A soldier in the central army of Xiqi had his left shoulder blade pierced by a bronze spear, the broken end of his collarbone puncturing his chain armor. Yet, with his broken arm, he clamped down on the enemy’s halberd, and with his right arm, thrust his sword into the enemy’s throat.

Such a grueso scene would shock even a cultivator, yet it was very real, unfolding in every corner of this land.

The army, like a reaper, harvested lives from morning till dusk, and then, in a tacit agreent, both sides withdrew like the receding tide.

By the end, the battlefield had turned into a swamp of blood and flesh.

The setting sun caught on a broken halberd’s blade, burning holes in the clouds the size of copper coins.

The shadows of cold crows above the pile of corpses were woven into a black net. As they folded their wings and dived, the arcs ford by their tail feathers resembled the trajectories of dayti arrows.

The corpses still had their eyes wide open, with half a setting sun frozen within their pupils.

Nezha noticed that the "plop" sound of a crow pecking at eyeballs was astonishingly similar to the sound of the boy’s blade piercing an enemy’s abdon earlier.

In the northwest corner, a tattered "Yin" banner was being trampled by fifteen crows.

The banner wrapped around a headless corpse, its neck cavity filled with clotted blood reflecting the evening glow, which briefly ward the frozen soil within a three-zhang radius.

The crows lingered longer because of this, until the moonlight turned the blood pools to shimring rcury.

Nezha stood in the sea of corpses and blood. In the grand city behind him, Jiang Ziya was recording the battle’s account with Ji Fa and the military officers.

In this battle, Xiqi lost 1,800 people and had 4,220 injured. Due to Lu Xiong having a special unit to cut down cavalry horses’ legs, 1,200 warhorses were lost, and over 3,000 pieces of armor were damaged.

Beheaded: 8,730 levels.

Under the moonlight, more living people appeared on the battlefield.

These were laborers from Xiqi City.

Nezha had seen their faces before, but now the lively expressions of their past were gone, replaced only with fear, and numbness after prolonged terror.

Moonlight as bright as silver.

The laborers used iron hooks to sort through the bodies, cleaning the battlefield.

A young soldier was dragged by his ribs, still clutching a piece of millet cake tightly—no one knew why he held onto it during the chaos and near-death monts of the battle.

Perhaps his mother had placed it in his pack, and it had long since soaked in blood, turning into a dark red lump of mush.

Ao Yu descended beside Nezha, carefully finding a clean spot to stand. Her white dress was even cleaner than fresh snow. Despite the stench all around, it seed an invisible glass barrier protected her from the gri of the human world.

The most unique feature was the vermillion dot at her brow. Not akin to common rouge, it looked as if a star had been plucked from the nine-layered heaven and pressed into her forehead. When dark clouds tried to swallow the moon, the vermillion dot emitted a faint light, dispersing the ghostly mists within a hundred-zhang radius like smoke in a watercolor painting.

As the wind picked up, the silver bells tangled in her hair rang softly, and at the sound wave spreading out, three crows lost the eyeballs they had just picked up.

They tilted their heads to observe this girl. The blood droplets on their beaks fell in mid-air and turned into a string of coral beads.

Crows are very intelligent birds. After staring at Ao Yu for a while, they sensed the faint trace of dragon majesty she emanated, despite her attempts to conceal it, and flew off in a fright.

Ao Yu, however, was looking at Nezha.

Nezha stood in the moonlight, his ink-colored robe seed crafted from the fabric of midnight itself. The material wasn’t silk or satin, but more akin to crows’ feathers dipped in a cold pond.

The cloud-patterned boots on his feet pressed into the soft ground, squeezing out a blood-filled bubble.

"Why not go into the city," Ao Yu asked.

"Thinking about so things."

Seeing his downcast eyes, Ao Yu smiled, "War is always this bloody."

"Is that what concerns you?" Nezha raised his head. "If I wasn’t prepared for this, I would have died at the hands of Wang Mo and the others today. Why are you here?"

"If I had broken through to the Golden Immortal Realm, I could’ve helped you today. I heard from Uncle Jiang that you were poisoned by Li Xingba’s Three Corpses Enchanting Smoke today?"

"Little Dragon Girl, are you worried about ?" Nezha glanced at Ao Yu’s increasingly delicate and thin face under the moonlight, a mocking smile appearing in his eyes.

Ao Yu laughed, "Caring about you isn’t allowed? What, worried your sweetheart A Yao will get jealous? Rest assured, I have a good relationship with A Yao, and besides, you’re not that great. Even if you’re married, I wouldn’t steal you away."

The Little Dragon Girl was quite carefree, and Nezha’s old face flushed red. He coughed dryly twice, then said seriously, "Fortunately, I defended swiftly and was only mildly poisoned. By the ti the armies clashed in the afternoon, I had mostly expelled the toxin."

"The Three Poisons of Greed, Hate, and Delusion specifically harm the foundation of Dao. You should be more careful."

Nezha looked into the distance, murmuring, "No worries, Wang Mo and the others from Nine Dragon Island are not my match, I just worry about what cos next."

"I rember you used to say: One should worry about today, not tomorrow."

"Sigh, that’s easier said than done."

Though they won today, the events that transpired were indeed unexpected.

Originally, the Four Saints of Nine Dragon Island were supposed to be under Zhang Guifang’s command. When the battle started, with Long Xuhu and Nezha’s assistance, they were outmatched. As a result, Li Xingba used the Earth Splitting Pearl and nearly killed Jiang Ziya. When Wang Mo was about to behead Jiang Ziya, Manjusri Vast Dharma Heavenly Venerate from Five Dragon Mountain, who later beca known as Manjusri Bodhisattva in Buddhism, arrived with his disciple Jinzha to assist.

Manjusri used the Dragon Escape Stake to trap Wang Mo, and Jinzha beheaded him. These two were the reinforcents.

Later, Zhang Guifang led his army in a fierce battle from dawn until noon, unable to break through, he committed suicide fulfilling his loyalty, and his Primordial Spirit went to the Enfeoffnt Platform, later conferred as "Sangn Star Lord".

Among the Four Saints of Nine Dragon Island, only Li Xingba escaped the encirclent. Later, while resting, he encountered Muzha, a disciple of Jiugong Mountain White Crane Cave Pu Xian Perfected, and was killed by him with the male and female Wugou swords.

Here was another reinforcent.

Now, the originally dead Zhang Guifang was still alive, imprisoned in Xiqi’s dungeon, reportedly treated with good wine and food.

The Four Saints of Nine Dragon Island were all killed by Nezha alone, yet the reinforcents who should have appeared did not.

That was manageable, but the full-scale war between Xiqi and Chengtang now ant one side must be destroyed for it to end.

If the following Chengtang offensive were as described in the narratives, with Lu Xiong’s complete defeat, the four generals of the Demon Family from Jiang Pass would be next to attack.

These four were formidable, far exceeding the Four Saints of Nine Dragon Island.

Nezha still rembered in Zhaoge, when the Flower Fox Mink returned to its true form, it resembled a white elephant, gulping down a Golden Immortal, chewing and crushing the sight still vivid in his mind.

Later, Han Dulong and Xue Ehu of Jinting Mountain Jade House Cave ca to rescue, and the fad Yang Jian of Jade Spring Mountain Golden Mist Cave Master Yuding’s disciple also provided support, winning with strategies.

If no reinforcents co then, Nezha thought, facing them alone, unless he advanced to the Taiyi Golden Immortal Realm, it would be nearly impossible to win.

But now, he had just entered the Golden Immortal Realm, not yet able to fully utilize his abilities, let alone grasp the elusive Three Flowers Gathering at the Top and Five Qi Chaoyuan.

What on earth was happening in this world?

"Taiyi Golden Immortal Realm isn’t easy to achieve, but there is a way to handle this battle. What way, though?" Nezha pondered.

"Sigh, how could Uncle Jiang, who usually is so greedy, be so upright about the enfeoffnt? I offered him ten thousand taels of gold, thirty carts of pearls, one hundred thousand jin of shark fins, and one hundred beautiful rmaid maids for an enfeoffnt slot, but he wouldn’t agree." Ao Yu sighed under the moonlight.

What she didn’t know was Jiang Ziya had a clear distinction in significant matters. Though he rejected, his heart ached at the luxurious offer.

"Greedy?"

Nezha was stunned, a light bulb mont flashed in his mind, and he ca up with an idea.

Excitedly, he hugged Ao Yu beside him, planting a big kiss on her soft cheek.

"Little Dragon Girl, you’re my lucky star!"

Saying this, he stepped on his Wind Fire Wheel, turning into a streak of red light, heading straight towards Xiqi City.
