Cold War between Mr. and Mrs Vaughn: He Regretted when Divorce Chapter 75: Sleeping in Each Other’s Arms
Eugene Vaughn cleared his hoarse voice and said, "For sleeping, it’s important to wear sothing comfortable. I just checked and felt it was too tight, so I didn’t bring it for you."
Victoria Sinclair closed the bathroom door without replying.
She normally didn’t wear a bra to bed.
In a mont, Victoria erged from the bathroom, moving awkwardly.
Eugene stood up, and Victoria quickly stepped back. Since her period coincidentally started, her heart was filled with disappointnt and guilt. "I should go back to my room to sleep."
Eugene stepped in front of her, holding her hand with one hand and gently touching her damp long hair with the other, "Are you going to sleep with wet hair?"
"I’ll just blow-dry it in my room."
Eugene didn’t give her a chance to refuse, pulling her back into the bathroom and taking out the hairdryer to dry her hair.
Victoria didn’t dare to move, standing in front of the mirror, watching herself and him behind her.
Eugene was a head taller than her, gently and carefully blow-drying her hair, with every movent reflected in the mirror.
Because her nightdress was quite thin, she wasn’t wearing anything underneath. As soon as Eugene lifted his eyes to look in the mirror, he could see her voluptuous silhouette.
A bit embarrassing.
Victoria quickly turned around to face Eugene.
Eugene paused in his blow-drying, looking at her dark hair, which cascaded over her shoulders.
The two were very close, and Eugene couldn’t see her face and body, but the pleasant scent of her hair was particularly clear.
It slled even better than his shampoo.
Although they used the sa brand of shower gel and shampoo, why did it sll different on Victoria?
This fragrance was particularly unique and captivating.
Eugene gently lifted her silky long hair with his slender fingers, his actions incredibly gentle and light, his gaze warm.
In the bathroom, only the soft sound of the hair dryer and their heartbeats could be heard.
This ambiguous atmosphere, without a single word, was more intoxicating than sweet nothings.
Victoria secretly glanced up at him.
The man’s jawline was as sharp as if it were carved, his handso features were captivating, making it hard to look away.
His gaze lowered, catching Victoria’s sneaky glance at him.
Victoria dropped her eyes in embarrassnt, focusing on his chest, her heart pounding like a deer, even her ears heating up.
Eugene smiled lightly, his voice especially gentle and delicate, "Am I good-looking?"
Victoria pressed her lips into a smile, nodding lightly.
"Is there a man better looking than ?" Eugene continued to ask.
This question was a bit narcissistic, leaving Victoria quite shocked.
From a purely aesthetic viewpoint, so male celebrities were extraordinarily handso on screen.
Yet, from her personal opinion, he was already very handso.
Victoria sincerely said, "Yes."
Eugene frowned slightly, looking down at her, his voice sowhat deep, "Who?"
"My brother, he’s just as good-looking as you." Victoria said nervously.
Eugene’s face brightened instantly, continuing to dry her hair with a hint of a smile, "Your brother can be better looking, after all, you’re twins, with similar attractive features."
"If I said soone else, would you be jealous?" Victoria looked up at him expectantly.
Eugene pretended to be upset, "What do you think?"
The aning was pretty obvious.
Victoria felt a sweet pleasure in her heart, her lips curling up with a smile, summoning a courage from who knows where, lifting her hands gently, embracing Eugene’s firm waist.
Her soft body pressed against him, her face buried in his chest, eyes closed tightly as she hugged him.
Eugene’s body froze, tensing up without moving, his chest rising and falling rapidly, breathing becoming deep and heavy, looking down at Victoria in his arms.
"Your heartbeat is so fast." Victoria said shyly and playfully, her voice soft and tender.
Their skins were both very warm, and through the thin nightclothes, they could clearly feel each other’s body temperature, so intimately close.
Eugene let his hand holding the hairdryer fall, while the other touched the back of her head, tilting his head back slightly for a deep breath.
After a long mont, Victoria didn’t seem to want to let go.
Eugene’s Adam’s apple moved, his voice a little husky with desire, "Victoria, I like it when you hug like this, but your body is too soft, I can barely handle it."
Victoria’s face instantly flushed from head to toe, embarrassed and heated, feeling her heart leaping to her throat, quickly releasing him and stepping back.
She had forgotten she wasn’t wearing a bra.
Also, Eugene was already tornted by desire with no outlet, and it just so happened she was on her period, she should have kept a distance, yet she went and embraced him herself.
This was no different than teasing him.
The atmosphere beca instantly intimate and enchanting, the soft white light in the bathroom illuminating Victoria’s blush, with a sweet aroma lingering in the air.
With her hair dry, Eugene put away the hairdryer, "All done."
"Thank you," Victoria said softly, turning to leave the bathroom.
She stood in the room, glanced at the big bed, then walked towards the door.
Eugene ca out, catching up to her with big strides, unexpectedly embracing her from behind, his firm arms wrapping over her shoulder and collarbone.
Startled, she shrank, placing her hands on the arms holding her, her nerves going taut, breathing irregular.
Eugene bent down, with his face next to her ear, his warm breath brushing her cheek, his magnetically low voice sounding like both a command and a plea, "Don’t go."
"It’s really late; I have to go to the hospital to look after my nephew tomorrow. I want to sleep," Victoria’s voice was heated, flustered, soft.
Eugene moved his face around her clean fragrant long hair, his thin lips seemingly about to kiss her ear through her hair, "Sleep with tonight."
Victoria’s ears tingled, her whole body tingling with a subtle chemical reaction, shy and intolerable, "You know I’m not well these few days."
Eugene chuckled lightly, "I’m not that desperately crazy."
Victoria misunderstood, feeling very embarrassed inside.
Eugene seed sowhat helpless, "We’ll just sleep together, nothing else."
Victoria was so softened she couldn’t refuse, nodding her head.
Eugene released her, taking her hand, leading her to the foot of the bed, with one hand in his pocket looking at the big bed, "Do you sleep on the left or right?"
"It doesn’t matter."
"It can’t be random, once chosen, no changing."
The ntion of ’future’ gave Victoria a newfound anticipation, pointing to the side by the balcony.
Eugene led her over, "Is it alright if we share the sa blanket?"
"Yes."
Eugene let go of her hand, walked around to the other side of the bed, and lifted the blanket to lie down.
Victoria hesitated, standing stiffly at the edge of the bed, unable to let go.
Even though they’d been married for two years, it was their first ti sleeping together, and her introverted nature was sowhat reserved.
Eugene lay on his side, lifting the blanket for her.
Victoria mustered her courage, sitting down and slowly lying back.
Soon as she lay down, Eugene’s arm ca over, placing it under her pillow.
Victoria’s neck landed on Eugene’s arm.
Before she could react, Eugene turned on his side, tightening his arm to pull Victoria into his embrace.
Against his chest, Victoria inhaled the faint fragrance on him, a pleasant and warm scent that quickened her heartbeat, warmth spreading through her body.
Eugene held her tight, burying his face in her hair, breathing deeply.
All that was left in the quiet room were their uneven heartbeats.
On the vast bed, they lay on their sides, nestled in a small space.
Too nervous to sleep, Victoria asked quietly, "Should we turn off the lights?"
Eugene reached for the switch by the bed, pressing it to dim the room, leaving only a soft golden night lamp.
Victoria couldn’t fall asleep, perhaps because Eugene’s scent was too alluring, or his body too firm and warm.
In his arms, she murmured softly, "Eugene, did you know Vivian Miller had depression before?"
