Upon hearing the word "mother," there was finally a bit of reaction in Ji Wei’s vacant eyes.

However, she did not open the envelope.

William accompanied her on the beach for a long ti, then he slowly stood up: "The wind at the seaside is strong, don’t stay too long."

After the man finished speaking, he started to walk back to the shore.

A long while later, Ji Wei finally lowered her head and slowly opened the envelope.

A photo slipped out from between the pages of the letter and fell onto the soft sand.

The photo showed many people, gathered in front of a castle-like building in a group photo. There were n and won, young and old, like a family. Most of them had foreign faces, but Ji Wei quickly found that familiar face among them.

Her mother, Mrs. Zhao Wanfei.

Ji Wei was finally moved; she unfolded the folded letter, which was written in English with a black pen.

The more she read, the more shocked Ji Wei felt.

It turned out that her mother, Zhao Wanfei, was an adopted daughter of the Charles family. Old Charles, who was William’s grandfather, was very fond of this foreign daughter, and even in his will, he left a quarter of the Charles family’s property for Zhao Wanfei to inherit.

However, Zhao Wanfei disappeared more than twenty years ago.

It is said that she fell in love with a man from Country D at the ti and left Britain with him, never to return.

Old Charles spent his entire life looking for Zhao Wanfei until he passed away two years ago.

In order to fulfill his grandfather’s wish, William also began to search for Zhao Wanfei, whom he referred to as Aunt Zhao.

By chance, soone from the Charles family saved the drowning Ji Shanshan, and by the jade bracelet she wore, determined that she was Aunt Zhao’s daughter.

But upon seeing Ji Wei, William always had a feeling that, compared to Ji Shanshan, Ji Wei seed to resemble Aunt Zhao more...

Without evidence, he didn’t dare to make a rash judgnt. This visit to Rongcheng was also to find out Ji Shanshan’s true identity, maybe to cover up the facts, Ji Shanshan hid all clues about her identity.

But a piece of information provided by Gu Moqian gave William the most important clue.

Ji Wei’s cousin, Zhao Wanqing, had gone to South Arica and only got in touch half a month ago. William detailed the process of communicating with Zhao Wanqing.

The jade bracelet on Zhao Wanqing’s wrist was the strongest evidence, and she could prove that Ji Wei was indeed Zhao Wanfei’s daughter, and that Ji Shanshan was purely an impostor.

Besides the letter and photo, the envelope also contained a will.

The amount was so huge it could almost buy the entire Rongcheng, yet it couldn’t stir even the slightest ripple in Ji Wei’s heart. She felt unfamiliar with the Charles family, and even with her mother’s connection, she still didn’t want to get involved with them.

After reading the letter, Ji Wei put it back as it was.

She turned back to look at the shore, William’s white car was still parked there. She slowly got up and walked towards the car.

As Ji Wei approached, William imdiately rolled down the car window.

Ji Wei’s expression was very cold; she tossed the envelope back to him directly, speaking in an extrely indifferent tone: "Leave Rongcheng and never show up again. No matter what relationship my mother had with your family, I won’t get involved with you, and I won’t take even a penny of that inheritance."

With that said, Ji Wei turned and left, her figure decisive.

William watched her walking away, his heart overwheld by sadness and regret.

Because he always had so doubts about Ji Shanshan, William never told her about the inheritance.

If Ji Shanshan knew there was such a large sum of money to inherit, she probably would never return to Rongcheng, and such severe consequences would never have happened...
