Gu Moqian’s voice carried a sense of intimidation, cold and detached. An An, who had been concentrating on stacking blocks, was startled.

He dropped the blocks in his hand, and his small chubby hand stretched forward with effort, trying to grab Uncle Jin Qichuan’s pant leg.

In the tense and oppressive atmosphere, Jin Qichuan felt a little hand tug at his pant leg. He looked down in surprise to see An An staring up at him with big, blinking eyes and muttering, "Un-cle... blocks."

An An still wanted the handso uncle to keep playing blocks with him.

Gu Moqian lowered his head and looked at his son upon hearing this, his eyes both shocked and tinged with anger.

In the presence of his own father, his son actually preferred another man to play with him!

Almost imdiately, Gu Moqian bent down, pulled his son’s hand away from Jin Qichuan’s pant leg, and without another word, scooped An An up with one hand.

He spoke sternly to An An: "If soone’s going to play with you, it should be your dad. Uncle is about to leave. Say goodbye to him."

An An liked the handso uncle very much. The uncle spoke gently, but Dad spoke harshly.

He didn’t want the uncle to leave.

An An’s bright, clear eyes instantly brimd with tears, and he looked at Jin Qichuan before letting out a loud wail.

Gu Moqian: "..."

"An An, good children shouldn’t cry, understand?" Jin Qichuan said gently, trying to soothe An An.

An An glanced at him and kept bawling.

Gu Moqian frowned deeply, his cold and stormy gaze fixed on Jin Qichuan as he snapped, "You can leave now. You’re not welco here."

An An’s crying successfully drew Aunt Zhu and Xiao Xi out. Startled by Gu Moqian’s sudden return, both looked visibly surprised.

Aunt Zhu, who had initially wanted to step forward and hold An An, sharply sensed the simring tension between the two n and froze in place. Despite her worry, she dared not approach.

Ji Wei had just stepped out of the bathroom when she heard her son’s loud crying. Assuming An An had fallen and hurt himself, she sped up her pace.

Entering the living room and spotting Gu Moqian, Ji Wei’s eyes involuntarily revealed a flicker of surprise.

He went to the company and ca back so soon?

Then, seeing Gu Moqian standing in the center of the living room holding An An, with scattered blocks on the floor and his icy gaze fixed on Jin Qichuan as if boring holes into him, Ji Wei’s heart sank.

"Let hold An An," she said.

She endured the pounding tenseness in her brow and walked over, extending her arms to take An An from Gu Moqian’s grasp. Her gaze briefly t his frigid, piercing eyes.

An An finally stopped crying in his mom’s arms, though he continued to hiccup softly, using his small, chubby hands to wipe his tears—a picture of complete grievance.

"Why is An An crying?" Ji Wei asked.

Jin Qichuan was about to answer, but An An, still nestled in her arms, spoke first: "Papa... bad!"

Ji Wei looked at her son in astonishnt.

Where did this little guy learn the word ’bad’ from?

Gu Moqian turned around in disbelief, his cold, sharp gaze sweeping toward An An. Startled, An An buried his face into Ji Wei’s chest imdiately.

An An feared that this reaction would further ignite Gu Moqian’s fury.

His fists clenched at his sides so tightly that his knuckles cracked audibly. Ji Wei instinctively shielded her son, then turned to Jin Qichuan and said apologetically, "Mr. Jin, I’m sorry, but we can’t have you for lunch anymore."

Jin Qichuan had bought An An gifts, and An An genuinely liked him. Ji Wei had invited him out of politeness to stay for lunch.

But given the current situation, it was clearly no longer appropriate to keep him here.
