorm 302, how could the three of them just be gone?

She had confird the phone number just now; it was indeed correct.

What on earth was going on?

Why did she feel as if she had entered so alternate reality...

After being dazed for a few seconds, she decided to call her best friend Nina Pierce, perhaps she could find the answers she was seeking from Nina.

Seeing an incoming call from a friend, Nina Pierce answered without hesitation.

"Laura, where have you been these past few days? Your phone was off every ti I called, I almost thought you went missing!"

Hearing her best friend’s familiar teasing voice, Laura felt a wave of warmth and closeness.

Thankfully, she finally found the correct way to connect...

"Nina, it’s great to hear your voice!"

She exclaid from the bottom of her heart, just earlier she couldn’t find Yasmine and the others, she had almost thought the entire world had abandoned her...

It seems regardless of what happens, Nina will always be there by her side!

Nina laughed, "Listen to yourself, what happened exactly?"

Laura honestly stated, "Nina, I was in a car accident..."

Nina imdiately shouted, "What? A car accident? What happened? Is it serious?"

Her series of concerned words made Laura feel warm inside.

"I’m okay, just superficial wounds, my face is swelled up like a pig’s head, the bruising hasn’t dissipated, but everything else is fine."
