Nezha finished off the horse bandits, put away his long halberd, feeling imnsely satisfied, and galloped towards the town.

Dusk.

Sunset.

The sky was not dark yet, but the shadows of stars were already appearing above, and they were brighter than usual.

The sound of gongs and drums cleaning the streets began in the town, and people on the main street imdiately started heading into the shops on both sides, chaotic yet orderly. As for those passing rchants who had nowhere to go, they could only squeeze into those dark alleys along with the beggars.

With so luck, they were extorted for money but could still save their lives. With no luck, everything turned to nothingness, and eighteen years later, a brave man would rise again.

This was not an everyday occurrence. The main street of Lingquan Town was built wide and straight to facilitate the passage of large troops. Whenever the cavalry passed by, gongs were sounded to clear the streets in advance.

Sure enough, after a while, a group of cavalry rushing to aid Sanshan Pass galloped along the main street, and because water had been sprinkled on the road in advance, no dust was raised.

The townspeople of Lingquan Town were already accustod to this and thought to co out after a while. However, though the cavalry had passed, another set of heavy hoofbeats approached from afar.

At the inn, the waiter had already removed the door panels, and the guests from outside were stretching their heads outside, half of their bodies still cautiously hidden behind the doors.

A red shadow quickly approached; on a fiery red steed, a small rider abruptly pulled the reins, causing the tall horse to neigh and rise on its hind legs. The large iron hooves descended from the sky like a monster breaking free from the ancient wilderness, causing everyone in the inn to scurry back inside. When they looked again, peace had returned outside the inn.

Though not very capable, the waiter, accustod to grand scenes, already had a smile on his face as he went to lead the horse, earning two pieces of silver as a tip.

Thus, the waiter smiled even more happily and shouted inside, "Today, add half a portion of barley porridge to the young master’s horse feed, with honey added!"

Nezha chose a table by the main street, just like yesterday.

The helpers in the inn began to hang lanterns and light candles.

The innkeeper behind the counter and the rugged rogues in the inn looked at Nezha differently, their expressions changing multiple tis.

They were surprised that Nezha could still return alive after going out today.

They were also surprised that the skilled sheep-catcher, the notorious horse bandit ’Vulture,’ had not returned yet.

Everyone stared at him, their gazes sharp and piercing.

Even the prostitute who had so bad luck glanced at him with unexpected interest.

Obviously, they had been staying in this place for a long ti and knew what could happen in this world.

Nezha took a sip of tea, aware of these people’s reactions and that they already knew about the horse bandits’ ambush.

They had no obligation to warn him, but he also had no reason to show them any courtesy.

Nezha took another sip of tea to clear his mouth, and said nonchalantly, "Everyone has food and drinks at their tables, just enjoy your own als. No matter how much you stare at , I’m not going to treat you."

After he spoke, he felt the gazes on him decrease by almost half. It wasn’t that they were afraid of a child, but when out and about, everyone is shrewd, and before they know his background, they preferred to avoid trouble.

However, people are diverse, and while so are cautious, there are also bold and curious ones who, unclear of his background, would try to find out more.

This man has long hair tied behind his head, dressed in white, with a dark-colored belt around his waist and a long sword hanging from it. He looks to be about twenty years old, resembling a Swordsman wandering the world.

He sat at the table unmoved, with a cup filled with wine hopping between his fingers, yet not a drop of wine spilled.

Seeing the calluses on his hands, everyone seated knew that although he looked like a pretty boy, the sword in his hand was definitely not a toy.

The man chuckled and said, "What’s the na of this young friend? I have dealt with several prominent families in Sanshan Pass, yet I have never heard of such an exceptional lad in any of them."

By praising Nezha on the surface, he subtly implied that the child is not from a local prominent family, elevating his own status by stating his familiarity with the major households of Sanshan Pass.

Nezha gave him a chilly glance, thinking how appropriate it was to ask about soone else’s background without introducing oneself first, especially in such a public setting, his intentions were all too clear.

He said, "My surna is Li, with a given na of Dad, my full na is Your Dad, and everyone usually calls Dad, so you can call that too."

At this, the whole room burst into laughter.

The Swordsman in white’s smile froze on his face; he gritted his teeth and said with a cold laugh, "Very well, lad, do you know who I am? I am You Gaolang, the personal guard of Wang Hanwen, the esteed son of Wang Mansion in Lingquan Town, a scion of the Immortal Sect. Think carefully, do you really want to offend here?"

His threatening words did not sound very severe, however, curiously, as soon as he finished speaking, the laughter in the inn lowered slightly.

"What did you say?"

At his words, Nezha’s expression changed drastically. Seeing this, You Gaolang’s face flashed with cold smiles, proudly saying, "If you know you’re wrong, there’s still ti. Kneel down and lick my shoes, and I’ll forgive you."

Nezha dug at his ears as if checking he hadn’t misheard, then looked at You Gaolang with undeniable scorn, saying, "I originally thought you were just a vagrant on the streets, gracing you to call this young master ’Dad’. Turns out you are nothing but soone else’s dog. Now rember don’t ever call dad, I don’t serve as a father to dogs."

With those words, the entire inn erupted into uncontrollable laughter.

Only three were not laughing: the innkeeper, You Gaolang whose teeth were nearly crushed in rage, and a prostitute.

At that mont, You Gaolang was indeed on the verge of fury. Seeing that Nezha took pleasure in his annoyance only made him even more exhilarated, and he added, "Oh, I just rembered. I have a big black dog back ho, I’ll ask him if he despises you or might agree to be your dad."

Laughter filled the inn, and You Gaolang’s sword was already drawn from its sheath.

Although his opponent was just a child, failing to challenge after such a severe public humiliation would an he couldn’t show his face around Sanshan Pass anymore.

But he had not considered that if he hadn’t planned to take advantage of Nezha in the first place, he wouldn’t have put himself in this position.

He took a deep breath and suddenly leaped up a full ten feet, a mysterious glow flashed, and his sword aid straight for Nezha’s neck.

This sword move was incredibly fast, and as he struck, many bystanders knowledgeable in Martial Arts exclaid in shock, wondering what kind of family the Wang Family of Lingquan Town was, seeing such extraordinary skill in a re servant of a son.

Those who knew the details of the Wang Family in Lingquan Town were even more impressed, thinking how the Wang Family had such influence, sheltered in Sanshan Pass, and now their eldest son had even caught the attention of an Immortal to be admitted to the Immortal Sect, likely to rise higher in the future.

Of course, so felt it was a pity; such a bright young kid, so arrogantly and ignorantly provoking the Wang Family here.

They naturally assud that the kid’s family must have so backing too, but as You Gaolang had ntioned earlier, when you’re away from your own territory, you should understand one thing.

A mighty dragon cannot crush a local snake.

But even more so, so thought further ahead, their backsides already lifting from their seats, planning to head to the stable behind the inn and lead away Nezha’s horse the mont the kid dies, taking advantage of the chaos to flee far away.
