"Okay."

The nurse had her back to her, and her voice carried a hint of familiarity.

Could it be an illusion of her own? Ji Wei thought.

"It’s a little princess, now you have a son and a daughter, Mrs. Gu, you’re really lucky." The nurse slowly approached, handing the baby, cleaned and wrapped in a swaddle, to Ji Wei, a smile spreading across her lips.

The nurse’s voice sounded sowhat unsettling, prompting Ji Wei to instinctively look up at her.

The nurse wore a mask, only her eyes visible.

The look of resentnt in them startled Ji Wei, who blurted out, "Who are you?! "

"Finally recognized ? Heh heh..." The nurse laughed darkly, then raised her hand to tear off her mask: "Ji Wei, long ti no see. You never thought you’d et here, did you?"

Zhu Jianian looked at her, smiling with a touch of cold cruelty.

Ji Wei’s eyes widened, shocked to the point of almost being unable to speak.

How could it be?

Was Zhu Jianian’s sentence completed? How did she sneak in?

"You’re surely curious about how I managed to slip into the hospital without anyone noticing, right? "

Zhu Jianian laughed mockingly, "I used to be the Zhu family’s daughter after all, even if I was made holess by you all, I’d still have so resources and connections left. Now everyone else in the delivery room has been drugged unconscious, it’s just and you—oh no, and your newborn child."

Zhu Jianian looked down, gently stroking the newborn, its eyes still closed, with hatred in her eyes growing stronger: "It’s ti for us to settle this score properly. Tell , if I were to strangle her right in front of you, would it be your lifelong nightmare?"

"No! Zhu Jianian, you lunatic, give back my child!"

Ji Wei was gripped by imnse terror.

The scene was so familiar.

So familiar it felt like being plunged into endless darkness, unable to see any light.

In her past life, Ji Chuyang had stord into the delivery room the sa way and smashed her newborn to death right in front of her! Such a bloody and violent scene, recalling it still made Ji Wei wish she could die from the pain.

Why is it like this?

Could it be that after changing everything upon her rebirth, she must pay an equivalent price?

Ji Wei struggled to reach out to grab her child, but she had just given birth and was so weak and powerless that even lifting her hand felt imnsely difficult.

"Don’t waste your effort, you’re as fragile as an ant now, I can crush you easily," Zhu Jianian sneered arrogantly.

"Give it back to , give back my child!"

Ji Wei’s face turned pale, she was covered in blood and gri below, not caring about anything as she clenched her teeth, managing to prop herself up, reaching out desperately toward Zhu Jianian.

Zhu Jianian swiftly dodged back, and Ji Wei pounced into thin air, her precarious body falling off the delivery bed onto the ground.

Her whole body ached as if it were falling apart, her eyes were red with anger, yet Ji Wei didn’t give up, she continued to crawl forward recklessly, trying to get close to Zhu Jianian and save her child.

Zhu Jianian stood there, looking down on her helpless and wretched state, finally feeling a sense of revenge.

"Hmph, who’d have thought that Mrs. Gu, so glorious in front of others, would end up like this today. If only you’d restrained yourself a bit! Ji Wei, you took away the man I loved most, you made end up in prison and holess, this is your well-deserved retribution!"

After speaking, Zhu Jianian burst into mad laughter.

Her laughter was sharp and piercing, scaring the baby in the swaddle into wailing loudly.

"What are you crying for, shut up!"

Zhu Jianian hated the sound of a child’s cries, glaring down at the baby and shouting harshly.
