The two of them had their hands tied behind their backs and were led by several black-clad bodyguards into the dense woods behind the castle.

This was a clearing in the dense forest, where moonlight stread through the thick trees, casting everything in a hazy light. The night wind rustled the leaves, making a chilling sound in the silent woods.

Ogilvy did not co; there were only Mars and a few black-clad bodyguards.

"Mr. Gu, you should thank for letting you die together. As the saying goes in your country, even on the road to the underworld, you have a companion, so you won’t beco a wandering ghost."

Mars spoke coldly, slowly raising the gun in his hand to aim at the two of them.

So close to death, Ji Wei was surprisingly calm. She turned her head to look at the man standing beside her. Gu Moqian’s eyes reflected the faint glow of the moon, calm and gentle.

She gave him a charming smile, "Mo Qian, I still want to find you in the next life, don’t you dare hide from ."

Gu Moqian curved his lips, "Let’s put the next life aside, I still want to continue loving you."

Ji Wei was slightly stunned, not quite understanding what he ant.

"Still talking nonsense when death is at your doorstep, I’m sending you to the West right now!" Mars had lost his patience, a vicious look on his face as he pulled the trigger without hesitation.

Bang! Bang!

Two terrifying gunshots pierced the sky in the silent forest.

At the mont the gunfire sounded, Ji Wei couldn’t help but tremble all over. She tightly shut her eyes but felt no pain. A wail reached her ears, and she suddenly opened her eyes.

She saw Mars clutching his gun hand, writhing in pain on the ground.

Just then, a gunshot fired from behind a tree hit his wrist a second before Mars could shoot, causing his shot to miss.

The sudden turn of events shocked the bodyguards, who imdiately opened fire towards the tree thicket.

The gunfire erupted around her, and Ji Wei’s eardrums nearly went numb. She instinctively bent down to avoid the shots.

The rope on Gu Moqian’s hands was nearly cut through by a blade. He exerted a bit of force and broke free. Without thinking, he swiftly pulled Ji Wei towards a large tree behind them to take cover.

There was an unknown number of people behind the thickets, and the black-clad bodyguards, being outnumbered, fell one by one.

The remaining two turned pale with fright and attempted to flee in another direction but were shot and fell down, motionless, within a few steps.

"Ah—"

Mars on the ground didn’t want to be at the rcy of others. He endured the acute pain to raise his gun, but before he could shoot, he was hit in the left leg, letting out a painful scream.

William quickly erged from the thicket, kicked the gun out of Mars’ hand, and had his n take him away.

Behind the tree, Gu Moqian had already untied Ji Wei.

Seeing William appear, the two of them imdiately understood what was happening. It seed William had anticipated tonight’s events and brought quite a few helpers.

"How long are you two planning to hide behind the tree?" William spoke as he holstered his gun, a teasing smile on his lips.

Ji Wei and Gu Moqian had no choice but to co out.

"I’ve already notified the police. The whole castle will be surrounded soon, and this gang won’t escape." William said.

Gu Moqian removed a pinhole cara and tossed it to him: "Those people are cunning, even if caught, they would find ways to deny it. The evidence in here is enough to convict them."

William took it and casually put it in his pocket, his face suddenly turning serious: "It’s not safe here, we must leave quickly."

"William, watch out!"

Just as William turned around, Ji Wei suddenly cried out in alarm.

She had spotted another group of people hidden behind the thicket!
