Elijah Flack’s voice echoed throughout the large recording studio. Everyone was dumbfounded; they never expected the usually mild-tempered Elijah to publicly humiliate Eve Doleman.
Eve’s face instantly turned red; eyebrows tightly furrowed. She suppressed her anger, voice cold: “Since everyone is holding different opinions, let the production team investigate the truth for fairness’ sake. I will prove who the real plagiarist is!”
The producer quickly stepped forward to diate, “Why don’t we settle this privately?”
“I cannot take this injustice lying down. Now that this has happened, we must find out the truth.” Eve spoke with conviction: “I’m innocent of plagiarism, so I really don’t understand why Elijah defends this young designer. Is there sothing special going on between you two?”
Staring at Elijah and Xaviera Evans, everyone recalled that he had always stayed out of scandals throughout his career. Now, however, his relationship with this designer seed suspicious, which irritated his fans.

Elijah raised an eyebrow, “Catching a ride on my fa?”
Eve’s eyes flashed mockery, “Miss Evans is indeed pretty, so it’s understandable why you like her. However, is it not damaging to your reputation to falsely accuse for the sake of the woman you like? Although I do respect you, your influence shouldn’t stop us from pursuing the truth!”
The audience unsettled.
Elijah’s manager’s eyes grew cold. What nonsense was Eve talking about? She was insinuating that the reason Elijah spoke up for Xaviera Evans was that they had an illicit relationship. This was an attack on Elijah’s reputation!

“I’m her older brother,” said Elijah nonchalantly, his voice indifferent with a hint of contempt, “Why wouldn’t I protect her?”
The recording studio fell silent all of a sudden; everyone’s eyes widened in disbelief.

Eve was stunned, her face rigid and mouth twitching, “She…?”
Elijah spoke indifferently, “Miss Hughes, how could soone as young as you have such a strange mindset? How could you automatically think that our relationship is impure when you see protecting a girl? Is your family’s upbringing to maliciously speculate about others?”
The fans started defending Elijah too. Eve’s remarks were clearly intended to tarnish his reputation, insinuating that he harbored ulterior motives for siding with Xaviera Evans.
Eve’s face was ashen, and she struggled to speak: “I…I was mistaken. I’m sorry, Mr. Flack.”
Elijah raised his eyebrows, “That’s it?”
Xaviera Evans: “…”

Eve gasped, feeling wronged. She had already apologized; what else could she do? Moreover, the designer was Elijah Flack’s sister? So why would she join this kind of variety show?
