Chapter 137: The 4th Anniversary Special Event Ends (2)
Then, after we completed Round 87 while blocking the monsters in one way or another, a ssage rang.
[Congratulations! Only three regions remain.]
I didn’t know which regions survived up to now, but Region 53 which we belonged to had achieved at least 3rd place.
However, none of our team mbers shouted loudly like before because even those few seconds were precious for us to take a breather before the next round started.
Even though we didn’t shout for joy, achieving at least 3rd place motivated all of us to exert all our power, and as a result we could advance to Round 92 after passing Round 91.
At that mont, another ssage rang.
[Congratulations! Only one region remains.]
Actually, we were waiting for Round 92 to start after having just completed Round 91.
In other words, since we are still advancing through the rounds, the region that the ssage announced a mont ago was none other than our region.
So, so of our team mbers who had survived tenaciously until now lay down and shouted.
“Wow!”
“We’ve won first place!”
“Yes, 1st place!”
Even I let out a sigh of relief because Rounds 90 and 91 were pretty difficult.
While they were shouting for joy, another ssage rang as if the administrator didn’t want to drag it out.
[The following rewards are given to a total of 59 mbers in the squad of Region 53 (Korea) who won first place in the 4th Anniversary Event.
-All mbers will be given an additional 20,000 coins in addition to the initial 2,000 coins granted at the start of the event.
-All mbers will receive 1 billion golden rings.
-All mbers will be given 500 remaining stat points.
-All mbers will be granted the title ‘4th Anniversary Event Winner’.]
“20,000 coins?”
“And a whopping remaining 500 stat points and 1 billion golden rings?”
“Title! We won a title too!””
“Wow, we finally obtained a title after reaching level 1000!”
Honestly, for this reward was not impressive enough to make joyous because I had obtained a similar reward after clearing Monte’s Salimaru Bandits Quest.
Of course, that did not an I was not happy about the reward because the remaining 500 stat points would be basically 1250 stat points thanks to my Mutual Growth trait, and the more titles I had, the better.
But the ssage didn’t end there.
[All users of Region 53 which placed first in the 4th Anniversary Event will receive the following rewards.
-100-500 coins will be awarded to all users depending on their level.
-100,000 to 1 million golden rings will be awarded to all users depending on their level.
– EXP increases by 50% for 30 days.
– Golden ring drops increase by 50% for 30 days.]
These were the rewards promised to all users of the region who placed 1st.
There was one thing that caught my eye. It was the 50% increase in EXP.
So, as soon as I confird it, I decided that as soon as this event finished , I would focus on hunting even more instead of taking a break because this was really a rare opportunity to gain EXP.
Anyway, while everyone was yelling for joy, I could not share their joy because I had a clear goal before starting this event and tried hard to obtain it at the risk of looking selfish to others.
What I expected was an additional reward based on my individual contribution to the team’s victory. Of course, there was no ntion of such a reward.
However, I rembered that I earned an additional reward of remaining stats for my great contribution when I took part in the level 400 regular quest “Block the Scorpion King.”
I could not complain about the lack of an additional reward in this event, but I still could not help feel so regrets and frustration.
At that mont a ssage rang only to , not everybody.
[You have surpassed the maximum contribution that an individual can make.
-As an additional reward, you will receive 400 remaining stat points.]
Only then did I broadly smile because only I could strengthen my power by obtaining remaining stats like this which others could not obtain.
And the additional 400 stat point reward was almost equal to the original reward of 500 stat points of this event.
“Check title.”
As soon as I confird the additional reward for my individual contribution, I checked the title with lots of expectation.
[Title: Winner of the 4th Anniversary Event.
-This is a title given to 59 mbers of the region who won first place in the 4th Anniversary Event.
: Increases health by 50,000.
: Increases mana by 50,000.
: Increases all stat points by 100.
-Special EXP Privilege of the 4th Anniversary event: 5% additional EXP when defeating monsters.
-Special Golden Ring Privilege of the 4th Anniversary event: 5% additional golden rings when defeating monsters.]
As soon as I finished checking the title, I could only think of one thing. The title was rather underwhelming.
An increase in health and mana by 50,000 each, and an increase in all stats by 100 were the lowest of all my titles, except for my title “The one who does not fall” which was more like a penalty.
Moreover, my health and mana increased by 100,000 and all my stats increased by 300 when I obtained the title ‘Successful First Step,’ so I could not help but feel disappointed.
Of course, there were two options that made up for my disappointnt.
Naly, the 5% increase in EXP and golden rings.
‘Hmm…’
For a mont, I thought about the efficiency of the two.
Honestly I judged that an additional 5% increase in golden rings was aningless because I already had too many golden rings, so I didn’t need to obtain them through hunting in the future.
Besides, I obtained a whopping one billion golden rings as a reward in this event.
Anyway, I didn’t like the additional 5% golden rings, but I definitely liked the other option, the 5% increase in EXP.
Obviously, 5% was not high enough ,but considering that I would continue to level up in the future, 5% EXP would help get ahead of others to so extent.
So, I was rather comforted with the 5% increase in EXP. If I did not have this, I would have been greatly disappointed by the title of the Winner of the 4th Anniversary Event.
Given the enthusiastic reaction of other participants, however, I thought my complaints were unwarranted.
“I feel amazing! I finally won my first title at level 1037!”
“With 50,000 mana, 50,000 health, and 100 stat points, this title is at least of the interdiate level!”
“Besides, we also received a5% increase in EXP which is not granted by regular titles.”
After all, this was a title that would earn the envy of others just by holding it.
There were only a few who had a title of this caliber.
That was why my father, brother and sister couldn’t hide their astonishnt when I revealed to them my five titles so ti ago.
Moreover, I currently have a total of 7 titles, including this title and the title, “First Successful Step” I recently acquired.
I felt proud of what I achieved because even though there was a difference in the performance of each title, I deserved to be proud of my achievents.
In addition, I rember receiving 300 remaining stat points from achieving my first five titles.
Anyway, unlike a little while ago when I felt a little disappointed about the title of the Winner of the 4th Anniversary Event at first glance, I now confird the value of it. But there was still sothing bothering .
The ssage clearly ntioned the 59 mbers of Region 53.
Aside from just receiving the title of the Winner of the 4th Anniversary Event, the number of the recipients of 20,000 coins, 1 billion golden rings and 500 remaining stat points was exactly 59.
In other words, Bora Yon, who was offered up as a sacrifice was thoroughly excluded from the rewards. Of course, I knew that the altar ssage clearly announced that the person who was offered up as a sacrifice would not receive any reward, but I was still bothered because her role in the 4th Anniversary Event was not small. And all the other mbers seed to have noticed it, too.
At that mont, the jubilant and cheerful atmosphere of the 59 mber squad subsided.
Then the only person here who could change the atmosphere opened his mouth.
It was Mirae Group’s Chairman Jungwhan Yon.
