The servant had just spoken when Shen Yu rushed in, heading straight for the dining room. As soon as she saw Nan Huiru, she dropped to her knees with a loud thud: "Huiru, you must save the Zhu Family, I beg you!"
Shen Yu’s tears stread down her face.
Nan Huiru was baffled by her actions and reached out to help her up: "Shen Yu, if you have sothing to say, get up and talk."
"No, Huiru, I won’t get up unless you promise !" Shen Yu appeared frantic, clutching Nan Huiru’s clothes and refusing to let go. Her hair had been tousled by the night wind, leaving none of her usual elegance intact.
From the mont Shen Yu entered, Gu Moqian’s expression had been cold and dark.
Now, seeing her stubbornly refusing to leave, he turned to the two security guards chasing after her and reprimanded sharply: "Who allowed her to co in? Get her out imdiately!"
The security guards, already trembling with guilt for their negligence, rushed over at Gu Moqian’s command to drag Shen Yu away: "Mrs. Shen, you’d better leave."
"Huiru, for the sake of our many years as sisters, won’t you help ? I’m truly begging you!" Shen Yu was being dragged out by the two security guards but still clung desperately to Nan Huiru’s hand.
Nan Huiru’s face also darkened. She glanced at Gu Moqian before speaking, her tone asured: "Shen Yu, I can’t help you."
She knew that once her son made a decision, it was impossible to change.
"Huiru, Huiru! Please help us. I ca here because I had no other choice. Ming’an cannot live without the Zhu Family; this could kill him!"
Shen Yu wailed, but she was ultimately thrown out of the villa by the security guards.
"Mrs. Shen, please leave quickly. Don’t make things difficult for us." The security guards pushed Shen Yu beyond the iron gate, speaking in a cold voice.
Shen Yu climbed to her feet, grabbed onto the iron gate, and said defiantly: "I won’t leave. Let back in!"
The guards ignored her and turned away.
"Huiru, if you won’t help , I’ll stay kneeling here until you agree!" Shen Yu knelt again, shouting into the villa through the gate.
The dining room returned to silence.
Because of Shen Yu’s disruption, Nan Huiru had long lost her appetite. She stood up and said, "I’m full. You all take your ti eating."
Ji Wei watched Nan Huiru’s figure disappear at the staircase before retracting her gaze.
"You acted against the Zhu Family?" She looked at Gu Moqian.
Gu Moqian lowered his gaze and gently stroked the back of her hand: "Yes, they brought this upon themselves."
Ji Wei nodded and didn’t pursue the topic further.
The Zhu Family’s affairs might make Nan Huiru uncomfortable, but Ji Wei didn’t feel Gu Moqian had done anything wrong. Zhu Jianian, even in prison, still tried to tornt her; all of this was deserved.
After finishing their al, Ji Wei went upstairs first.
Outside, it was not clear when the snow had started falling, but it seed to be intensifying.
Through the door, Ji Wei heard a servant knock on Nan Huiru’s room and report: "Mrs. Nan, Mrs. Shen is still kneeling at the villa gate and refuses to leave. It’s freezing out and snowing harder. If this continues, I fear soone might die..."
After a mont’s silence, Ji Wei finally heard Nan Huiru’s reply: "Co with to take a look."
The sound of their footsteps grew distant, and Ji Wei snapped out of her thoughts. Holding the dicine prescribed by the hospital in her hand, she drank two sips with warm water, but before she could swallow, an overwhelming nausea surged again. She rushed to the bathroom.
Gu Moqian walked in just in ti to see Ji Wei erge pale-faced from the bathroom, looking quite frail.
"You vomited?" He walked over anxiously, holding her shoulders.
"Yes, I don’t know why, but every ti I take the dicine, I feel like throwing up," Ji Wei said softly, looking at him.
