Zii thought that from the day they watched the movie, their relationship would gradually improve until they ca together again.
However, destiny always plays against common logic.
At night, Zii was already dressed in pajamas, ready for bed. Lu Shanhu’s loyal subordinate A Chu suddenly ran frantically into the villa.
"What happened?" Zii heard the commotion, covered herself, and went downstairs.
A Chu imdiately approached her upon seeing her and said urgently, "Boss Zi, Mr. Hu is caught in an ambush, the situation is urgent, and we need you to lead so people to provide support."
Upon hearing that Lu Shanhu was in danger, Zii hurried upstairs to change, then gathered her people and rushed to the incident location.
...
One month later.
Zii felt like she had been trapped in a very long nightmare.
In the dream, flas soared to the sky, constantly chasing behind her, and she ran tirelessly, surrounded by endless darkness, without boundaries or sound.
It seed the entire world only had her alone.
Zii ran to exhaustion and finally collapsed, fainting on the ground.
"Doctor, she has been in a coma for more than a month. When will she wake up?"
"The patient’s physical recovery is quite good, so it should be in the next couple of days..."
Faint conversations drifted to her ears, and Zii felt one of the voices was familiar. She moved her eyeballs, tried to open her eyes, but it was like heavy stones weighed down her eyelids, making it impossible to lift them.
She lay there, hazily, for another two days.
Though unable to open her eyes these two days, Zii could clearly hear the conversations beside her bed and recall the raging flas and thunderous roar before she fell into a coma.
That day, following A Chu to rescue the people, unexpectedly, they fell into a trap. The adversary had set bombs in the underground warehouse!
They swiftly retreated, but just as Zii’s foot reached the door, there was a loud explosion, flas erupted before her eyes, engulfing the warehouse completely.
The mighty explosive force made her lose consciousness instantly.
Recalling that mont now, Zii still feels deep-seated fear.
Lu Shanhu stayed by Zii’s bedside daily, rambling on to her.
"Little Zi, that man ca asking about your whereabouts. I told him you didn’t want to see him again and to give up... you won’t bla , will you?"
The rough hand with light calluses tightly held hers; she could feel the subtle tremble in it.
"Little Zi, when will you wake up? It’s godfather’s fault. If you hadn’t hurried over that day to help , you wouldn’t be hurt like this..."
The man’s voice was filled with self-bla, and Zii felt profoundly sad hearing it. She struggled to move her lips, "Godfather..."
The woman in bed suddenly spoke. Because she hadn’t spoken for a long ti, added to her frail condition, her voice was exceedingly hoarse.
"Little Zi, you’re awake? Really awake?"
Lu Shanhu saw the woman on the bed move her lips, then her eyelashes trembled, and her eyes slowly opened. He couldn’t contain the excitent in his heart.
"Godfather... why aren’t the lights on, it’s too dark..." Zii slowly turned her head, following the sound to look in Lu Shanhu’s direction, asking weakly.
Lu Shanhu shook all over, his face turned suddenly pale.
The butler standing behind him also found it strange. The bedroom was clearly brightly lit, so why did the young lady say it was too dark?
Lu Shanhu stared at Zii’s lifeless eyes, gently raised his other hand, and waved it before her eyes, "Little Zi, can you see ?"
His voice was noticeably trembling.
