Chapter 314: Chapter 314: The little snake cub

Su Qinglan held the tiny snake cub against her cheek, her heart overflowing with love.

The little one was so small, but its energy was vibrant. Xuan Long watched them, his erald eyes soft with an affection so deep it made the surrounding air feel warm.

"He just hatched today," Xuan Long whispered, his voice still a bit shaky from the beating. "As soon as he broke the shell, I brought him straight to you."

He explained that snake eggs usually take about two weeks to incubate.

However, two weeks had already passed in Su Qinglan’s domain. So he had been so desperate for the cub to et Su Qinglan that he had traveled to a much lower domain, a place where ti moved differently.

In that realm, two weeks had passed, allowing the cub to hatch and gain strength, while in the Fox Tribe’s domain, only two days had gone by.

And most importantly, he had to get away from An Mo. That man is clingy and dangerous. That’s why Xuan Long changed routes through several different domains to shake him off so he couldn’t track him back here. He had to keep his mate and the cub safe from An Mo’s clutches.

Xuan Long sighed, rembering the man he called a "demon born in an angelic race."

He and An Mo had been the only children of two massive, powerful clans. Neither had ever seen their mothers, and their lives were so similar that they had sworn a brotherhood at one point in their lives.

They had even promised that everything they owned would be shared and what belonged to one...belonged to the other.

But that was long before Xuan Long found Su Qinglan. Now that he had a mate and a cub of his own, he couldn’t let An Mo near them.

And An Mo would never sit silently while Xuan Long had a family he doesn’t have.

Xuan Long looked back at Su Qinglan, his gaze lting with tenderness. He ignored the three husbands and leaned down, gently pressing a kiss to her forehead.

"Lan Lan... I am so happy you believed in ," he murmured. "Even when I couldn’t speak, you trusted ."

When he had left the day of birth, he had already swallowed the egg, so he couldn’t explain to them the reason because they wouldn’t understand his snake language.

Then, his expression shifted. He turned his head slightly to look at Han Jue, Hu Yan, and Rong Ye, who were standing there looking like kicked puppies.

"Unlike so people," Xuan Long said loudly, his voice dripping with sarcasm.

"So people who claim to be ’brothers’ but start throwing punches before even asking a question. If I hadn’t protected the egg with my own body, their ’teaching a lesson’ might have hurt the baby."

He turned back to Su Qinglan, shalessly badmouthing the others.

"Lan Lan, you should be careful. These three are far too impulsive. They almost made our son an orphan before he even t his mother. They have no patience, no trust, and clearly, their brains are smaller than this cub’s tail."

Han Jue’s face went from red to purple. He opened his mouth to argue, but then he looked at the tiny snake cub with Su Qinglan’s eyes and the bruises on Xuan Long’s face. He felt so guilty he couldn’t find any words.

Hu Yan and Rong Ye also looked down at their feet, unable to et Su Qinglan’s gaze. They had been completely wrong, and now Xuan Long was making sure they felt every bit of that sha.

Su Qinglan looked at her three guilty husbands and then at the smug, yet battered, Xuan Long. She knew he was milking the situation for all it was worth, but she couldn’t bla him.

"You three," she said, her voice stern but her eyes twinkling with a bit of relief. "You owe Xuan Long a very, very big apology. And so high-quality at for his recovery."

The tiny snake cub let out a soft hiss, as if agreeing with its mother, while Xuan Long leaned his head on Su Qinglan’s shoulder, finally feeling like he was exactly where he belonged.

Back inside the treehouse, the atmosphere was finally peaceful.

Su Qinglan sat on the edge of the bed, cradling the tiny snake cub in the palm of her hand.

She had already asked Hu Yan to make the milk for the little baby. She had always kept a third bottle ready for the snake cub, hoping and praying for the day her snake cub would return.

The snake cub was incredibly tiny, but it was hungry. It latched onto the small nipple of the bottle with surprising strength.

Su Qinglan smiled as she watched the little one gulp down the warm milk.

She knew that with her care and this nutritious formula, it wouldn’t be long before this little "noodle" grew into a plump, healthy baby.

Xuan Long sat nearby, his eyes wide with utter astonishnt. He was looking at the two sleeping tiger cubs, who are so chubby and grown up.

"Lan Lan..." Xuan Long whispered, pointing a trembling finger at Xiao Er and Xiao Yi. "How... how did they get so big? Did I actually stay away for many days? Why are they so round?"

He couldn’t believe his eyes. When he left, they were small, but now they looked like little overstuffed pillows.

Before Su Qinglan could answer, he saw her feeding the snake cub. He imdiately felt a sense of duty as a father.

"Wait, Lan Lan," Xuan Long said, moving closer. He rolled up his sleeves, looking very serious.

"Snake cubs usually drink from bowls. Here, let

help you... I can help you pump the milk so the child can have a full bowl. You shouldn’t have to work so hard."

He reached out, thinking he needed to help her produce the milk manually, his face full of innocent helpfulness.

Su Qinglan’s face turned bright red. She swatted his hand away before he could get any closer to her chest. "Stop! What are you doing? I don’t need help with that!"

Xuan Long blinked, looking confused. "But... where did all that milk in that strange thing co from?

Did you already know I was coming back today? Did you stay awake all night preparing that just for him?"

He was deeply moved, thinking Su Qinglan had so sort of magical premonition and had spent hours preparing a feast for their son.

Su Qinglan looked at the bottle, then at Xuan Long’s emotional face, and then at her three other husbands who were peeking through the doorway. She couldn’t tell him about the system or the modern formula powder.

"Yes... let’s just say I knew you’d bring him ho hungry," she said, choosing the easiest lie.

Xuan Long smiled, looking at her with even more adoration.

"Lan Lan, you are the best mother in the world. You even prepared a special thing that doesn’t need a bowl. You are so knowledgeable!"

"It’s a feeding bottle, okay."

Rong Ye standing by the door, let out a loud snort. "Knowledgeable? She just has a lot of secrets, you scaly man. Now sit down and let her feed the baby in peace!"
