Xi Nanfeng turned his head and had just taken two steps when he suddenly saw Gu Moqian standing by the kitchen door with Ji Wei on his arm, their gazes filled with unspeakable aning.
"Why’d you bring Miss Qin here?" Gu Moqian stared at him with a half-smile.
"I’m not great at rejecting won... she insisted on coming, what could I do?"
Seeing Xi Nanfeng clearly guilty but still acting all self-righteous, Gu Moqian couldn’t help but laugh.
After finishing his sentence, Xi Nanfeng quickly walked away.
When he finally rummaged through and found the first aid kit, he ca back to see all three of them sitting on the living room sofa.
Xi Nanfeng placed the first aid kit on the table, took out sothing resembling a burn ointnt, and tossed it to Ji Wei: "You help her apply it."
Before Ji Wei could respond, the ointnt was decisively tossed back by Gu Moqian. He held Ji Wei’s hand and looked at Xi Nanfeng, "My woman isn’t here to play maid for you."
Gu Moqian glanced knowingly at Ji Wei, his deep eyes filled with tenderness: "In this lifeti, she’ll only ever apply dicine for ."
Xi Nanfeng’s mouth twitched, "It’s just applying so ointnt, Old Mo, must you? And besides, Miss Qin is a woman."
"Even if she’s a woman, it’s still a no."
Xi Nanfeng was speechless.
Isn’t this possessiveness a bit over the top?
He turned his head and saw Qin Sixue holding up her blistered hands, her small face scrunched up. In the end, Xi Nanfeng couldn’t bear it and picked up the ointnt to walk over.
But why did those two pairs of gazes nearby feel so unnerving?
Xi Nanfeng glared at the two "light bulbs": "It’s late. Aren’t you two going upstairs to rest?"
"Rest?" Gu Moqian dragged out the word, his tone deeply suggestive and lazily glanced at Xi Nanfeng, "Old Ye hasn’t returned safely yet. I’m not in the mood right now." When has Old Xi ever applied dicine for a woman? Such a rare spectacle – there’s no way he was going to miss it.
Ji Wei’s face heated up.
Xi Nanfeng’s mouth twitched even harder.
For crying out loud, when he said "rest," he ant it literally, alright?
Gu Moqian refused to leave, so Xi Nanfeng had no choice but to ignore the extra four eyes nearby and turned to look at Qin Sixue. She was seated on the sofa; should he squat down to apply the ointnt?
Just imagining himself squatting in front of a woman, like so cliché scene in a romance novel, made him feel increasingly awkward.
Qin Sixue, not wanting to see him look so conflicted, broke the silence: "Brother Nanfeng, I... I’ll just do it myself."
She reached out, trying to grab the ointnt from his hand, but Xi Nanfeng suddenly crouched down. Grabbing her small, soft hand, he quickly squeezed a dollop of the milky-white ointnt and began applying it.
"Ahhh..."
Hearing her reaction, Xi Nanfeng lifted his head only to see Qin Sixue furrowing her brows in pain. Thinking he might’ve been too rough earlier, he imdiately softened his movents.
The minty-scented ointnt spread over her burn, bringing a cooling sensation that eased the pain. Watching Xi Nanfeng carefully apply the ointnt, Qin Sixue felt her heart skip a beat.
A man who was never gentle suddenly becoming patient and attentive – that was the deadliest kind of charm.
Softly, Qin Sixue said, "Thank you, Brother Nanfeng."
Xi Nanfeng’s movents stiffened, and he hurriedly covered up his reaction by stuffing the ointnt back in the first aid kit and standing up. "You’re such a troublemaker! Next ti you get burned, you can count out!"
He slamd the lid onto the first aid kit, grabbed it, and turned to walk off.
Watching his retreating back, Qin Sixue’s eyes filled with a faint sadness.
So, in Brother Nanfeng’s heart, she was nothing more than a troublemaker...
Then again, she had been shalessly chasing after him all the way to Japan – any man would get annoyed, wouldn’t they?
