Chapter 560: The Uncomfortable Emotions

Xue Wei and Lan looked around their surroundings. They had already decided to search for the cause of their manipulated feelings, but they felt sowhat helpless.

Lan was especially puzzled. He was already a deity; although his strength was rely comparable to those who had comprehended a minor dao, he was still not an easy target if soone wished to target his mind.

When he compared his own state to Xue Wei’s, he found it even more inconceivable that the two of them seed very equal in reaction. It was as if their manipulation had nothing to do with their strength and that no matter how strong they were, they would be unable to guard against this unknown phenonon.

This kind of experience was new to Lan, and while he felt how dangerous it was, he also experienced an excitent he had not felt for countless of years. The thrill was very satisfying, even though it also caused him to walk on the line of death.

Xue Wei was unaware of Lan’s thoughts. He kept searching the area with his eyes, trying to find a clue as to where the feeling ca from, and suddenly he felt as if his heart tightened while looking in a specific direction.

"There is sothing over there." Xue Wei pointed towards the direction that made his heart clench.

"It looks pretty much the sa as any other direction," Lan comnted while slowly moving forward. Although he did not know why Xue Wei wished to walk that way, he did not oppose to his decision. To him, it was the sa no matter where they went.

"There is sothing in that direction. I do not know what it is, but it makes my heart palpitate."

Xue Wei did not try to hide the strange feeling that had overwheld him, but his brows did furrow while trying to understand the feeling.

"Is it trembling in fear or excitent?" Lan observed the surroundings while they slowly made their way towards the direction that Xue Wei had pointed out. Even so, he still tried to understand the feeling that Xue Wei had experienced. The more they understood, the more they could prepare for what they would encounter.

"I don’t know." Xue Wei shook his head regretfully. "It is a strange feeling of wanting to go there but not daring. It is as if my heart is excited but also fearful. There is sothing that calls for to arrive as soon as possible, but I also fear what I might find."

Xue Wei knew that his thoughts were ssy and that his explanation was quite bad, but he did not know how to describe it.

"The fear I feel is not the kind of fear of death. It is also not the fear of sothing dangerous. Instead, it is a fear of regret and disappointnt."

The feeling was very foreign to Xue Wei. He had previously been confused due to his mixed blood and heritage, but even so, he had tried to live a life without regrets. Even when looking back on his past, there were very few things that he regretted, but he had already accepted these episodes, so why was this sudden uncomfortable feeling growing inside of him?

The strange feeling grew more and more intense as they advanced. At the start, it was not noticeable, but after walking for a day, he felt as if sothing was calling for him. Lan had been silent throughout the day. He had been very vigilant, but the majority of his focus had been on Xue Wei. While it took so ti for the younger man to realize the changes that were happening around him, Lan noticed it right away.

He had not ntioned it earlier, as it did not seem to do any harm to Xue Wei, but he was still very curious as to what could have such an influence on Xue Wei.

He also felt that the strange behavior that this young man showed was very different from the hallucinations that the ghosts were showing previously.

Could it be that the ghosts would react in one way to the phenonon while living beings would behave differently?

He, too, felt a weird emotion stir within him, but it seed that the emotion he felt was very constant. It had not changed from when he first experienced it, but Xue Wei’s seed to evolve the further they went.

It was hard to say if this change in emotions with Xue Wei was due to him closing in on whatever caused the change in feelings or if it was simply because he had spent more ti in this strange area.

Xue Wei felt his mind was bursting with mixed inputs. His rational mind tried to calm him down, but the excitent had even managed to spread to his blood, causing it to boil in anticipation.

The feeling of fear of being disappointed had slowly beco less and less, while the excitent had grown to a level where he could hardly control it.

It was obvious that sothing was wrong. He was usually cautious, but right now, it required all his energy to withstand the urge to let go of all thoughts and rush to the source of this feeling.

He could not help but fear that his senses would completely disappear, causing him to beco nothing more than a fool that could no longer control his own actions.

"Can you knock out? I need to rest my mind."

Having made a decision, Xue Wei glanced at Lan. He had complete faith that this trickster would be able to make him lose consciousness instantly.
