Zii suppressed the discomfort in her heart, leaned close to Lu Shanhu’s ear and whispered sothing to him, then threw a flirtatious glance at the other n: "Gentlen, forgive for leaving, please enjoy yourselves~"
"Sure, sure..."
The n nodded repeatedly.
As she turned around, the smile on Zii’s face vanished instantly, and she made her way straight through the crowd to the balcony.
The investors looked as if they had lost their souls, still reluctantly watching the direction in which Zii left...
On the balcony
Zii leaned against the railing and skillfully lit a lady’s cigarette.
The banquet hall was so heavily air-conditioned that it made her feel stiflingly hot, but standing on the open balcony, she finally let out a sigh of relief.
She casually let down her long hair, allowing the night breeze to blow it into a dance.
Zii took a couple of puffs of her cigarette and, while exhaling the curling smoke, glanced back at the bustling street.
The neon-lit city center was quite bustling, and opposite was a large cinema. Suddenly, her eyes paused, successfully capturing that familiar figure among the crowd.
Ye Cheng!
He was wearing a blue suit, his hair ticulously grood, and the golden cufflinks were exquisitely beautiful.
Beside him, a fashionably dressed actress in a long evening gown, smiled appropriately at the dia and fans.
Zii recognized her; that actress was one of the first female stars Ye Cheng had brought to fa: Zhao Shu.
There were rumors that Zhao Shu and Ye Cheng had an unusual relationship, possibly a secret romance.
At the sight of Zhao Shu, Zii’s mood instantly turned unpleasant. A cold gleam flashed through her charming eyes as she quickly extinguished her cigarette and briskly walked out of the hall.
"Ms. Zii, may I offer you a drink?"
On the way, soone stopped her to strike up a conversation.
"Sorry, I’m in a hurry."
Zii coldly responded, disappearing swiftly at the door in her high heels.
The front of the cinema was crowded with reporters and star fans, making it impenetrable, while bodyguards in black uniforms maintained order. People with invitations lined up, entering one by one.
Zii stopped in the crowd.
She didn’t have an invitation.
Zii’s strikingly alluring appearance that night caught so dia attention, prompting photographers to snap away, mistaking her for so celebrity making an appearance.
After only a brief hesitation, Zii walked up and tapped the shoulder of the young guy at the end of the line: "Can I buy your invitation?"
The guy turned around and saw an exceptionally beautiful woman standing behind him, instantly dumbfounded. It took him a while to uncertainly ask, "B-buy my invitation?"
"Yes, is this money enough?"
Zii directly took out a wad of cash from her handbag and handed it over.
Having received the invitation from a friend for free, and despite wanting to see his goddess Zhao Shu, he simply couldn’t refuse such a beautiful woman.
"Okay, it’s yours."
The guy handed the invitation to Zii.
Zii looked down, seeing the words "Shadow Fan eting" printed on it.
Joining the queue into the cinema, it was already packed inside.
Zii had no interest in the movie; her sole focus was Ye Cheng.
After the introduction of the film’s creators, the press conference began.
Zii’s eyes remained fixed on Ye Cheng. He stood tall on the stage, handso and composed, not at all overshadowed by any stars.
Zii suddenly rembered when a talent scout had once approached Ye Cheng in his second year of high school, trying to sign him to make his debut.
Ye Cheng had told her about it, asking for her opinion.
"You’re my boyfriend, no showing off to the world. If it cos to it, I’ll support you for life!" Zii’s reply at the ti was rather domineering.
Hearing her words, Ye Cheng had laughed.
His smile left Zii completely entranced, making her think: How could there be a boy in this world with such a beautiful smile?
How she wished she could hide him away, for her eyes only.
