Chapter 513: Chapter 513: Engagent with a Monster
On the other hand, Lan Yue’s second beast husband, Tang Wu, ca running inside their room. He had already gotten the news of the arrival of the Fox Beast City Lord.
Everyone knew about the old engagent between the City Lord of Fox Beast City and the Priestess’s daughter, Lan Yue.
Most importantly, Father Lan Shun had already told him everything. That man had co here to take her back.
Father Lan Shun did not want to send his daughter to such a bloodthirsty monster. So they were deciding to send Lan Yue back to the sea tribe in the dead of night.
On the other hand, Lan Yue sat on the soft beast hide inside their room. She was playing gently with her little baby, the orca fish.
The little fry had grown quite a bit. His black and white body looked stronger now. He swam around happily in the large wooden tub they had prepared for him.
Her first beast husband, Bo Jian, sat beside her. He watched them with soft eyes. "He is getting bigger every day," Bo Jian said quietly.
"We always take him to the river to play, but it is still not enough. The river feels too small for him."
Lan Yue smiled as she dipped her fingers into the water.
Splash!
Splash!
The little orca fish nuzzled against her hand, making small splashing sounds.
"Yes, you are right. He is the apex predator of the sea. He needs open water to grow strong and healthy. We cannot keep him in a cramped bowl or even in the river here forever."
Bo Jian nodded slowly. "We have already decided. We really should go back to the sea soon. His life will be much easier there. He will swim freely and beco powerful."
They were still discussing the plan when the door suddenly opened.
Lan Yue’s second beast husband, Tang Wu, ca running inside. His face looked urgent.
"Lan Yue!"
Tang Wu said quickly as he stepped closer.
"The City Lord of Fox Beast City has arrived. He is already in Dragon Beast City."
Lan Yue froze. Her hand stopped moving in the water. She turned pale instantly, her face losing all color.
Fear filled her eyes.
"What... what did you say?" she whispered, her voice shaking.
Tang Wu nodded, breathing heavily.
"It is true. Father Lan Shun has already told
everything. That man ca here to take you back. The old engagent... Everyone knows about it. Your father does not want to send you to such a bloodthirsty monster. He is planning to send you back to the sea tribe tonight, in the dead of night."
Lan Yue’s hands trembled. She looked at the little orca fish swimming innocently in the tub, then back at Tang Wu.
Her face stayed pale with fear. "He... he is really here? For ?"
Bo Jian’s expression turned serious. He put a protective hand on Lan Yue’s shoulder.
"Do not be afraid. We will not let him take you. We have already decided to leave for the sea. The little fry needs the ocean anyway. This is the perfect ti to go."
Tang Wu sat down beside them. "Yes. We will prepare lightly and slip away quietly when it is dark. No one will notice. The Fox Beast City Lord will not be able to stop us once we are gone."
But Lan Yue kept trembling hard. Her whole body shook as fear gripped her heart.
She could not calm down no matter how they tried to console her.
Finally, she blurted out in a shaky whisper, "I think... that man is not simple. The last ti we were attacked... when Bo Jian almost lost his life... I think it was him. He sent those people to attack us."
Her voice was filled with worry as she spoke.
Both n’s eyes widened in shock. Bo Jian’s grip on her hand tightened. "What? It was him?" he asked, his voice low and stunned.
Tang Wu looked equally surprised.
"How could he be so ruthless? Trying to kill his own future mate... and her husbands? If Lan Yue really mates with him, would that not make us his family too? What kind of twisted intentions does that man have?"
Lan Yue continued in a trembling whisper, "On one side, he wants to beco my mate... but on the other side, he tries to kill
along with my husbands."
Everyone knew she was also gravely injured in that ambush. If not for the protection talisma from her mother that sent her far away from the fighting area, she would have been gravely injured.
Bo Jian’s face turned dark with anger. He pulled Lan Yue closer and wrapped his arms around her protectively. "That bastard... How dare he? He almost took you away from ... from all of us."
Tang Wu clenched his fists tightly. His eyes burned with fury.
"So the attack was not random. It was planned by that fox all along. He is even more dangerous than we thought. No wonder your father wants to send you away in secret tonight."
Lan Yue leaned against Bo Jian, still shaking. "I am scared... What if he finds out we are leaving? What if he tries to stop us? He is powerful... and cruel. He smiles while doing terrible things."
Bo Jian stroked her hair gently to calm her. "Do not worry, Lan Yue. We will be very careful. We will leave quietly when it is completely dark. Your father has already made the arrangents. The sea tribe will keep us safe once we reach there."
Tang Wu nodded firmly. "And the little fry will finally have the ocean he needs. He cannot grow strong trapped in rivers or bowls. This is the best decision for all of us."
Lan Yue looked at her little orca fish swimming peacefully in the tub.
A small tear slipped down her cheek. "I just want us to be safe... I do not want that man anywhere near our family."
She almost felt devastated once again when she rembered that she had been all alone on a strange mountain, just waiting to die, if not for Sister Qinglan’s mate, who had saved her. She really did not want to imagine what would have happened to her.
Bo Jian kissed the top of her head softly. "We will be safe. Tonight we leave Dragon Beast City behind. No one will know until we are already far away."
Tang Wu stood up and started gathering their few belongings. "I will prepare everything lightly. We cannot take much, or it will slow us down. The journey to the sea will be long, but it is better than staying here."
