Stella Jennings added, "Do you really think the gates of the Hawthorne Family are so easy to enter? Your current confidence will only beco my joke in the future!"

Laura Quincy turned coldly, her eyes icy, "Is Miss Jennings mocking herself? I’m afraid you’ll never have the chance to enter the gates of the Hawthorne Family!"

Stella Jennings: "..."

She was so furious she couldn’t say a word, her fists clenched involuntarily, nails digging into her skin...

Laura indeed hit her sore spot, but she would also wait to see Laura’s joke!

The gates of the Hawthorne Family are so rigorous, and a woman like Laura dares to dream?

What a fool’s dream!

Sitting in the car sent by Jason Hawthorne to pick her up, Laura felt very calm. In the past, she’d have considered retreating after hearing such words from Stella Jennings, but not this ti!

She and Jason Hawthorne had talked about this topic this morning, and not only did he reassure her, but more importantly, she also figured it out herself. Since she’s decided to trust him, she’ll walk forward firm and fearless!

Upon arriving at the agreed Western restaurant, Jason called to say traffic was a bit congested, advising her to find a place to sit down and wait for them.

Laura replied, "Okay, drive safely."

Once seated, she ordered a cup of coffee and went to the restroom. As she ca out, she bumped into an acquaintance.

Laura felt like she must not have checked the calendar before leaving today!

Jasper Hawthorne also seed surprised to see her; he quickly disentangled the arm of the woman beside him, "Laura, are you eating here with my uncle?"

Laura glanced lightly at the man and woman opposite her. Clearly, this woman wasn’t Serena Jennings; she appeared to be in her early twenties, pure and pretty.

Haha!

"Little girl, don’t you know the man beside you is married?"

Laura’s lips curled into a mocking smile.

The young woman shot her an annoyed look, "Sister, aren’t you being too nosy? You’re dating an older man yourself, yet you boss around? Why don’t you look in the mirror?"

She heard Jasper Hawthorne say "uncle," naturally assuming this "uncle" to be an old man without imdiately realizing this uncle is the ideal husband in the eyes of all won in Aethelburg, Jason Hawthorne...

Laura chuckled in self-mockery. Well! Good intentions taken for granted!

She turned to leave; she really had nothing to say to Jasper Hawthorne.

Jasper, however, reprimanded the girl, "What do you understand? Get lost!"

The girl said with so grievance, "Jasper, what... did I do wrong?"

Jasper impatiently scolded, "Didn’t I say get lost? Don’t you understand?"

The girl imdiately left with indignation, not forgetting to shoot Laura a resentful look, as if she were the culprit of it all.

Laura found the scene amusing; why do won make things difficult for other won?

Jasper said, "Laura, as your ex-boyfriend, I sincerely advise you, you and my uncle are impossible, don’t take it too seriously."

Laura looked at him coolly, "Thanks for your concern, Eldest Young Master Hawthorne. I know what to do with my own affairs; you should worry about yourself!"

After turning and leaving, Laura took a deep breath. Despite the long breakup, it was the only ti she felt Jasper’s last words were truly sincere advice for her.

Unfortunately, she no longer planned to turn back.

The girl, after walking a few steps, suddenly realized Laura looked familiar, and wasn’t Jasper’s uncle Jason Hawthorne?

When Laura returned to her seat, Jason had just entered holding his son, Justin Hawthorne. He noticed her odd expression and asked, "What’s wrong?"

Laura took a sip of coffee, "I just ran into soone I didn’t want to see, it’s nothing!"

With Justin present, Jason didn’t ask further. Laura didn’t want to see them, and it’s easy to guess which few that could be.

Justin didn’t understand these affairs between adults, joyfully imrsed in the happiness of seeing Laura, chattering non-stop.

At his urging, Laura agreed to visit the Hawthorne Villa in the evening.

Who would have thought that upon entering, they’d see a woman dressed like an aristocratic lady sitting on the living room sofa, and Laura instantly had a bad premonition...

Justin cheerfully hopped over, "Grandma, why are you here!"

Jason called out, "Mom."

Laura politely greeted, "Hello, Auntie."

A woman’s intuition told Laura that Jason’s mother really didn’t like her...

Eleanor Ford’s heart surged with great dissatisfaction upon seeing Laura enter with her son and grandson, but, constrained by her beloved grandson’s presence, she couldn’t lose her temper. She could only grudgingly let out a cold snort, neither responding nor completely rejecting.

Justin gleefully ran in front of Grandma, "Grandma, this is the sister I always talk about. I really like her; please don’t scare her!"

He said earnestly, a child although not understanding the adult world, isn’t entirely ignorant...

Eleanor said, "You call her sister? How should she address you and your daddy then?"

Justin blinked, "Daddy said it’s just a term, Auntie. If Grandma doesn’t like calling her ’sister,’ then I’ll call her ’Mommy’ instead."

Laura was speechless...

Eleanor was even more furious, "Who taught you to call ’Mommy’? ’Mommy’ isn’t sothing you randomly call!"

She suddenly raised her voice, startling Justin to step back, looking at her with so unfamiliarity...

"Grandma..."

Eleanor realized she shouldn’t lose her temper in front of her grandson, hurriedly softening her tone, "Be good, Twinkle. Grandma is only afraid you’ll be deceived; not everyone in this society is as simple as you think..."

Laura’s complexion pale; she understood that Mrs. Hawthorne’s words implicitly implied she was a bad woman.

Jason impatiently interrupted his mother, "Mom, Twinkle is only five years old; why are you talking about this? If there’s nothing else, please go back!"

Eleanor imdiately shot her son a dissatisfied look, "Jason, is this how you speak to your mother? Your mom misses you and Twinkle and cos to see you, but you want to send away?"

Jason was sowhat helpless, "Mom, that’s not what I ant."

Laura felt the atmosphere was truly awkward, and couldn’t help but say softly, "I should leave."

"No!"

Jason and Justin almost spoke in unison, showing unexpected harmony between one grown-up and one child.

Eleanor was almost infuriated...

What’s going on here?

Her son was bewitched by this fem fatale, and even her beloved grandson was won over by her?

What special charm does she really have?
