Chapter 16: Chapter 9: Orphanage IV_2

“No, even though he’s a child, he should have a gun by his side, and right now we can’t determine to what extent his abilities have recovered. It’s very dangerous to approach rashly!” Bai Xiong imdiately rejected Liu Yi’s idea.

Jia Renliang said with a frown, “So if we go out now and explain the situation to the group outside, what are the chances they’ll keep their promise and let us go?”

The rest looked at him as if he were an idiot…

“Alright, pretend I didn’t say anything!” he said, dejected.

At that mont, Chen Xiao spoke.

“I still have one question that I can’t figure out, which is what exactly happened in that conference room to make those students suddenly run out? Without understanding this, all our previous conjectures might be invalid!” As he spoke, he patted the dust off his butt, stood up, and cracked open his disgustingly big mouth with a smile. “But then again, it wouldn’t be fun if everything were so clear, would it?”

Afterwards, he stuffed his hands into his pockets and walked towards the stairs, saying as he went, “Anyone want to co up with

and have a chat with that kid?”

Bai Xiong didn’t think much about it and followed him directly; the remaining two exchanged looks, shrugged, and also followed!

The orphanage, third floor.

It was much darker here than below, as if a black mist shrouded everything, and the beam from the flashlights could only reach a very short distance. Out of necessity, everyone turned on their remaining flashlights.

The layout was similar to the lower floor, except that classrooms had been combined to create dormitories!

“All the windows are covered with sheets, not a single ray of light can get through!” Chen Xiao muttered and ca to the door of the dormitory. He swung his leg and kicked it hard.

Facing a supernatural being who could potentially kill him in a second with such a violent and impolite gesture earned a look of subtle admiration in the eyes of the other three.

Then there was a “clang” sound… Chen Xiao fell to the ground.

The door didn’t budge!

A mont of silence…

“Hmm, looks like he used his power to seal the door shut!” Chen Xiao said, dusting himself off as he stood up.

“So what do we do now?” Liu Yi asked, a clever man, but having spent too much ti with Chen Xiao, seed to have been spiritually contaminated by his erratic behavior, deciding it was better to leave these problems to him.

True to form, Chen Xiao imdiately showed everyone that this was a job for him.

He then creepily crawled to the crack in the door, bulged his eyes, and peered inside, though of course, he couldn’t see anything.

“Little buddy… uncle here has candy!”

No response…

Jia Renliang had a pained expression on his face, as if reminded of the disgusting way he used to trick little girls when he was younger.

“If you don’t open the door, I’m going to go downstairs and strip all of your classmates naked~”

Suddenly, everyone felt an intense pressure gathering around them.

Chen Xiao, undeterred, continued, “I’ll count to three, and if you don’t open the door, I’ll go downstairs and twist the teacher’s head off, okay~.”

“3”

“2”

“1”

“Don’t!” a voice ca from behind the door, sounding very flustered.

And everyone was surprised! Because the voice was clearly that of a little girl!

Little Ming is a girl? No way, the diary used “he,” and the official setting for Little Ming was supposed to be a boy!

While everyone was puzzled, the door slowly opened! Chen Xiao didn’t hesitate and walked straight in.

In the corner of the dormitory, there was a silhouette. He picked up his flashlight and shone it over.

There was a little girl with an exceptionally pale face, clearly having not seen the sunlight for a long ti, now struggling to block the light from the flashlight with her hand, her expression very uncomfortable.

In her arms, she held a gun, and beside her lay the body of a very fat man.

“Don’t co any closer, I have a gun!” she shouted, trying to lift the gun with trembling hands, but it was too heavy to raise.

The other three also walked in and, seeing the girl in the corner, couldn’t help but feel confused.

“Who are you?” Chen Xiao asked.

At that mont, a vase on the table beside him flew rapidly towards him, but it fell to the ground in midair and shattered!

The little girl in the corner lowered her head weakly, seemingly giving up the struggle.

“Please, she’s a good teacher… she never punishes us!”

Everyone frowned…

“What’s your na!” Chen Xiao asked again.

“izi!” she answered through tears.

Chen Xiao suddenly looked as if he had an epiphany, while the other three were all confused.

“You tricked Xiao Ming into thinking he had supernatural abilities when it was all you manipulating everything from the sidelines!” Chen Xiao said.

izi shook her head: “No, he said he wanted to help , he said we could all escape from here!”

Afterward, her gaze grew dim, as if recalling sothing deeply sad.

“But he changed later. He said we could control the orphanage, just like the teachers before us! He even gouged out Xiao Hong’s eyes!”

As she spoke, she buried her face in her hands and cried!

“Why didn’t you stop him?” Chen Xiao asked.

“I couldn’t, he would tell everyone that I killed the principal!” izi sobbed: “But it wasn’t on purpose, that day in the principal’s office…”

She didn’t continue, and everyone fell silent, not asking any more questions. In the darkness, only faint sobs could be heard.

A while later.

“That day, you were in the conference room too, right?” Chen Xiao asked.

“He forced ! He made

pretend to be controlled by the power and tricked everyone to leave!” izi shouted, shaking her head frantically: “I was so scared at that ti, my mind went blank, and when I ca to, it had already happened… it wasn’t on purpose! I really didn’t an to!”

“We will take you out of here!” Chen Xiao said nonchalantly, hands still in his pockets.

izi shook her head: “No, we are all here. A very gentle teacher ca a few days ago, she is so beautiful, and we all like her a lot!”

As she said this, a glimr of childlike happiness shone through her tear-swollen eyes.

Chen Xiao raised his head, looking at izi.

“They… are all dead!” he said.

izi was startled, the happiness in her eyes vanishing, replaced by overwhelming loneliness and sadness.

“No, no! They are all here, look, they are still in class! The teacher praised

yesterday!” Her lips were smiling, but her eyes were already flooded with tears.

“What’s her na?” Chen Xiao asked indifferently, ignoring izi’s heartache!

izi quieted down, her eyes looking lost.

“You haven’t even nad her, have you?” Chen Xiao continued to say: “You are deceiving yourself, creating a false solace in your mind, and in order not to let it shatter, you don’t hesitate to take more lives!”

As Chen Xiao spoke, there seed to be less madness in his eyes.

“No, it’s not like that!!!” izi covered her ears, shouting frantically.

But Chen Xiao didn’t stop, instead, he kept speaking and took steps towards her.

“Look at your hands, that’s a gun!” he pointed at izi’s hand and said, his voice as cold as ice

“Now look beside you, that’s a corpse! You killed him with your own hands!”

“Now look at this room, there isn’t a single ray of sunlight, you dare not go outside, only daring to lock yourself in here, with no teachers, no classmates, just your delusions!”

izi cried, tears streaming through her fingers, it’s hard to imagine a child could cry so heartbreakingly.

Chen Xiao ca over to izi’s side, squatting down.

“But… no one will bla you.” He said, smiling and stroking her hair.
