Chapter 451: Chapter 451: Dangling Between Truth and Death”
Morning sunlight slowly spread across the forest of rmaid Island, painting everything in a calm golden glow. The air should have been peaceful and refreshing, but unfortunately for one poor spiritual plant, the atmosphere nearby was anything but calm.
Under a tall tree stood four extrely angry n, their expressions dark and oppressive. And hanging helplessly from that sa tree... was Stove.
His two long vines were tightly tied to the branches above, leaving him dangling awkwardly in the air like a pitiful decoration.
His small leafy body swayed left and right with every slight movent of the wind as he stared down at the furious faces below him.
Stove gulped loudly, the sound echoing awkwardly. His leaves trembled uncontrollably.
Behind a nearby bush, his little flower wife carefully peeked out, her eyes wide with shock at his miserable condition. When Stove noticed her staring at him like that, he nearly burst into tears on the spot.
My macho image... it’s completely finished...
At that mont, he felt as though his entire plant life had been utterly ruined beyond repair.
"How dare you people tie
up like this!" Stove shouted angrily while struggling against the vines. "Do I look like so lantern hanging on a festival tree?!"
However, none of the four n showed even the slightest reaction.
Instead, their expressions only grew colder and more dangerous.
Stove imdiately shrank back in fear.
Xuan Long crossed his arms calmly and looked up at him with sharp, piercing eyes. "Then explain sothing," he said coldly. "Last night, when we wanted to go out, why did you stop us?"
Stove froze instantly. His leaves stiffened like dried grass in the wind.
"Also," Han Jue added with a faint but chilling smile, "why did you say she would be back soon?"
Stove swallowed nervously again. Because... he had indeed said exactly that.
At that mont, he cursed soone deeply inside his heart. "Master! You unreliable master!"
"You ran away happily with your lion husband while leaving this poor plant here to suffer!" he scread inwardly with grievance.
His vines trembled pitifully.
Why must I be the cannon fodder between all of you terrifying monsters?!
Out loud, he quickly tried to defend himself. "I really don’t know where the master went! You are her n! Go find her yourselves! Why are you interrogating this innocent little plant?!"
Unfortunately, no one looked convinced. Not even in the slightest.
Rong Ye’s smile slowly grew sarcastic as he looked at the Stove with a smug expression.
"If you dare lie again," he said in a low voice, "your life will end here today."
Stove shuddered violently from head to root.
"What kind of fox demon is this?!" he cried out in panic. "Talking about killing a living plant so casually! Do you people have no compassion at all?!"
"We even shared als together!" Stove continued complaining loudly. "We once ate roasted potatoes together! Doesn’t that count as friendship, if not kinship?!"
The four n remained completely unmoved.
Stove’s leaves drooped weakly.
Heartless beasts.
anwhile, Hu Yan calmly cracked his knuckles.
"Maybe we should throw this little weed into the fire," he said casually. "After being roasted for a bit, he will definitely start talking."
Stove’s eyes almost popped out of his leafy head.
"WHAT?!"
"You want to roast ?!"
"Are you all demons or sothing?! I’m a living plant! A living plant!"
He twisted violently while hanging helplessly in the air.
"This is plant abuse! Nature will punish you all!"
But unfortunately, no one seed to care about plant rights at all.
Stove felt like crying.
He glanced again at his flower-wife, who was still watching nervously from behind the bushes.
Great.
Now my wife thinks I’m a weakling.
How will I face her later?!
At that mont, Stove suddenly wanted to slap all four n.
But then he looked at the terrifying auras surrounding them like raging storms. His courage instantly shrank away.
"...Actually maybe I will just stay quiet."
Just then, sothing suddenly tugged at one of his vines.
Stove looked down, and then he almost fainted on the spot from anger.
Two little cubs were happily chewing on his vines as if they were delicious snacks.
"HEY! HEY! HEY!"
"That’s my arm! Stop eating !"
The cubs blinked innocently and continued chewing without any guilt.
Stove felt like his plant soul was leaving his body.
"This place is cursed," he wailed dramatically. "The males want to kill , and the cubs want to eat
alive! What kind of terrible fate is this?! What did I do to deserve this?!"
He sniffed miserably.
Then slowly, he lifted his gaze toward the sky. "Master," he prayed in deep despair, "if you co back safely, you must compensate
with at least ten drops of your power!"
"At least ten!"
"Otherwise, I will resign as your spiritual plant!"
Finally, under such overwhelming pressure, Stove completely cracked.
"Fine! Fine! I’ll say it!"
The four n imdiately focused their sharp gazes on him. Stove raised a trembling vine and pointed toward the distant forest.
"The master ran away with that lion!"
Everyone froze for a mont.
"She said she wanted a peaceful environnt where you annoying people wouldn’t disturb her!" Stove blurted out dramatically.
"And she also said that all of you are nuisances who would definitely scare that silly lion away!"
He added even more fuel enthusiastically. The air suddenly turned terrifyingly silent.
Han Jue slowly raised an eyebrow.
"Did Lanlan really say those exact words?" he asked calmly, but his voice carried danger.
Stove’s leaves stiffened once again.
Oh no.
"...Damn it," he muttered inwardly. "They won’t even let
lie properly." He coughed awkwardly.
"Actually... not exactly those exact words."
Everyone’s gaze imdiately sharpened. Stove instantly gave up resisting.
"Fine! I admit it!"
"She only said she was going with the lion and would co back in the morning!"
"That’s all!"
Xuan Long narrowed his eyes slightly.
"Then why isn’t she back yet?" Stove blinked blankly. Then he shrugged helplessly.
"How would I know?"
"Maybe your lion rival is just very powerful," he added with a tiny mischievous snicker.
Unfortunately, the mont he t that cold erald gaze staring directly at him...His snicker disappeared instantly.
Stove drooped again miserably.
"Ah..."
"Why is my plant life so difficult?"
