“Senior Evan!”

The silence in the classroom

was shattered by Hannah Keane’s excited voice.

Evan smiled at her.

“Don’t call ‘senior’ anymore.

We’re in the sa year now.”

Hannah blushed and nodded.

She had t Evan on campus before

and naturally assud

he was an upperclassman.

The rest of the class finally snapped out of shock.

Excitent spread like wildfire—

especially among the bolder girls,

who looked ready to sprint

toward the empty seats beside Evan.

The boys’ expressions were more complicated.

On one hand,

sharing a class with Evan Cole

was an honor.

On the other hand…

they knew they had permanently lost

the title of “most handso guy in class.”

If the counselor weren’t present,

the classroom would already be chaos.

Even so,

several students pretended to check their phones

while secretly taking photos of Evan

to post online.

Jonathan Hayes cleared his throat.

“You’ll all have plenty of ti

to get to know each other.

For now, focus.

We have important matters to discuss.”

Once the room settled, he continued:

“Today, we have two tasks.

First, selecting class officers.

Second, preparing for military training

after the freshman assessnt.

“Anyone want to nominate themselves

or recomnd soone?”

Imdiately, several girls raised their hands.

“Teacher, I recomnd Evan as class monitor!”

“Seconded!”

“I agree!”

Evan blinked.

He had absolutely zero interest

in being class monitor.

One bold girl even joked,

“I suggest Evan be our dorm leader.”

Evan nearly choked.

He couldn’t even enter the girls’ dorm.

Jonathan looked at him,

waiting for his opinion.

Evan quickly walked up

and whispered a few words.

Jonathan nodded.

“Evan may not be able

to serve as class monitor.

Please choose soone else.”

A wave of disappointnt

swept through the room.

Evan had simply explained

that although he was in the Research Departnt,

he had already agreed

to represent Dongli University

in the Six‑Nation Academic Exchange Tournant.

He needed ti to prepare

and couldn’t manage class affairs.

“By the way, Mr. Hayes,” Evan added,

“I need to request a few days off

to prepare for the freshman assessnt.”

If any other student

asked for leave on the first day,

Jonathan would never approve it.

But this was Evan.

After a few questions,

Jonathan approved the request.

With leave granted,

Evan left early

and returned ho

to continue Swan Dance training.

🌐 Campus Forum Explosion

anwhile, several posts

blew up on Dongli University’s forum:

“Shocking! Evan Cole chooses research over combat!”

“Evan’s dream is to beco an evolutionary scientist!”

“Confird: Evan Cole enrolls in Evolutionary Science!”

At first,

students refused to believe it.

But the posts had photos—

and more and more freshn

from Class 02 confird it.

The entire school

fell into disbelief.

Was Evan really giving up

his incredible combat talent

to beco a researcher?

Speculation ran wild.

So said

he had failed his second evolution

and lost confidence.

So said

his Chrysalis‑tier strength

was achieved by sacrificing future potential

and he had reached a dead end.

So said

he was just a one‑hit wonder.

Evan ignored all of it.

He was focused

on his final sprint.

🔥 January 14th — The Final Push

The freshman assessnt

was scheduled for January 15th.

And on January 14th—

the day before the exam—

Evan finally finished digesting

the Black‑Belly Jiao Pelican extract.

“A Tier‑3 S‑grade extract

is really hard to digest.

I used up all my Tomorrow‑Bloom petals.”

He lay on his bed,

adjusting his state.

His body was now

at the absolute peak

of the Chrysalis‑tier—

stronger than anyone else

at the sa stage.

He had absorbed

a total of eight extracts:

Tier‑1 S‑grade (2)

Giant Strength Ant

One‑Horned Rhino

Tier‑2 D‑grade (1)

Rock Scorpion

Tier‑2 S‑grade (3)

Undying Salamander

Mutated Giant Crocodile

Mutated Upright Ape

Tier‑3 S‑grade (1)

Black‑Belly Jiao Pelican

Unknown‑grade (1)

Evolution’s Grace

The quality and quantity

were unmatched by any Chrysalis‑tier evolver.

His foundation

was unimaginably solid.

The second evolution

was practically guaranteed.

A red glow

spread across Evan’s body.

Feeling his state reach its peak,

Evan took a deep breath.

His evolution energy surged.

🦋 The Second Evolution Begins

The red evolution energy

began to transform—

shifting gradually into orange.

The orange energy

poured into his body,

penetrating every cell,

rewriting him.

When all the red energy

had fully converted,

the orange evolution energy

wove itself around him,

forming a cocoon.

Inside the cocoon,

Evan felt himself lting—

every cell separating,

his entire body dissolving

into a pool of liquid.

It was a strange sensation.

He remained conscious,

feeling himself

being lted and reshaped—

like molten iron

being reforged.

His cells strengthened.

His genes rewrote themselves.

His life level

rose to a higher tier.

He didn’t know

how much ti passed.

Eventually,

his liquid form

began to flow and solidify—

forming a human shape,

a skeleton,

a head,

limbs.

The cocoon’s energy

peeled away like silk threads,

flowing back into his body.

As the cocoon thinned,

his features beca clearer—

his face,

his hair,

his skin.

When the cocoon

fully dissolved

and rged into him—

Evan stood reborn.

His appearance was the sa,

but his skin was smoother,

his aura stronger,

his spirit sharper.

Evan clenched his fist,

feeling the power surging within.

“So this is the second evolution…

No wonder they call it

the Cocoon‑Break Tier.”
