Chapter 426: More Spending?!
Bai Xun continued and told Lin Xuan Qi of his plan.
"After getting there, I will get my acquaintance there to help and source for anyone selling their shops.
"If that fails, I will personally go around and try to persuade some of the owners to consider it.
"However, that would depend on how much..."
He wasn’t sure of Lin Xuan Qi’s budget and he waited for Lin Xuan Qi’s reply.
Lin Xuan Qi thought about it for a moment and said, "For every retail shop, I can offer up to a hundred taels of gold."
The house and retail shop he bought in Bian Jing was around this price with help from the Huo and Lu Clan.
He figured that the price in Gui Feng City shouldn’t be too far off.
Thankfully, the rice, soap and Lin Clan Taste Transcendent Essence business had gotten him around four hundred and fifty taels of gold so far.
Most of what he got from the young masters in Bian Jing had already been spent on buying the factories.
Bai Xun shook his head at him and said, "I don’t think a hundred taels of gold would be required.
"They should cost only around eighty taels of gold at the most."
Lee He Song interjected and said, "If you can’t find any sellers, you can approach the Chu Family and look for Chu Xu.
"Just tell her that you have been tasked by Lee He Song.
"She would help you in whatever way she can."
When he heard what Lee He Song had said, Lin Xuan Qi thought about who this Chu Xu was.
Was she his friend or something closer?
He was curious but he kept quiet about it.
"Take this as the budget for your trip there.
"Help me get it done and after the shops have been purchased, you can help me with the setting up and recruitment of the new workers."
Lin Xuan Qi handed two taels of silver to Bai Xun and Bai Xun cupped his hands at him.
"I shall accomplish what you ask of me."
With that settled, Lin Xuan Qi decided to get back home for lunch.
It had been a while for him to do so and he missed the times that he was able to spend his time in the mansion with Xue Cong and the others.
Things weren’t too peaceful so far and it was best for him to be in the mansion anyway.

"Master Lin." The guards greeted him when they saw him alighting from the horse carriage.
Lin Xuan Qi gave them a nod but he didn’t enter the mansion immediately.
He walked over to the coachman and said, "I would need you to buy horses and carts for the factories soon."
"Horses and carts? That’s not a problem, I will get it done for you, Master Lin." The coachman replied.
"That would have to wait until the stable is built in the factories first." Lin Xuan Qi said and realized that he needed more people to take care of the horses.
"Recommend some people you know who can take care of the horses." He glanced at the coachman and said.
"I will do that too." The coachman was glad to do so.
He and the other coachman had been well taken care of in the Lin Mansion so far and he wouldn’t mind letting his friends and relatives have such a stable job too.
Lin Xuan Qi let him bring the horse carriage back to the stable and he got back into the mansion.
Servant girls who were sweeping the fallen leaves away greeted him as he got back into the main hall.
Not too far away from the main hall, he could also hear Ah Di’s voice reciting after Liu Ju Zheng.
Ah Di’s studies and preparation for the imperial examinations had begun.
Lin Xuan Qi approached Old Shao and told him of his plan for the stables in the factories and Old Shao was glad to have more work for him.

"I’m fine, don’t worry too much about me. The weather is getting cold, best for you and mother-in-law to put on more clothes." Lin Xuan Qi replied in return.
He saw what Old Shao was wearing and it reminded him of it.
Being too busy with the business had gotten him too distracted from everything else.
"Xue Cong has asked Yue Jie to make a few sets of autumn and winter clothes for us.
"It’s already done but I prefer to put them on after work."
Old Shao explained with the tool in his hand and wiped the sweat off his forehead.
"Then, do take care of yourselves too." Lin Xuan Qi said and went looking for Xue Cong and Yue Jie.
He was pleased with how they had managed things in the mansion.
"The presents for the guests, are they ready yet..." Xue Cong was checking the progress on the preparations of the wedding with Xiu when Lin Xuan Qi saw her.
"Master Lin." Xiu greeted him and quickly poured him a cup of tea.
"You are early today." Xue Cong said with a smile and she glanced over at Xiu, "Get Auntie Sue to have lunch ready."
Xiu gave her a sheepish smile and she left immediately to leave the room for them.
Xue Cong frowned and shook her head at Xiu when she saw Xiu’s cheeky expression.
"So, how was your day?" After a few moments of silence, Xue Cong glanced over at Lin Xuan Qi and asked.
She wasn’t sure why Lin Xuan Qi had come over to find her and she was curious about what he was doing so far.
Lin Xuan Qi shrugged and gave her a smile.
"Everything is going according to plan." He said and got closer to Xue Cong.
"I’ve gotten someone to explore Gui Feng City for me and..."
Xue Cong nodded her head as Lin Xuan Qi told her about his day so far.
And when he was done, he glanced at her and asked, "What about yours?"
