Eric Thorne gave her a puzzled glance, unsure if it was just his illusion or what, but he had a feeling that Sophie Sutton before him seed a bit odd, very different from when she arrived earlier...
"Why aren’t you resisting?"
"Does resisting help?"
Sophie Sutton replied calmly, her expression unruffled, completely different from the fearful and panicked deanor she had earlier.
Eric Thorne sneered, "You’re quite perceptive, knowing that resistance is futile."
Sophie Sutton’s lips curled slightly, forming a smile that was not quite a smile, her tone indifferent, "Of course."
Just two words, but they clearly conveyed her attitude.
Logically, Eric should be pleased that she suddenly beca so obedient and compliant, yet for so reason, the Sophie Sutton before him gave him a strange sense of unfamiliarity...
He had always thought Sophie Sutton was naive and easy to bully, but...
The two walked one behind the other towards the door, and every few steps, Eric would turn around to check if Sophie Sutton was following.
Her attitude and expression made him even more baffled. Can a person change this drastically? She must be deliberately acting indifferent, right!
"Are you deliberately acting indifferent to cover up your inner fear?"
Upon hearing his words, Sophie lazily lifted her eyes to look at him. Her gaze was calm, cool, and sharp, with everything but fear...
"Do n like seeing won scared and panicky? Does it give them a sense of conquest?" She paused, "Or perhaps it triggers so hidden perverse gene within n?"
Her remarks made Eric look at her with new eyes, "So that’s why you act like you don’t care?"
Sophie did not directly answer him and instead stared straight at him, "I asked you first."
Eric suddenly smiled, "So n also like the feisty type of woman."
Sophie raised an eyebrow lightly, dragging her tone, "Oh... so you like the kind and innocent type? And seeing them scared and panicky gives you a sense of accomplishnt?"
Eric stared straight into her eyes, "How co I never knew you had this side?"
Sophie absentmindedly pushed aside the stray hair on her forehead, her voice light and airy, "Well! People do what’s necessary when pushed to a certain point, didn’t you just say I’m quite perceptive?"
Her words were reasonable and flawless.
After another glance at her, Eric looked away. Did he really push her to this? Because he enjoyed her fear earlier, she completely changed her attitude?
Can a person’s personality change so completely?
With questions in mind, Eric opened the car door and let Sophie sit in the passenger seat. He had to have her sit where he could see her, otherwise... he didn’t feel secure.
Sophie had no objection to his arrangent; in fact, she was curious where Eric intended to take her...
About fifteen minutes later, sothing seed to happen up ahead, forcing Eric to stop and wait.
Then, in the next mont, he saw soone he definitely did not want to see...
Asher Thorne, having tracked Eric’s location, rushed over, considering that Eric might leave after receiving his call.
So, this is the scene now.
"Third Brother, what are you doing here?"
Eric didn’t appear panicked at all. Even if his third brother saw Sophie in his car, it couldn’t an anything. They’re both single; he had the right to pursue Sophie, and after all, he was rely driving her, nothing more...
Asher glanced at Sophie sitting in the passenger seat, with her head propped on one hand, a faint smile, her eyes careless with a hint of provocation.
Just one look, and Asher could conclude she was a different Sophie Sutton.
Only a sharp-tongued, strong-willed Sophie would have such an expression and gaze. What did she an by sitting in Eric’s car?
Asher suddenly felt confused...
He cleared his throat and looked towards Sophie in the passenger seat, "Sophie, your second brother is really worried about you, co back with !"
Eric imdiately stopped him, "Third Brother, isn’t this going too far?"
Asher gave Eric a look, "Eric, Sophie isn’t like your previous girlfriends. You’d better stop bothering her in the future."
Though the words were said lightly, Eric could hear the warning in them.
He felt a bit frustrated, "Third Brother, a refined gentleman desires a fair lady, isn’t this ddling too much?"
Asher did not expect him to be so persistent, "Eric, Sophie is my woman. I thought that was clear to you."
Just a single sentence, flaunting intense possessiveness as a man.
Eric’s face fell, "Third Brother, I know Sophie used to have a crush on you, but you really don’t..."
Asher cut him off, "Is your subjective guess enough to count? Do I need to report to you who I like and who I don’t?"
Eric was montarily speechless, "Third Brother, I..."
Asher interrupted coldly, "Enough, I must take Sophie with . You know that the person she likes is . Making a scene for your grandmother’s sake won’t do you any good."
Eric: "..."
