The mont the cyan evolution glow burst from the Dreamweaver’s Eye, Quentin Vilewind’s expression changed instantly.

“A Tier‑5 relic? Are you insane?!”

For a Butterfly‑tier evolver like Yvonne Hart, using a Tier‑5 relic ant paying a price beyond imagination.

But Yvonne only smiled.

She had carried this relic all the way from Gu’an Nation.

She hadn’t used it when her comrades died.

She hadn’t used it when her own disciple died in front of her.

She had only one mission—

protect Dr. Wendy Lewis.

And now, the mont had finally co.

The Dreamweaver’s Eye shone brighter, its cyan glow illuminating a wide area around Yvonne and Quentin.

The amber pupil within the eyeball flickered with eerie life, as if it were still alive.

Quentin’s body blurred into a shadow as he retreated rapidly.

A Tier‑5 relic was above even his Saint‑tier level—he couldn’t afford to be careless.

But the Dreamweaver’s Eye locked onto him like a living creature.

A beam of cyan light shot out, striking Quentin squarely.

In the next instant, Quentin was forced out of his shadow form.

His eyes went blank, his expression empty.

At the sa ti, the shadowy hands gripping Evan and Wendy Lewis dissolved into smoke.

Both regained their freedom.

But the darkness covering the world did not fade.

Then Quentin’s blank face suddenly twisted into a smile—

then sadness—

then rage—

then excitent—

then pleasure—

then madness.

His emotions flickered wildly, changing faster and faster.

The Dreamweaver’s Eye was devouring his mind.

Evan realized—

This relic was a ntal‑type weapon, just like the Wailer’s Skull.

Yvonne held the relic tightly, maintaining its effect.

Her arm trembled violently.

Her hair turned white strand by strand.

Wrinkles deepened across her face.

Her back bent further and further.

She was aging—

rapidly—

irreversibly.

She was walking toward the end of her life.

“Yvonne…”

Wendy stood helplessly in the darkness, fragile as a dandelion in the wind.

Evan and the others could only watch in silence.

They were powerless.

This was a battle far beyond their level.

The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

If they attacked recklessly, they might even disrupt Yvonne’s control and help Quentin instead.

All they could do was wait.

Evan stepped closer to Wendy and gently patted her back.

He didn’t say anything.

He and Wendy had been dragged away from the group earlier, so only the two of them stood together.

The others were dozens of ters away.

Evan glanced toward the distant glows—

and froze.

He counted again.

Then again.

He lowered his voice.

“We’re missing soone.”

There should have been seven evolution glows on the ground—

eight people total, minus Yvonne who was in the air.

But there were only six.

Soone had vanished.

Under a Saint‑tier domain, no one could escape.

So the missing person either died silently…

Or deliberately extinguished their evolution glow to hide.

“The two orange glows are still there,” Evan whispered.

“So the missing one is a Chrysalis‑tier.”

He exhaled in relief.

A Chrysalis‑tier hiding in the dark was dangerous—

but manageable.

“Wendy, hide your glow. Stay close to ,” Evan whispered.

If the hidden person was targeting Wendy, then standing here glowing like lanterns was suicide.

But if they extinguished their glow, the enemy would lose sight of them too.

“Okay,” Wendy whispered.

Both withdrew their evolution glow.

Their red halos vanished instantly.

Evan grabbed Wendy’s hand and led her away, taking over a hundred silent steps before stopping.

Above them, the stalemate finally broke.

The Dreamweaver’s Eye flickered like a dying flashlight.

Its cyan glow dimd and brightened erratically.

Quentin’s face twisted faster and faster—

sotis changing expressions several tis in a single second.

Finally—

Yvonne collapsed from the sky.

The four hunters below rushed to catch her.

“I’m fine,” Yvonne rasped, pushing them away.

“Where is Dr. Lewis?”

Wendy tried to run to her, but Evan held her back.

“Not yet. The hidden one might be waiting for us.”

Then—

Quentin Vilewind suddenly stopped twitching.

Everyone except Yvonne felt their hearts sink.

He wasn’t dead?

But then—

Quentin’s face broke into a goofy, idiotic grin.

“I love you, Mom!”

Then he burst into tears.

“My husband left … w‑why…”

Then he clutched his stomach.

“It hurts! I’m giving birth!”

Then he snarled.

“You cheating witch! How dare you betray !”

Then he pointed dramatically.

“In the na of the moon, I shall punish you!”

Then he spread his arms.

“Let my monster grow!”

He switched roles like a deranged actor performing a one‑man show.

“He’s… gone mad?”

No one could believe it.

A Saint‑tier evolver—

an invincible existence in their eyes—

had been driven insane.

What had he experienced in those few seconds?

The Dreamweaver’s Eye was terrifying.

“He’s really gone mad beyond repair,” Evan muttered.

Quentin no longer seed aware of them.

He was lost in his own hallucinations.

Suddenly—

“Qiangzi!”

Quentin scread the na and flew into the distance, crying as he chased sothing only he could see.

“Qiangzi! Don’t leave !”

“Qiangzi! Co back!”

“Qiangzi, take with you!”

His voice echoed as he flew farther and farther away—

until he vanished completely.

And with him—

the darkness finally lifted.

Light returned to the world.

And the mont it did—

Evan spotted Li Carter standing not far away.

“So it really was you.”

Evan had suspected the missing glow belonged to Li Carter.

And Li Carter confird it instantly—

He lunged straight toward Wendy Lewis.
