Before Ji Wei could finish her sentence, Xia Duoduo hung up.
She helplessly pursed her lips into a smile.
Half an hour later, Xia Duoduo appeared at the hospital room door, leaning on her crutches.
"Miss Xia, co, co in quickly!" Aunt Zhu hurried over to help when she saw that Xia Duoduo’s left leg was still in a cast.
Ji Wei said, "Your leg is in such bad shape, you really didn’t need to co see ."
Since knowing Ji Wei, she rarely needed to be hospitalized, so Xia Duoduo was genuinely worried—injured leg or not, she had to co!

"Could it be you’ve been paralyzed from the waist down?" Xia Duoduo grew even more panicked, her face turning white as her eyes welled with tears. "What would we do if such a gorgeous beauty beca disabled? If your precious Qian-Qian decided he couldn’t handle it and left you..."
Seeing Xia Duoduo spiraling into absurdity and even on the verge of tears, Ji Wei hurriedly cut off her wild speculations: "Duoduo, you’re overthinking. I wasn’t in a car accident, not even a single strand of hair is missing."
"Then why can’t you get out of bed?" Xia Duoduo wiped at her tears and blinked, asking with confusion.
Aunt Zhu saw how uncomfortable Xia Duoduo was standing with her crutches and quickly brought over a chair, saying kindly, "Miss Xia, please sit down." Aunt Zhu lovingly glanced at Ji Wei and explained, "Our madam is pregnant—she has a little baby."
Xia Duoduo stared at Ji Wei in shock, her eyes slowly widening. After a long pause, she exclaid incredulously, "Ji Xiaowei, you’re—you’re really pregnant? Does this an I’m going to be a godmother soon?"
Xia Duoduo’s excitent nearly made her stand up from her chair, but halfway through, she rembered her injured leg and quickly sat back down.
"Yes, that’s right," Ji Wei smiled at her warmly.
"But why would being pregnant an you can’t get out of bed?" Xia Duoduo asked, puzzled. The Ji Wei she knew was never the delicate type.
"There was a slight incident a few days ago. The doctor told to rest for a while," Ji Wei explained, not wanting to elaborate on what had happened for fear of worrying Xia Duoduo.
Xia Duoduo clasped her best friend’s hand, adopting an unusually serious tone: "You’re too careless. When you’re pregnant, you shouldn’t be doing anything. Just take it easy and nurture yourself. You absolutely have to deliver my godson safely—you can’t let get excited over nothing!"
Ji Wei couldn’t help but laugh, "How do you know it’s going to be a son?"
"My instincts are always spot-on. It’s definitely a little prince at least eight or nine tis out of ten. Plus, with how amazing your and Mr. Gu’s genes are, the baby has to be an utterly adorable little guy," Xia Duoduo replied confidently.
Hearing Xia Duoduo’s words, Ji Wei seriously started imagining what their future baby might look like for the first ti.
A little prince who looked just like Gu Moqian, chubby and soft, charmingly adorable. He’d stretch out his tiny chubby hands and call out to her in a sweet, baby voice: "Mommy, hold ."
Oh dear, just picturing it made Ji Wei’s heart lt.
Seeing Ji Wei’s dreamy expression, Xia Duoduo couldn’t help but chuckle sneakily and coughed, feigning seriousness: "Ahem... By the way, I noticed your room is pretty spacious, and there’s a spot for family mbers to stay. Why don’t I just stay with you? We can chat and keep each other from getting bored."

At night, Gu Moqian stayed here. Wouldn’t it be a little awkward if Xia Duoduo joined as well?
But after only a few seconds of hesitation, she said, "...Alright."
With Xia Duoduo’s leg injured, Ji Wei couldn’t feel at ease leaving her alone at ho.
