Maybe he should just forget it.

Let it remain a spooky tale; it was a unique characteristic of the school. After all, which school didn't have its own ghost stories?

The thought of having a ghost in his house made Ye Chuan feel uneasy.

It would be inconvenient for his… "private ti."

Just then, another notification popped up on his phone—

[New Main Mission issued: Recruit 2 tenants (1/2)]

Ye Chuan froze. A main mission?

Thinking of the generous rewards…

"Besides, with a gluttonous immortal at ho, what trouble could a little ghost cause?" Ye Chuan imdiately stood up.

Forget it, earning money and getting rewards was more important!

It was nightti, so he might as well go to school now.

Under the cover of darkness, Ye Chuan hurried out.

Night, Silver Mountain Academy.

A cold wind blew.

Moonlight bathed the school, casting a silver veil over the empty teaching buildings, adding a touch of eeriness.

A car stopped outside the school, and two people got out.

A man and a woman.

"Hey, Yanran, is this Silver Mountain Academy?" The man, in his early twenties, dressed casually, asked the girl beside him, who was about the sa age.

"This school is so big, how are we going to find that wild ghost?"

The short-haired woman beside him, dressed in a black leather jacket, said indifferently,

"As a superpowered warrior specializing in ghost control, the Wang family naturally has its ways of finding ghosts. You just need to subdue it for , and I'll give you your reward."

"Subduing a ghost is easy, but I can't even see it."

Wang Yanran took out a bottle of water. Inside the transparent plastic bottle, a yellow talisman was floating in the liquid. She handed it to the man.

"Here, drink this, and you'll be able to see ghosts temporarily."

"I have to drink this thing?" Zhang Chao looked at the strange liquid with disgust.

"Zhang Chao, you can go ho now if you don't want to do this!" Wang Yanran said coldly.

"Tch."

After reluctantly drinking the talisman water, Zhang Chao made a pained sound, like soone swallowing bitter dicine, his rugged features contorted.

Wang Yanran took out a compass and looked at the direction it was pointing.

"Follow ."

"Ugh… okay."

They quickly made their way through the school grounds. The school was quiet at night. Since this was the high school section, all the students had gone ho. The boarding students lived in the university section, about a kiloter away.

"Here." Wang Yanran stopped, looking at the compass needle and then at the sign on the building.

"It's here? Doesn't feel very creepy," Zhang Chao said.

"It's just a low-level ghost, it doesn't even have a noticeable aura," Wang Yanran said. But for so reason, looking at the building in front of her, she felt uneasy, as if sothing was watching them from the shadows.

"If it's just a low-level ghost, why did you need to bring along?" Zhang Chao grinned.

"This is my assessnt. My spirit companion has been temporarily sealed by my elders," Wang Yanran said, annoyed.

If that wasn't the case, she wouldn't need to hire soone to deal with a low-level ghost.

"Let's go."

They entered the building and began their search.

After searching several floors without any results, every classroom was silent. They even checked the bathrooms thoroughly, still nothing.

"Damn, this school is luxurious, even tablets on the desks?"

"Shh."

After searching the fifth floor without any luck, Zhang Chao was about to complain when he suddenly heard a faint crying sound coming from upstairs.

The sound was chilling, sending shivers down his spine.

A cold gust of wind blew, making their hearts race.

Zhang Chao and Wang Yanran exchanged glances and imdiately ran upstairs!

Their footsteps echoed as they reached the fifth floor. They slowed down, cautiously observing their surroundings.

Even a low-level ghost could be troubleso if they weren't careful.

"Found it!" A smirk appeared on Wang Yanran's lips as her gaze fell on one of the classrooms.

Zhang Chao imdiately rushed forward and pulled the door open. A chilling air rushed out, and he saw a "person" standing right in front of him!

She was wearing a school uniform, a long-haired girl with a voluptuous figure that even the uniform couldn't hide.

Her hair covered one of her eyes, and the moonlight streaming through the window illuminated her pale skin.

"Whoa, a pretty female ghost?!" As soon as Zhang Chao finished speaking, the female ghost froze, took a few steps back, and asked in a voice as soft as a mosquito,

"You… can see ?"

She seed delighted. "That's great!"

"Not only can I see you, but I'm also going to beat you up," Zhang Chao grinned, seeing the ghost talk to him.

The ghost clearly froze, then took a few more steps back. "We… don't have any grudges, do we?"

She retreated again.

In just a few words, she had almost reached the back wall of the classroom.

"Don't even think about running." Wang Yanran snorted coldly, took out a talisman, and slapped it onto the wall.

An invisible red net flickered, and the mont the female ghost's back touched the wall, she scread, a burning pain searing where she touched it.

"Ah?!"

She collapsed to the ground, looking at the wall behind her in disbelief.

The wall, which she could normally pass through, now had a barrier, and it hurt!

"W-we don't have any grudges! Did you find the wrong person, I an, the wrong ghost?" The female ghost's eyes welled up with tears, and she started sobbing.

But the tears streaming down her face were tears of blood, dripping onto the floor, a chilling sight.

"Surrender," Wang Yanran said coldly.

The female ghost froze, then took out a small white flag from sowhere and waved it.

"Um… I-I'm afraid of pain, please don't hit , okay?"

"I surrender, I surrender…"

"Please don't hit …"

"Hmph, you ghosts are all good at pretending." Wang Yanran, seeing the female ghost's attempt to appear weak, looked at Zhang Chao as if she had seen this countless tis.

"Kill her. I just need her spirit essence."

"Alright." Zhang Chao cracked his knuckles, a cruel smile spreading across his face.

"I'm not pretending!" The female ghost trembled like a leaf. "Can we talk? I-I have money."

In the next second, Zhang Chao lunged forward, his fist smashing down, crushing the chair in front of the female ghost!

"Eek?!!!" The female ghost was terrified, almost crying.

"Hehe."
