Xi Nanfeng awkwardly scratched his head, unable to co up with a rebuttal.
After a few seconds of awkward silence, he suddenly rembered why he was here and smacked his forehead: "Oh, right! Breakfast is ready, hurry up or it’ll get cold."
"You made it?" Gu Moqian glanced at him.
Xi Nanfeng curled his lips disdainfully: "Do you think a man like would roll up his sleeves to cook breakfast?"
"Oh, so it was Miss Qin," Gu Moqian said, as though sothing had clicked.
"She got up around six and went to the kitchen, saying she wanted to make a lavish breakfast," Xi Nanfeng explained.
Gu Moqian, expressionless, suggested, "You’d better go check on her. I’m worried if you’re not there, the kitchen could end up catching fire at any mont."
Xi Nanfeng thought Gu Moqian made a good point and nodded before dashing off imdiately.
When Gu Moqian turned back, he noticed Ji Wei lying motionless on the couch with a throw pillow covering her head ever since Xi Nanfeng had made his appearance. He couldn’t help but smile and reached out to remove the pillow: "He’s gone already."
Ji Wei sat up as if nothing had happened, tidying her slightly ssy hair, and smiled at him: "I’ll go change my clothes real quick, I’ll be back soon!"
After saying that, she darted away in a flash.

When the two of them walked downstairs, Ji Wei saw Qin Sixue coming out of the kitchen with a large pot of porridge, looking quite enthusiastic. Spotting them, she greeted warmly: "Sister Wei, Mr. Gu, I just finished making porridge! Co and have so!"
As they walked toward the dining room, Qin Sixue first scooped out a bowl and handed it to Xi Nanfeng with an expectant look: "Brother Nanfeng, try the porridge I made!"
Xi Nanfeng caught a strong burnt sll wafting up and frowned. When he looked down and saw the black, charred mass in the bowl, he imdiately pushed it away with a look of disdain: "Your porridge is burnt to a crisp. Are you sure it’s even edible?"
Qin Sixue gulped nervously and explained: "It’s a little burnt, sure, but I tried it earlier, and it’s still okay. It’s my first ti making porridge, Brother Nanfeng, give so credit, please?"
As she spoke, the petite woman kept blinking her eyes at him flirtatiously.
Xi Nanfeng montarily lost himself in her gaze, but he quickly steeled himself and said firmly, "Not eating it. Take it away!"
If he ate it, he’d almost certainly end up with an upset stomach—and he had no plans to stay chained to the bathroom.
"I’ll give it a try." Ji Wei saw the tension between the two and decided to step in to diffuse the situation.
Qin Sixue was thrilled and eagerly scooped out a bowl for her.
Ji Wei looked at the bowl, which was even darker than sesa paste, and her hand trembled slightly. Bracing herself, she brought the bowl up to her lips.
But before she could take a sip, Gu Moqian snatched the bowl away.
"This porridge is too burnt to be drinkable. I’ll make a simple breakfast for everyone instead," Gu Moqian said, carrying the bowl straight into the kitchen, leaving the other three with looks of shock on their faces.
Gu Moqian personally cooking? This was practically royal treatnt!
Ten minutes later.
Gu Moqian had toasted so bread and fried golden, crispy eggs. Though simple, it was undeniably appetizing.
The three of them couldn’t help but swallow their saliva.
Gu Moqian poured a glass of milk and handed it to Ji Wei: "Ingredients were limited, so make do with this."
Limited ingredients, limited ti—and yet he managed to prepare breakfast for four people. That was impressive!
Ji Wei looked at the man, admiration spreading across her face.
anwhile, Xi Nanfeng couldn’t wait any longer and grabbed a slice of toast, wolfing it down hungrily.
Seeing Ji Wei still lost in thought, Gu Moqian picked up a piece of fried egg and placed it into her bowl, speaking casually: "You worked hard last night. Eat more."
