Claiming the Throne of Gods, Starting from the Rebirth of Nezha Chapter 141 Nezha Meets King Wen at Youli
"What’s true cannot be false, and what’s false cannot be true, my lord. This jade pendant is indeed a good piece of jade, but if you bought it at the price of an immortal magical treasure, then you’ve made a big loss."
Nezha looked at Jiang Ziya jumping in agony on the side and helplessly shook his head.
The lord his martial uncle was talking about was naturally the Chengtang Imperial Uncle Bi Gan, whom they had t on Zhaoge Street during the incident with the fiery pipa sprite.
Though Jiang Ziya had also beco an official, he was just a minor official with no real power, incomparable to Bi Gan.
However, for so unknown reason, after hearing that Jiang Ziya was a magician, Bi Gan frequently invited him over for drinks and chats.
Even though Jiang Ziya was not well-versed in worldly affairs and his cultivation did not reach any significant level, being the direct disciple of the Yuanshi Tianzun, he still bore insights and wisdom.
His unique perspectives often left Bi Gan feeling that indeed, one mountain is always higher than another.
That day, after three rounds of drinks, Jiang Ziya started having a hard ti keeping up, yet Bi Gan, renowned in Zhaoge for holding his liquor, was just getting started, thus he took Nezha and Jiang Ziya out for more.
Nezha, supporting the staggering Ziya, asked, "Master, where are we going now?"
"Don’t ask yet. Today, as this rich local of Zhaoge, I’ll show you the real fun in this grand city and introduce you to an interesting person."
"No, no, my lord, I can’t take it anymore! Waaah—"
Finishing his sentence, Jiang Ziya vomited all over the luxurious carpet in the room. If Nezha hadn’t dodged in ti, it would’ve been on him.
"Martial uncle, if you can’t drink, just have a little!"
"Hahaha, no worries, once he vomits, he’ll sober up. Soone, bring hot water and towels for Doctor Jiang to wipe his face."
Bi Gan, broad-minded, naturally did not mind Jiang Shang losing his decorum.
Perhaps it was because the wine at his residence was too good that Jiang Shang didn’t seem to hold his liquor as he used to.
He staggered a couple of steps, apologizing to Bi Gan one mont and then falling face-first into his own ss the next, snoring loudly.
Bi Gan and Nezha exchanged a look and, regardless of age, they both laughed.
"Perhaps today it’s not ant to be? Alas." Bi Gan sighed, "My friend, whom I wanted you to et, is skilled in predicting fortunes and using nurology to calculate destiny. I always felt you two would get along well."
A group of servants ca to tidy up Jiang Ziya, who lay there filthy yet sound asleep.
Nezha gave him a hand, then turned to Bi Gan and said, "Fate doesn’t connect today, but tomorrow is another day. We can go another ti."
Bi Gan nodded, "A good saying for another day, young man. But if you ask , when you have the ti, you really should visit Youli. It’s not as lively as the main streets of Zhaoge City now, but it’s full of old Zhaoge traditions, and the food and fun are more authentic."
Youli.
Renowned for prophesying with the Innate Number.
Nezha then asked, "Is the friend you ntioned none other than the renowned Duke Ji Chang of Xiqi?"
"Indeed, it is Duke Ji Chang. Do you know him?"
The so-called Innate Number is said to be derived from Fu Xi’s creation of the Eight Diagrams, determining the auspicious and unlucky aspects of human affairs.
As ntioned before, Duke Ji Chang offended the emperor with careless words while drunk. Though he retained his life, he was imprisoned in Youli.
The legendary father of Zhou Wu King Ji Fa, rumored to have four nipples and a hundred sons, is certainly a person worth eting.
He thought it no wonder Jiang Ziya was in such poor shape today; perhaps it wasn’t their destined ti to et yet.
"I don’t know him, but I’ve long heard of Ji Chang and yearn to et him. Rest assured, my lord, I’ll take martial uncle ho first. I’ll definitely visit Youli when I have the chance."
Nezha carried Jiang Ziya on his back. Just as they stepped out, it started to snow heavily.
He walked along the street with the snow falling thick, like a white net weaving heaven and earth together.
At ho, he t a woman.
Nezha paused, then smiled, "Auntie’s here."
The woman turned out to be Jiang Ziya’s wife, Ma. She put the skimr in her hand on the ground and said, "I brought so eggs from ho for Ziya."
Seeing Jiang Ziya drunk, her expression turned gloomy, but she still bustled around to care for him.
Nezha entrusted Ziya to her and, holding Lv Zhu’er in one hand and leading a large black dog by its leash, went outside to play.
"Little Piggy, are you cold?"
"Master, although it’s snowing today, I feel it’s not as cold as a few days ago. Look, Sister Qiu knitted a new jacket; isn’t it beautiful?"
Lv Zhu’er twirled in front of him, making Nezha happy too, but a gust of wind made him feel sothing. So he asked a nearby pancake vendor, "Aunt Wang, where’s Youli?"
"Is that you, Nezha? Here, have a warm pancake."
The pancake vendor handed a pancake to Nezha, smiling, "Just keep heading west. There’s an intersection with a thousand-year-old pine tree right in the center. When you see the pine tree, you’ll be at Youli."
Nezha turned and headed west, sharing half of the warm, sweet pancake with Lv Zhu’er.
"Master, why are we going to Youli?"
"I heard from Master Bi Gan that many traditional Zhaoge foods are now only found over there. Let’s go try so today."
When they arrived at Youli, Nezha discovered that it was indeed different from other places.
Though not as affluent as the main city of Zhaoge, the people all wore smiles, and the houses and streets were impeccably clean.
He strolled around with Lv Zhu’er, buying so snacks until soone directed him to Ji Chang’s residence.
They still had to head west to Youli’s edge, where there was a small courtyard with two elders playing chess in the snow.
Nezha held Lv Zhu’er, but before he could approach, the black dog trotted ahead.
Seeing the black dog, one of the elders laughed, "This morning, I sensed sothing and cast a hexagram, predicting that soone would visit today. See, here they co!"
The elderly man across from him shook his head with a smile, conceded defeat, and after glancing at Nezha from a distance, turned and left.
Nezha approached, noticing the old man’s weak aura but dignified deanor. He respectfully greeted him, "I am Li Nezha, here to visit Duke Ji Chang."
The old man smiled benignly, stroking his beard, and scrutinized Nezha with wise, twinkling eyes. He then asked solemnly, "Did you co empty-handed?"
"Ah?"
"Haha, just teasing. Since you ca from afar, co inside for a chat."
Without packing up the chessboard, Ji Chang opened the courtyard gate. Nezha handed so money to Lv Zhu’er, letting her roam with the black dog, while he followed Ji Chang into the courtyard.
The courtyard was simply furnished, like an ordinary rural ho, without any particular grandeur.
He opened the door to the house, and a wave of warmth greeted him on the frigid winter day.
Two charming won stepped out, taking Ji Chang’s robe with a smile, acting quite affectionately towards him.
A pretty maid also served hot tea.
Seeing Nezha’s peculiar gaze, Ji Chang chuckled, "Don’t be surprised. I have no other vice but enjoying life, and good fortune with won. I can’t do without them."
Ji Chang sat down, his cheerful deanor unrestrained. Barely noticing the maid serving tea, the other won in the room quickly retreated.
"I understand."
Nezha thought, no wonder soone could have a hundred sons, while he remained a virgin.
Expressing one’s indulgence so frankly yet without drawing dislike might be a skill in itself.
However, he realized he had co unprepared and wasn’t eloquent. The situation seed more awkward than he had imagined.
He picked up the hot tea, set it down again, and rely said, "Duke Ji Chang has endured hardship being imprisoned in Youli for many years."
"Hardship, where is the hardship?"
Duke Ji Chang appeared surprised and said, "I already calculated that within less than a year, I’d return safely to Xiqi. Besides, life in Youli, loved by villagers, carefree living, no endless duties to handle, and not lacking won—where’s the hardship?"
