"Be gentle, what if the wound opens?" Ji Wei complained, trying to break free from his embrace.

Mo Qian held her tightly, refusing to let go, "Sorry for worrying you..."

His voice was sowhat hoarse and guilt-ridden.

No one understood better than Mo Qian just how frightened Ji Wei had been earlier; if it hadn’t been absolutely necessary, he wouldn’t have chosen to act that way.

Hearing his deep sense of remorse, Ji Wei’s eyes reddened uncontrollably, but the corners of her lips involuntarily lifted into a smile, as her arms tightened around his waist.

They embraced quietly in the woods, relishing the joy of surviving the ordeal, completely forgetting there were two others nearby.

As ti ticked by, Xi Nanfeng paced around the clearing several tis before finally losing patience and heading over behind the trees.

Ji Wei was montarily stunned upon seeing him, then quickly pulled away from Mo Qian’s hold, hurriedly wiping the tear marks from her face.

"Second Young Master, thank you for coming to help," she sincerely said.

"No need for thanks, it was nothing."

Xi Nanfeng waved his hand, then turned to complain to Mo Qian, "You rushed here in such a panic, how could I not co? But leaving a woman’s bed in the middle of the night to co to this dark forest, isn’t the sacrifice a bit too much?"

Stretching and yawning repeatedly, he added, "Old Mo, you owe big now, rember that."

Mo Qian looked at him for two seconds before speaking, "I was about to thank you, but now I see there’s no need."

"Why?" Xi Nanfeng looked baffled.

Mo Qian took Ji Wei’s hand, interlocked their fingers, and stepped onto the fallen leaves without bothering to answer Xi Nanfeng.

"Old Mo, why on earth?" Xi Nanfeng asked persistently.

Seeing Ye Cheng standing tall and graceful over there, Ji Wei was sowhat surprised.

He appeared thinner; taking care of Zii must have been quite tiring these days. Did he co to Britain alone, leaving Zii behind?

"You’ve worked hard, Old Ye," Mo Qian patted Ye Cheng’s shoulder lightly.

Xi Nanfeng, who caught up with them, complained, "Why don’t you say ’good job’ to , Old Mo, that’s discrimination!"

Mo Qian completely ignored him and continued asking Ye Cheng, "What’s the situation outside?"

"When I arrived, the special forces had already surrounded the entire castle, all involved in the underground casino have been arrested. The car is still outside, let’s discuss further once we’re out."

Mo Qian nodded, "Alright."

"Am I invisible here?"

Seeing the three heading straight out of the woods, Xi Nanfeng was infuriated.

The group left the dense forest and got into the car.

The banquet inside the castle ended prematurely, and most of the guests had left. Ji Wei saw uniford officers guarding the exits, as those involved in the underground gambling were led into police vehicles.

Returning to Aifei Manor, it was already dawn.

Xi Nanfeng and Ye Cheng temporarily stayed in the guest room.

Mo Qian escorted Ji Wei back to her bedroom, poured her a calming hot drink, and held her hand saying, "Weiwei, you sleep first, I have so matters to discuss with Ye Cheng and the others."

Ji Wei tugged at his sleeve, looked up with concern, "Could your arm wound be treated first?"

"Alright, I’ll disinfect it with alcohol later," he raised his hand to gently ruffle her hair, his gaze tender, "Sleep now."

Ji Wei lay on the bed and covered herself with the blanket, taking a long ti to fall asleep.

She slept for a long while, waking only at noon the next day, with Mo Qian nowhere to be found.
