By the ti Su Qinglan entered the stone house, Hu Yan and Han Jue had already finished arranging everything inside.
The house was warm and spacious. Compared to the wooden house they had lived in before, this one felt much sturdier. The stone walls blocked out the cold wind outside, making the entire place feel safe and comfortable.
The males had even expanded the house considerably.
Originally, they had planned to build a separate small house for the cubs. After all, they now had far too many children. The three older boys, a lion cub, a fox cub, twin wolf sisters And the little daughter who was still staying inside the incubator.
Their family had beco unbelievably lively.
The males felt that with so many cubs around, they would constantly disturb Su Qinglan’s rest. So they had suggested letting the children sleep in the neighboring house once it was finished.
The mont Su Qinglan heard that idea, she had imdiately opposed it.
Absolutely not. How could she let her babies sleep in another house while she stayed here?
Just imagining it made her uncomfortable. Perhaps it was because she ca from a different world. Perhaps it was because her way of thinking was different from the beast world.
But she simply could not bear the thought of waking up in the middle of the night and not being able to imdiately see her children.
In the end, the matter was settled by her alone. The cubs would stay inside this house. No discussions allowed. Thinking about that now, Su Qinglan couldn’t help smiling.
The children’s room had beco quite crowded. But she preferred it that way. That was what a large family felt like.
anwhile, the cubs had already rushed toward their room. Excited shouts imdiately echoed throughout the house.
"I’m sleeping here!"
"No! That’s my place!"
"Move over!"
"My little sister needs space!"
The sounds of arguing, laughing, and howling filled the air. Even the incubator was carefully carried into the children’s room by Shi Feng.
The mont everything was settled, Shi Feng turned around and looked at Su Qinglan. His brows imdiately furrowed.
The tip of her nose was red from the cold. Without saying a word, he walked over and grabbed her hand. It was cold.
Before Su Qinglan could react, she was already being guided into their room. The next mont, Shi Feng sat down on the bed and gently pulled her into his lap.
A large animal hide was wrapped around both of them. Instantly, warmth surrounded her. Only her face remained visible.
Su Qinglan blinked. "What are you doing?"
Shi Feng looked down at her. "Warming you up." His tone was serious. "You never take care of yourself."
Su Qinglan opened her mouth, but Shi Feng continued speaking.
"You just gave birth."
"Do you know how weak your body is right now?"
"I already let you walk outside today."
"And now you’ve already caught a chill."
As he spoke, he took her hands between his own larger palms and gently rubbed them, trying to chase away every trace of coldness. His expression made it seem as though she had contracted so terrible illness.
Su Qinglan couldn’t help laughing. Yet the laughter quickly softened. Because she knew why he was acting this way.
In the beast world, winter was dangerous. Even strong beastn could struggle after becoming sick from the cold.
As for females...the consequences were often much worse.
Shi Feng wasn’t overreacting. He was genuinely worried.
Su Qinglan looked at him quietly for a mont. Then she slowly snuggled deeper into his embrace. The warmth from his body imdiately surrounded her. It was much warr than the hide.
"This isn’t how you warm soone," she mumbled.
Shi Feng looked down.
"Hm?"
Before he could answer, she moved even closer. Their bodies pressed together under the sa hide. Shi Feng stiffened. He tried not to breathe too loudly.
Su Qinglan nuzzled her face against his shoulder and kissed his shoulder blade gently through his clothes.
When he still did not move much, she got a little angry. She opened her mouth and bit his shoulder lightly.
"Ah!" Shi Feng let out a surprised shout. He looked down at her with wide eyes. "What are you doing?"
Su Qinglan smiled sweetly. "I am trying to warm myself. This is how we do it in my way."
Suddenly, their clothes loosened. With quick movents, everything slipped away. Su Qinglan found herself lying on the warm bed. Shi Feng had pinned her down. His eyes looked at her with a strong, predatory gaze. Her heart skipped a beat. She felt excited and safe at the sa ti.
Shi Feng growled low in his throat. "Lan Lan, don’t tease . This is not the ti. You are still weak."
But Su Qinglan did not listen. She wrapped her legs around his waist and pulled him closer. Her hands moved over his back. "I feel fine now," she whispered. "You are the one who needs to warm properly."
Shi Feng tried to hold back, but her touch and her words broke his control. He lowered his head and kissed her deeply.
Their lips moved together softly at first, then with more heat. His hands road over her body, careful not to press too hard on her still-tender places. He rubbed her arms again, then her shoulders, then lower. Every touch was full of care and love.
"You are so precious to ," he murmured against her neck. "I worry every day about you and the cubs. After giving birth to five more, your body needs rest. But you always push yourself."
Su Qinglan smiled and ran her fingers through his hair. "I know you worry. But being close to you makes stronger. This is the best dicine for , silly lion."
Shi Feng blinked at her words.
"dicine?" he repeated, looking genuinely confused. "How is this dicine?"
Su Qinglan stared at him for a second before a laugh escaped her lips.
"You really don’t understand?"
Shi Feng frowned slightly and shook his head.
Seeing his serious expression, Su Qinglan couldn’t hold it in anymore. She burst into giggles, her shoulders trembling against his chest.
"You are really silly."
"Hm?"
"Even a cub is smarter than you sotis."
Shi Feng looked even more confused.
Su Qinglan reached up and poked his forehead lightly. "I was saying that being close to you makes happy. When I’m happy, I feel better. That’s why it’s dicine."
Realization finally dawned on his face.
"Oh."
His response was so simple that Su Qinglan laughed even harder.
"See? Silly lion."
Shi Feng’s ears turned slightly red. Yet instead of arguing, he simply lowered his head and pressed a gentle kiss against her forehead.
"If being with makes you feel better," he said quietly, wrapping his arms more securely around her, "then I’ll stay by your side every day."
Su Qinglan’s smile softened.
"Good. That’s exactly what I want. I want you to love , my silly lion."
