Chapter 252: Chapter 252: Rong Ye Runs With Bad News

Rong Ye was practically skipping through the mud, despite his drenched fur and the heavy rain. He was cradling the plants in his arms as if they were the most precious treasure in the world.

But the cradling looked more like Stove had wrapped his vines around his neck and tangled himself there, clutching tightly to him, while his female spiritual plant clung to him as well.

This was the only option for them to hitch a ride on this fox, because Stove feared that if they sat on his back, his little female would be blown away in the rain if the fox sprinted into the woods.

On the other hand, Rong Ye was completely oblivious to the careful thoughts of Stove. He was lost in his own fantasy.

Lan Lan is going to be so happy. The others can cook and clean? Big deal. I brought back a daughter in law. I am definitely the most thoughtful husband.

He was already imagining the surprise on Su Qinglan’s face, but as he was about to go back to the upper mountains, his fox ears suddenly twitched. Sothing was wrong. The air felt heavy, and not just because of the rain.

Not far away, right at the border of their mountain, a massive group of figures stood in the downpour. The rain was so thick and heavy that a normal person would not be able to see their own hand in front of their face, but for these newcors, it was not a problem.

Their eyes shone with a predatory light that cut through the darkness like lamps. These were high ranking beastn, the top of the food chain.

They were staring at the mountain range with narrowed eyes. From their perspective, the mountain looked like a miracle. While the rest of the world was being drowned by the terrifying deluge, the mountain was different.

The mountain was covered by a faint, shimring do. Inside that do, the rain was light and the land was stable. It was a paradise in the middle of a disaster.

A massive lion beastman, with a mane that looked like soaked gold, stepped forward.

This was Shi Feng, the King of the Lion Tribe. He stared at the shimring barrier with intense focus.

"Whose mountain range is this?" Shi Feng asked, his voice a deep rumble that almost drowned out the thunder.

A smaller, leaner lion nad Shi San stepped forward, bowing his head slightly. "My King, according to our scouts, this is the territory of the Fox Clan. But it seems they have given refuge to the Rabbit Clan recently."

Shi Feng’s eyes narrowed. The Fox Clan was usually considered a mid tier tribe, not particularly known for powerful defensive barriers like this.

"Go and tell them we want to seek shelter. It is better to talk first."

However, another lion stepped forward with a haughty air and a sneer on his face. This was Shi Kuang, Shi Feng’s younger brother. He shook his wet mane, spraying water everywhere.

"Why do we need to ask?" Shi Kuang said, his voice full of arrogance. "Just look at them. They are just foxes and probably a few stray wolves. We are the Lion Tribe. Let us just walk inside. Who is going to stop us? It is a benefit to them if we decide to stay. We can protect them while we use their dry land."

Shi Feng turned a cold gaze on his brother.

"Shi Kuang, do not cause trouble. It is not wise to offend a tribe that can maintain a barrier like this. Even a dog is a king on his own street. This is their ho."

Shi Kuang snickered, clearly unimpressed. He looked back at their people. There were almost a hundred of them standing in the mud.

The Lion Tribe was a proud and stubborn group. They were obsessed with their pure bloodline, rarely mating with other species.

Because of this purity, their numbers had crashed over the years. A tribe that once had over a thousand mbers was now reduced to a pitiful hundred.

Out of that hundred, there were only sixteen lionesses. These females were shivering in the cold rain, their faces pale. The Lion Tribe was desperate, though they were too proud to admit it.

"We cannot wait anymore," Shi Kuang pressured his brother. "The females are freezing. What if we ask and they say no? Then what? We stay out here and die in the mud while they sit on dry land? It is better to just enter. Once we are inside, they will not be able to kick us out."

Shi Feng looked back at the shivering lionesses. His heart softened. He was a king, and his first duty was to protect his people. He looked at the mountain again. It was so dry compared to the flood outside.

"We move forward," Shi Feng commanded. "But we do not attack unless they strike first. We will offer them trade in exchange for a place to stay."

Shi Kuang smirked, already thinking about how he would take over the best caves once they got inside. He did not care about trade. He only cared about being dry and showing these lesser beastn who was boss.

anwhile, Rong Ye was watching all of this from a very far distance, hidden behind very large bushes. His heart was hamring against his ribs.

So many lion beastn? he thought, his eyes wide. And they look like they have not eaten or slept in days. This is bad. This is very, very bad.

He had not heard anything from their conversation as he hid far away, because he knew that if he got closer, his chances of being discovered would be very big.

He looked down at Stove and the little flower wife. "Hey, you two, stay quiet," he whispered. "If those lions see us, they will turn

into a rug and you into a salad before I can even say surprise."

Stove’s leaves shook, seemingly understanding the gravity of the situation. The little flower wife hid deeper into his white fur.

Rong Ye knew he had to get back to the house imdiately. He needed to warn Han Jue, Hu Yan, and the scary snake husband and the tribe leader. After all, it was an ergency.

Even if their tribe was big in combat abilities, the foxes were nowhere near the lions. They could only tackle them with their beast strip power. But looking at their group, why did he feel like almost all of them were five strip beastn, and the leader was even stronger, stronger than their tribe leader who was already a six strip beast. Ah, they were dood.

A hundred lions were about to knock on their door, and they did not look like they were bringing a fruit basket.

"I have to move fast," Rong Ye muttered. He tucked the plants securely around his neck and began to move like a white blur through the trees, heading straight for the house.

Lan Lan, hold on, he thought desperately. Your most handso husband is coming to save the day, and I am bringing a lot of bad news with .

Behind him, Shi Feng looked in the direction where Rong Ye had been monts ago, but he did not say anything.

Soon, the massive group of lions began to march toward the shimring barrier, their heavy footsteps shaking the muddy ground.
