The Zii Club had been closed for so ti for renovations and had just reopened in the past couple of days.

When Ji Wei arrived, she found out that the club wouldn’t open until five in the afternoon, so she had no choice but to return to Shanshui Manor first.

Aunt Zhu was surprised to see her dragging her luggage back so suddenly.

"Madam, you’re not leaving anymore? Have you eaten lunch?" Aunt Zhu asked with concern. The kitten, Milk, leapt from Ji Wei’s arms as soon as it saw her, rubbing against her feet and letting out soft owing sounds as if acting coquettishly.

Ji Wei wasn’t in the mood to play with Milk. She told Aunt Zhu she wasn’t hungry and went straight upstairs.

The wait was unbearably long.

Sitting on the edge of the bed, Ji Wei leaned against it. Her mind was filled with scenes of Gu Moqian being hunted down by the mafia in Japan, so she had no choice but to grab a bottle of champagne, using alcohol to numb herself temporarily and break away from her wild thoughts.

"ow."

Milk slipped into the room through the half-open door and rubbed itself against her lap.

Looking down at the snow-white little creature lying obediently on her legs, Ji Wei couldn’t help but raise her hand to stroke its soft fur.

Milk purred contentedly.

With the male owner away, it could finally enter the bedroom and monopolize the female owner!

Ji Wei took a sip of champagne and whispered to the kitten in her arms, "Milk, what do you think Mo Qian is doing right now in Tokyo? He really is just there for a business negotiation, right?"

Ji Wei desperately hoped that everything she had overheard last ti was nothing but an illusion.

Suddenly rembering sothing, she grasped her phone again and dialed Gu Moqian’s number.

As expected, the result was the sa—his phone was still turned off.

It was highly likely that Gu Moqian had switched to another phone with a local Japanese number she didn’t know as soon as he arrived in Japan.

Feeling deflated, Ji Wei tossed her phone aside. Her eyes reddened involuntarily.

But monts later, she quickly wiped away the tears that hadn’t yet fallen and began tapping rapidly on her phone screen.

She looked up the address Xi Nanfeng had ntioned on the map—it was surprisingly close to Ginza. Ji Wei took out so paper and a pen to make ticulous notes, even planning the route to get there after landing.

After finishing all this, her legs had gone a bit numb from sitting. Hugging Milk, she stood up and moved to sit on the edge of the bed.

At that mont, the bedroom door opened. Aunt Zhu walked in, carrying a steaming bowl of soup noodles.

"Madam, you should eat a little sothing. Mr. Gu would feel distressed if he knew you were skipping als." Aunt Zhu placed the bowl in front of her.

At the ntion of Gu Moqian, Ji Wei’s expression darkened for a brief mont. However, the fragrant aroma wafting from the soup noodles stirred her appetite, reluctantly so. Even though she wasn’t initially hungry, the sll teased her into wanting a taste.

"Thank you, Aunt Zhu." She didn’t refuse this ti, taking the bowl and starting to eat.

Aunt Zhu waited by her side until she finished and then took the empty bowl downstairs.

Ji Wei glanced at the ti. It was still two hours until five o’clock.

She carried Milk out to the balcony.

The weather was neither too hot nor too cold. The breeze brushing against her face felt refreshing, gradually calming her emotions.

No matter what dangers lay ahead, she had to be by Gu Moqian’s side. Nothing could stop her! For now, however, she needed to gather her strength to face the imdiate situation. With that thought, she set an alarm and curled up on the sofa for a short nap.

By four-thirty, Ji Wei left on ti.

The Zii Club had just opened its doors for business. A woman dressed in a long-sleeved dress, wearing high heels, and delicately made-up appeared at the entrance—she was the first guest of the day.

The doorman greeted Ji Wei warmly as he opened the door for her, asking courteously, "May I know how many people are in your party? Would you prefer a private room or a table?"

Ji Wei smiled faintly and replied, "I’m not here for drinks. I’m here to see your boss."
