Xia Duoduo, though very worried, was completely at a loss for what to do.
"If there’s a role, just keep shooting. Treat it as honing your acting skills. When Mr. Ye cos back and sees how much you’ve improved, he’ll also be happy for you," Ji Wei’an reassured her.
"Will he?" Xia Duoduo sounded uncertain. "Whether he’ll co back at all is still an unknown..."
Seeing the topic growing heavier again, Ji Wei quickly interjected, "Duoduo, isn’t your TV drama set to premiere in the next couple of days? Is it on Rongcheng TV Station? I’m stuck bedridden at the hospital with nothing to do, so I’ll guarantee to contribute to the ratings for you each day."
"Thank you, Little Wei." Xia Duoduo forced a smile.
A sudden sound of a man lightly clearing his throat ca from behind.
When Xia Duoduo turned around, she saw Gu Moqian standing in front of her. She imdiately got up, "Mr. Gu."
"Hmm." Gu Moqian nodded lightly and indifferently.
Xia Duoduo could tell Gu Moqian was here to send her away. Thinking about Ji Wei’s condition, which had just begun to recover, and realizing she wasn’t suited to chatting for too long, Xia Duoduo quickly offered, "I... As soon as Xia Duoduo left, the air in the ward abruptly grew quiet.
As she saw the man approaching her, Ji Wei felt uneasy and turned her gaze toward the wall.
"The doctor ntioned your wound is healing well. After staying for another week, you’ll be able to go ho and rest," the man’s gentle voice reached her ears.
"Hmm." Ji Wei responded faintly.
Soon afterward, she heard the faint rustle of fabric. She wasn’t sure what Gu Moqian was doing, but she was unwilling to compromise by looking back.
Her hand within the blanket gradually tightened, her palm growing damp with sweat.
Suddenly, Ji Wei sensed the man’s breath growing closer. Her heart unexpectedly raced, and she couldn’t help but turn back abruptly.
She frowned, lightly reproaching him, "You said you wouldn’t touch ..."
The man looming above her had a chiseled and unmistakable profile, his deep, dark eyes quietly fixed on her. One hand leaned against her pillow, while the other held... a tube of lipstick!

This sort of gesture was far too intimate.
"I don’t need it." Ji Wei replied coldly, her eyes averting.
Her hands weren’t convenient for applying it herself, and deep down, she instinctively resisted the man’s move.
Watching a flush of red creep quickly over Ji Wei’s pale face, Gu Moqian’s eyes revealed a faint trace of amusent.
"There’s no need to feel shy. We are husband and wife."
Gu Moqian’s voice was low and smooth as he moved a little closer to her face.
Before Ji Wei could voice another protest, he brought the lipstick toward her lips, his expression ticulous as he applied it.
The lipstick had a faint lemongrass scent, light and refreshing. On her lips, it brought a cooling sensation that felt comfortable.
For a mont, Ji Wei forgot to react.
She quietly watched the man’s focused deanor, her thoughts briefly drifting, as if she’d returned to those overly sweet days of their early marriage.
