Ye Cheng looked up at her, and uncertainty flashed across the woman’s eyes.

"It’s been three years, and we’ve never sat down like this for a drink and a chat. I really hope this isn’t a dream." With no response from the man, Zii murmured to herself.

Ye Cheng paused slightly in his action of pouring wine, sothing fleetingly flashed in his phoenix eyes.

He silently pushed the wine glass, filled two-thirds full with red wine, in front of her, then picked up his own glass, gripping the stem with his long, fair fingers, and swirled it gently.

Even he couldn’t figure out why he had to intervene and teach that muscle man a lesson earlier.

When he saw the muscle man’s lecherous gaze drifting toward Zii and his blatantly provocative words, a naless fury ignited in Ye Cheng’s heart, making him unable to restrain himself from acting.

"A Cheng, cheers~"

Zii’s cheerful voice suddenly rang out, her smile dazzling and charming as she proactively clinked her glass against his.

Ding——

The crisp sound of clinking glasses filled the air.

Ye Cheng could tell she was in a good mood. Stunned for a mont, he slowly brought the glass to his lips, drinking it bit by bit.

The two of them drank one glass after another.

Before long, they had finished all the wine on the table.

Zii staggered to her feet, "A Cheng, the wine is finished, I’ll get more."

Seeing the woman’s cheeks already flushed, Ye Cheng’s eyes deepened as he grabbed her hand, "You’re drunk."

Zii giggled foolishly and shook her head, "I won’t get drunk, I’m the queen of a thousand cups."

Ultimately, Ye Cheng was unable to stop her from getting more wine.

Half an hour later, Ye Cheng looked at Zii, who was now slumped over the table, too drunk to get up, and finally spoke, "Where are your people? Let them send you ho."

"I gave them... the night off," Zii mumbled in response.

"..."

Ye Cheng didn’t know whether she was telling the truth, but in her current state, there was no way he could let her go back alone.

He helped her up, and she leaned limply against him.

Ye Cheng’s body stiffened slightly, silently supporting her as they left.

"Thank you, A Cheng~"

Inside the car, as Ye Cheng was fastening her seatbelt, Zii suddenly opened her bleary eyes and giggled.

Her eyes, curved like crescent moons and tinged with the allure of drunkenness, looked beautiful.

A strange feeling swept through Ye Cheng’s heart.

He feigned calm as he took his place in the driver’s seat and started the car.

During the drive, Zii remained silent, and Ye Cheng focused intently on the road. He feared that seeing her in this state would make his heart waver even more.

It was only when they reached the villa’s entrance that Ye Cheng turned to glance at the woman.

But Zii had already fallen asleep, eyes closed.

Ye Cheng spoke in a low voice, "We’re here."

The woman’s head rested against the car seat, unresponsive.

Ye Cheng sighed and had to extend his hand to shake her lightly, "Wake up, it’s ti to get out."

Zii remained unresponsive, her long lashes quivering slightly, breathing evenly.

Ye Cheng had no choice but to get out of the car, walk to the other side, and open the door. After unfastening her seatbelt, he carried her out of the car.

Zii’s head instinctively nestled against his chest, looking very content, still not waking.

Ye Cheng carried Zii into the villa all the way.

The butler saw this and hurried over. Seeing Zii drunk again, he sighed, "Miss, why do you drink this much? Mr. Ye, you should have advised her a bit..."

Butler Uncle Chen was soone Zii had brought from her hotown, having watched her grow up from a young age.

He had long since treated Zii as his own daughter and was also a witness to their shared past.

"I didn’t take good care of her, I’m sorry, Uncle Chen," Ye Cheng sincerely expressed his remorse.
