"Yes."
Mason Cross was just about to turn and leave when he was stopped again, "How much of what she said do you think was truth, and how much was lies?"
Mason pondered briefly, "I believe Miss Quincy is indeed different from those won before her. She hasn’t been blindly trying to curry favor with the young master, nor has she been trying to find out anything about you from him. On the contrary, she seems quite troubled by your misunderstanding of her..."
Jason Hawthorne let out a cold snort, "That’s her cleverness at work!"
Mason did not refute the boss’s view, "I do have a suggestion. The more restless a person is, the more they should be kept close to keep an eye on. That way, her every move can be controlled."
Jason’s fingers lightly tapped the table, "Go on."
Mason nodded, "The young master’s nanny position has always been hard to fill, why not let Miss Quincy take care of the young master..."
Jason spoke coldly, "It’s right to keep her close, but not so close to Twinkle."
Mason was a bit puzzled, what did the boss an?
"Send her resu to my email."
"Yes."
After Mason left, Jason called his private doctor, John, "I rember you saying that your hypnosis techniques are unparalleled in the world, with a very small chance of recollection."
John nodded confidently, "Of course!"
Jason frowned, "Find so ti to co back, I need you to help confirm sothing."
John paused, "Is it that the woman who gave birth to Twinkle... has appeared?"
Jason nodded, "Yes."
Early the next morning, warm golden sunlight filtered through the gaps in the curtains, gently spilling into the room and creating a cozy atmosphere perfect for sleep.
Asleep in bed, Laura Quincy seed to dream of sothing, suddenly crying out in agony, "No!"
Then—
She abruptly opened her eyes and stared at the ceiling. It was her familiar room, not the heavily European-styled bedroom from her dream...
In the dream, she lived in a luxurious seaside villa, where every night a man would co to her room. Though she couldn’t clearly see what the man looked like, she could sense his dangerous presence...
What nonsense was she thinking about! Wasn’t it just a ridiculous spring dream?
Laura raked her fingers through her disheveled hair. Just as she was about to get out of bed, her phone rang. It was an unfamiliar number. She hesitated for a long mont before answering.
"Hello? Who is this?"
"Is this Laura Quincy? I’m Manager Ulman from the Aegis Group’s HR departnt. Our translation departnt is currently in need of soone who understands English, French, Italian, and Arabic. We’re interested in extending an offer to Miss Quincy. Do you have ti for an interview at 10 a.m. today?"
"..."
Laura thought she must have heard wrong. She pulled the phone away and looked at it again. No mistake! She wasn’t dreaming!!
Manager Ulman, not hearing a response, asked again, "Miss Quincy, are you listening?"
Laura quickly nodded, "I am, you said 10 a.m.? I’ll definitely be there!"
Manager Ulman smiled, "Good, looking forward to your presence."
Hanging up, Laura pinched her face hard. It hurt! Soone actually inford her about an interview? And it was the HR manager from Aegis Group?
Suddenly, she thought of sothing; Aegis Group? Isn’t that Jason Hawthorne’s company? Could he have realized the misunderstanding and decided to hire her despite it?
Shaking her head, she decided not to worry about it. Right now, the most important thing for her was to get a job to support herself, otherwise she wouldn’t be able to afford the car loan each month.
